Lexington Catholic handed Russell County their second loss of the season by a score of 34-14.  Lexington Catholic led 7-0 at halftime and outscored the Lakers 27-14 in the second half.  Lexington Catholic recorded 19 first downs and 308 yards of total offense.  The Knights were penalized nine times for 84 yards and lost two fumbles.  Russell County recorded 13 first downs and 250 yards of total offense.  The Lakers were penalized 14 times for 136 yards, lost a fumble, and had three passes intercepted.

“Mr. Versatility” Noah Mitchell had another stellar performance for Lexington Catholic as he led the ground game with 65 yards on 14 carries and caught three passes for 56 yards.  Reese Ryan completed 14 of 21 passes for 163 yards and two touchdowns.  David Bouvier caught five passes for 47 yards and a touchdown.  Sam Letton added four receptions for 48 yards and a touchdown.  Josh Messmer came up big on defense with 11 solo and five assisted tackles with four of his tackles resulting in losses totaling eight yards.  Braxton Couch added six solo and two assisted tackles with two of his tackles resulting in losses totaling eight yards.  Davis Rowady recorded four solo tackles and intercepted three passes with return yardage of 41 yards.

Blake Ellis led Russell County’s ground game with 66 yards and a touchdown on 11 carries.  Austin Smiddy completed nine of 17 passes for 179 yards with on interception.  Blake Ellis completed two of nine passes for eight yards with two interceptions.  Blake Ellis caught five passes for 106 yards.  Braxton Mann added four receptions for 73 yards.  Mason Short led the defense with seven solo and six assisted tackles with three of his tackles resulting in losses totaling seven yards.  Nick Coffey added seven solo and three assisted tackles with four of his tackles resulting in losses totaling 15 yards.  Evan Fletcher recorded five solo and three assisted tackles with three of his tackles resulting in losses totaling 20 yards and recovering a fumble.  Blake Ellis was all over the field on both sides of the ball as he added three solo and two assisted tackles, returned four kickoffs for 70 yards and punted twice for a 43 yard average.

Franklin County captured a hard fought 27-21 overtime victory over South Oldham tonight.  The score was tied 21-21 after regulation and South Oldham got the ball first in overtime but was stopped.  Franklin County took over and Chris Roberts scored the winning touchdown on a 3 yard run to give the Flyers the 27-21 victory and improve their record to 11-1 for the year.  South Oldham finished the season at 8-4.  Franklin County recorded 14 first downs and 343 yards of total offense.  The Flyers were penalized nine times for 145 yards, lost two fumbles, and had a pass intercepted.  Franklin County ran 30 less plays (81-51) than South Oldham.  South Oldham recorded 26 first downs and 427 yards of total offense.  They were penalized four times for 26 yards, lost a fumble, and had two passes intercepted.

Chris Roberts led Franklin County’s ground attack with 228 yards and three touchdowns on 19 carries.  Lorenzo McCaskell carried the ball seven times for 45 yards and a touchdown.  Barrett Sanderson completed five of 14 passes for 22 yards with one interception.  Lorenzo McCaskell caught three passes for seven yards and Chris Roberts caught one pass for 12 yards.  Jhanny Rodriguez led the defense with 11 solo tackles and intercepted a pass.  Chris Roberts added nine solo tackles including one tackles for a nine yard loss.  Jarod Marshall recorded six solo and one assisted tackles.  Malik Barrett added three solo tackles, recovered a fumble whish he returned 49 yards and an interception he returned 11 yards.

T. Williams led South Oldham’s ground game with 120 yards and a touchdown on 13 carries.  Kevin Kuriger carried the ball 18 times for 65 yards.  Chase Lightfoot added 39 yards on 14 carries and Starr Thompson carried the ball six times for 38 yards.  Chase Lightfoot completed nine of 24 passes for 135 yards and a touchdown with two interceptions.  Jon Jones caught six passes for 104 yards and two touchdowns.  John Connor led the defense with seven solo tackles with one of his tackles resulting in a two yard loss.  Nathan Dearen added six solo tackles.

Anderson County took a 35-21 lead after three quarters and held on to earn a 35-34 victory over Conner .  Conner pulled to within 1; 35-34 on a 38 yard interception return by Jesse McKeehan with 6:54 remaining in the game but the two point conversion attempt failed.  Anderson County recorded 22 first downs and 356 yards of total offense.  They were penalized six times for 45 yards, lost a fumble, and had two passes intercepted.  Conner recorded 14 first downs and 262 yards of total offense.  They were penalized once for 12 yards, lost a fumble, and had a pass intercepted.

Zach Carmichael led Anderson County’s ground game with 58 yards on 14 carries.  Ross Cox carried the ball 15 times for 48 yards and a touchdown.  Zach Carmichael completed 15 of 22 passes for 167 yards and two touchdowns with two interceptions.  Ross Cox caught six passes for 77 yards.  Tristin Ashburn added three receptions for 37 yards and two touchdowns.  Ross Cox and Dusty Puckett each scored on an 88 yard kickoff return.  Tristin Ashburn led the defense with two solo and five assisted tackles with one of his tackles resulting in a three yard loss.  Huston Page added three solo and two assisted tackles with two of his tackles resulting in losses totaling eight yards.  Landon Searcy recorded three solo and one assisted tackles with two of his tackles resulting in losses totaling three yards.  Ross Cox also recorded three solo and one assisted tackles and intercepted a pass he returned 31 yards.

Drew Barker led Conner’s ground game with 111 yards on 16 carries.  Barker completed six of 23 passes for 123 yards and two touchdowns with one interception.  Andrew Way caught three passes for 56 yards and a touchdown.  Jesse McKeehan caught a 50 yard touchdown pass and also scored on an 84 yard kickoff return.  Z. Castleberry led the defense with four solo and 14 assisted tackles.  Jacob Warwick added seven solo and four assisted tackles.  Trevor Thompson recorded six solo and four assisted tackles.  Jesse McKeehan recorded two solo and three assisted tackles and intercepted two passes with 53 return yards including one pick he returned 38 yards for a score.

Scott County took an early 13-0 lead, Bryan Station star quarterback Ora Johnson left the game late in the first quarter with an apparent ankle injury and the rout was on as Scott County improved to 12-0 with a 55-7 victory over the defenders.  Scott County recorded 22 first downs and 361 yards of total offense.  The Cardinals were penalized three times for 15 yards and lost a fumble.  Bryan Station recorded seven first downs and 118 yards of total offense including a minus 16 yards on 17 carries on the ground.  Bryan Station was penalized three times for 20 yards, lost a fumble, and had two passes intercepted.

Kevin Claussen led Scott County’s ground attack with 137 yards and two touchdowns on 22 carries.  Noah Hughes carried the ball seven times for 48 yards and a touchdown.  Eric Abney added 35 yards and a touchdown on nine carries.  Clay McKee completed three of four passes for 74 yards and three touchdowns.  Clark Griffin, Keith Guy, and Grayson Miller caught touchdown passes of 35, 27, and 12 yards respectively.  Thomas Daniel led the defense with five solo tackles with two of his tackles resulting in losses totaling seven yards.  Triston Mosley added three solo and one assisted tackles.

K-CI Carmichael led Bryan Station’s ground game with 18 yards and a touchdown on eight carries.  Dallas Bruton completed seven of 14 passes for 107 yards with one interception.  Tequan Claitt caught four passes for 82 yards.  Devon Key led the defense with eight solo and four assisted tackles.  Mikel Horton and Chris Jackson each recorded six solo and one assisted tackles and Jamar Brooks added five solo and one assisted tackles.

Paul Laurence Dunbar took an early 13-0 lead sparked by Emory Thompson’s 60 yard run on the first play from scrimmage but Henry Clay rallied behind 211 yards on the ground from Elijah Bell to defeat the Bulldogs by a score of 28-13.  Henry Clay recorded 20 first downs and 397 yards of total offense.  The Blue Devils were penalized six times for 31 yards, lost a fumble, and had two passes intercepted.  Paul Laurence Dunbar recorded 13 first downs and 222 yards of total offense.  The Bulldogs were penalized seven times for 55 yards.

Elijah Bell led Henry Clay’s ground game with 211 yards and two touchdowns on 20 carries.  Davion Jackson carried the ball 24 times for 112 yards and one touchdown.  Sammy Carter completed six of 13 passes for 78 yards and one touchdown with two interceptions.  Austin Black caught four passes for 55 yards and a touchdown.  Lakwon Givens led the defense with 11 solo and six assisted tackles with 1.5 of his tackles resulting in losses totaling six yards.  Da. Robinson added six solo and five assisted tackles with two of his tackles resulting in losses totaling 13 yards.

Emory Thompson led Dunbar’s ground game with 62 yards and two touchdowns on 15 carries.  AJ Williams carried the ball nine times for 47 yards.  Cam Pergram added 42 yards on 11 carries and Jay Coleman added 32 yards on seven carries.  Emory Thompson completed one of two passes for 33 yards.  Donte Allen caught one pass for 33 yards.  Jmaurion Dunn led the defense with seven solo and seven assisted tackles with 2.5 of his tackles resulting in losses totaling 15 yards and recovered a fumble.  AJ Williams added eight solo and one assisted tackles with one of his tackles resulting in a four yard loss and intercepted a pass he returned for 10 yards.  Derante Sanders recorded three solo and seven assisted tackles with one of his tackles resulting in a four yard loss.

Henry Clay dominated on both sides of the ball tonight in a 55-6 victory over Madison Central.  Henry Clay recorded 11 first downs and 479 yards of total offense.  The Blue Devils limited Madison Central to 10 net rushing yards on 29 carries.  They were penalized seven times for 82 yards.  Madison Central recorded seven first downs and 93 yards of total offense.  The Indians were penalized once for five yards, lost two fumbles, and had three passes intercepted.

Davion Jackson led Henry Clay’s ground game with 153 yards and two touchdowns on four carries.  Joquise Buford carried the ball twice for 100 yards and a touchdown.  Elijah Bell added 42 yards and a touchdown on five carries.  Sammy Carter completed nine of 14 passes for 157 yards and two touchdowns.  Colby Barnes caught three passes for 48 yards and a touchdown.  Austin Black caught two passes for 91 yards and a touchdown.  Jacob Snelling led the defense with four solo and two assisted tackles with three of his tackles resulting in losses totaling 16 yards.  John York added three solo and one assisted tackles.  Maurice Gibson and Clark Dupree recovered fumbles, and Griffin Brixey, Devin Byrd, and Sydney Hugle each intercepted a pass.

Johan Williams led Madison Central’s ground game with 22 yards on 18 carries.  Zach Hardin completed five of 12 passes for 59 yards with three interceptions.  John Williams caught two passes for 55 yards.  Korrion Crier led the defense with four solo and one assisted tackles with three of his tackles resulting in losses totaling five yards.  Clay Jordan added three solo and one assisted tackles.

Franklin County defeated Scott by a score of 28-14 despite trailing in time of possession 31:39-16:21.  Franklin County recorded 11 first downs and 295 yards of total offense.  The Flyers were penalized six times for 45 yards and lost two fumbles.  Scott recorded 16 first downs and 353 yards of total offense.  They were penalized six times for 46 yards, lost a fumble, and had a pass intercepted.

Chris Roberts led Franklin County’s ground game with 51 yards and a touchdown on nine carries.  Barrett Sanderson carried the ball eight times for 40 yards and a touchdown.  Barrett Sanderson completed 13 of 18 passes for 207 yards and a touchdown.  Lorenzo McCaskell caught four passes for 89 yards and a touchdown.  Logan Duke led the defense with 10 solo and five assisted tackles.  Jhanny Rodriguez added five solo and four assisted tackles.  Malik Barnett recorded six solo tackles with two of his tackles resulting in losses totaling six yards.  Chris Roberts added three solo tackles, recovered a fumble, and scored on an 82 yard interception return.

Josh Castleman led Scott’s ground attack with 202 yards and a touchdown on 28 carries.  Ben Osborne carried the ball 10 times for 46 yards.  Ben Osborne completed two of nine passes for 44 yards and a touchdown with one interception.  Nick Wolff caught two passes for 44 yards and a touchdown.  Blake Gay led the defense with four solo and four assisted tackles with 1.5 of his tackles resulting in losses totaling nine yards and recovered a fumble.  Chris Roberts added five solo and two assisted tackles with two of his tackles resulting in losses totaling six yards.  Andrew Hicks recorded four solo and one assisted tackles.

Rockcastle County took an early 13-8 lead but Lexington Catholic scored 42 unanswered points to earn a 50-13 victory and advance in the playoffs.  Lexington Catholic recorded 14 first downs and 239 yards of total offense.  The Knights were penalized six times for 64 yards and lost a fumble.  Corded Rockcastle County recorded nine first downs and 221 yards of total offense.  The Rockets were penalized six times for 40 yards, lost a fumble, and had a pass intercepted.

Reese Ryan led Lexington Catholic’s ground game with 35 yards on 10 carries.  Marcelis Logan carried the ball seven times for 33 yards and a touchdown.  Reese Ryan completed 10 of 17 passes for 152 yards and three touchdowns.  Sam Letton caught three passes for 79 yards and two touchdowns.  David Bouvier added three receptions for 39 yards and a touchdown.  Josh Messmer led the defense with 14 solo and one assisted tackles with 4.5 of his tackles resulting in losses totaling 28 yards.  Cody Mitchell added five solo tackles with one of his tackles resulting in a 17 yard loss.  Braxton Couch recorded four solo and one assisted tackles and intercepted a pass he returned 27 yards.

Chance Ansardi led Rockcastle County’s ground game with 18 yards on six carries.  C. McPhetridge completed 20 of 39 passes for 246 yards and two touchdowns with one interception.  Brandon Jones caught seven passes for 31 yards.  Chayse McClure added six receptions for 107 yards and two touchdowns.  Tyler Harper caught three passes for 67 yards.  Isaiah Adams led the defense with six solo and one assisted tackles with five of his tackles resulting in losses totaling 39 yards.  Jared Lake added five solo tackles with three of his tackles resulting in losses totaling 14 yards.

Paul Laurence Dunbar utilized their potent ground game to grind out a 28-16 victory over Tates Creek.  PLD recorded 14 first downs and 347 yards of total offense.  The Bulldogs were penalized nine times for 60 yards, lost two fumbles, and had a pass intercepted.  Tates Creek recorded 16 first downs and 260 yards of total offense.  The Commodores were penalized six times for 45 yards and lost two fumbles.

Jay Coleman led PLD’s ground game with 101 yards and two touchdowns on eight carries.  AJ Williams carried the ball 11 times for 99 yards.  Emory Thompson added 46 yards and a touchdown on five carries.  Cam Pergram carried the ball 11 times for 43 yards and a touchdown.  Emory Thompson completed one of three passes for 26 yards with one interception.  Marcellis Means caught one pass for 26 yards.  AJ Williams led the defense with six solo and three assisted tackles with one of his tackles resulting in a three yard loss.  Marcellis Means added three solo and six assisted tackles with 2.5 of his tackles resulting in losses totaling 18 yards and recovered a fumble.  Luke Daily recorded six solo and two assisted tackles.  Derante Sanders added three solo and five assisted tackles with 2.5 of his tackles resulting in losses totaling 17 yards.

Casey Grimes led Tates Creek’s ground attack with 44 yards on eight carries.  Graham Gordon completed 21 of 27 passes for 245 yards and a touchdown.  RJ Taylor caught nine passes for 78 yards.  Austin Rogers added eight receptions for 106 yards and a touchdown.  Marshall Gant led the defense with four solo and six assisted tackles.  Ryan Betlach added two solo and seven assisted tackles.  Clint Boyte recorded one solo and six assisted tackles.
