Scott County raced out to a 49-0 halftime lead on their way to a 56-13 victory over North Bullitt.  Scott County recorded 13 first downs and 355 yards of total offense.  The Cardinals were penalized three times for 36 yards and lost two fumbles.  North Bullitt recorded 10 first downs and 170 yards of total offense.  They were penalized five times for 30 yards and lost two fumbles.

Bronson Brown led Scott County’s ground game with 64 yards and a touchdown on two carries.  Phillip Garner carried the ball twice for 53 yards.  Austin Barnett added 53 yards and two touchdowns on six carries.  Cade McKee completed three of three passes for 82 yards.  Glenn Covington caught two passes for 38 yards.  Cade Mullins added one reception for 44 yards.  Matt Fannin returned two punts for 40 yards.  Berk Watts led the defense with four solo and five assisted tackles.  Glenn Covington added five solo tackles.  Matt Fannin recorded four solo and two assisted tackles, blocked two kicks and returned a blocked punt 12 yards for a touchdown.  Payton Brown also scored on a 10 yard blocked punt return and Wynston Reibel scored on a 33 yard fumble recovery return.  Rylan Reed added four solo and one assisted tackles with two of his tackles resulting in losses totaling 20 yards.  Sam Daniel also recorded four solo and one assisted tackles with two of his tackles resulting in losses totaling 18 yards.

Cole Durbin led North Bullitt’s ground game with 31 yards and a touchdown on 10 carries.  Dylan Embry carried the ball four times for 30 yards.  Connor Abney completed seven of 14 passes for 107 yards and a touchdown.  Justin Sanders caught three passes for 45 yards.  Dylan Embry caught a 72 yard touchdown pass.  Embry also returned eight kickoffs for 184 yards with a long return of 39 yards.  Carlito Lucio led the defense with three solo and two assisted tackles.  Dalton Cloud added three solo and one assisted tackles.  Ricky Hill also recorded three solo and one assisted tackles.  Austin Vento and Josh Slayton each recovered a fumble.

Henry Clay utilized their blazing speed both on offense and defense to earn a 50-22 victory over Tates Creek.  Henry Clay recorded 10 first downs and 330 yards of total offense.  The Blue Devils were penalized 11 times for 122 yards and lost a fumble.  Henry Clay only ran 22 offensive plays compared to 57 for Tates Creek but held a 330-254 yard advantage on total offense.  Tates Creek recorded 19 first downs and 254 yards of total offense.  The Commodores were penalized nine times for 60 yards and had three passes intercepted.

Langston Jackson led Henry Clay’s ground game with 44 yards on six carries.  DJ VanHorn added 36 yards on two carries.  DJ VanHorn completed seven of 10 passes for 249 yards and four touchdowns.  Ramond Jackson caught three passes for 87 yards and two touchdowns.  Langston Jackson added two receptions for 151 yards and two touchdowns.  Ramond Jackson returned a punt 41 yards for a touchdown.  T. McDaniel led the defense with four solo and six assisted tackles.  Ramond Jackson added three solo and four assisted tackles.  Nate Steiner and Langston Jackson each scored on interception returns of 59 and 23 yards respectively.  Chris Dabney also recorded two solo and two assisted tackles with two of his tackles resulting in losses totaling 29 yards and intercepted a pass.

Marcus Bosley led Tates Creek’s ground game with 60 yards and a touchdown on 15 carries.  Willie McGhee carried the ball eight times for 48 yards.  Luke Duby completed 11 of 24 passes for 113 yards and two touchdowns with three interceptions.  Elliot Bryant caught three passes for 43 yards and two touchdowns.  Mikaleb Coffey added three receptions for 23 yards.  JD Hawkins led the defense with three solo tackles and recovered a fumble.  Zack Taluskie added two solo and one assisted tackles.

5-6 Sr. Gracee Dishman Cumberland County Crossville TN was named Camp MVP and is a versatile scorer who plays hard.  5-10 Sr. Hayley Harrison George Rogers Clark Winchester KY was named Camp Runner-Up MVP and has range on her jump shot and works hard.  6-2 Jr. Malea Williams Scott County Georgetown KY was named Top Underclassman and is a rim protector, excellent rebounder, and has a rapidly improving offensive game.  5-8 Sr. Maaliya Owens Scott County Georgetown KY is an athletic swingman who gets to the rim and has range on her jump shot.  6-0 Jr. Faith Eubank Station Camp Gallatin TN is a stretch 4 type who defends,  rebounds, and has excellent range on her jump shot.  5-7 So. Sydnee Richetto Wilson Central Lebanon TN is a top offensive player with downtown range.  5-8 Sr. Bailey Pedigo Barren County Glasgow KY is a playmaker and leader on the floor.  5-5 Sr. Ivy Turner Danville Danville KY is a complete scoring PG.  5-5 Jr. Deshiya Hoosier Beech Hendersonville TN is a quick floor general who scores.  5-9 Sr. Summer Secrist Scott Taylor Mill KY is an excellent scorer and a leader on the court.

Whitney Caldwell Pineville Pineville KY young combo guard shoots, handles, and passes.  5-5 Jr. Hannah Bolton Monroe Central Parker City IN has a high basketball IQ and is a deadly shooter.  6-2 Sr. Mary-Clare Megibben Collins Shelbyville KY has great size and is very active in the paint.  5-1 So. Amiya Jenkins Henry Clay Lexington KY is a 2-guard to watch in the future.  5-6 Jr. Shelbi Wilson George Rogers Clark Winchester KY is a playmaker with skills.  5-4 Jr. Shiaynn Elkins Russell County Russell Springs KY this PG can shoot and thread a needle with her passes.  5-9 So. Sarah Hicks Ryle Union KY attacks the rim and has nice mid range jump shot. 5-5 Jr. Jana Claire Swafford Beech Hendersonville TN is a strong guard and good scorer.  5-9 So. The numbers of campers were down this year but not the talent.  This was an abbreviated list with several other players making good impressions.  Many mentioned here and several there were not have the ability to make a big impact this season with their respective teams.

6-1 Sr. RJ Abernathy Humboldt Humboldt TN was named Camp MVP and is an athletic scorer who gets to the rim.  6-3 Sr. Chase Sanders Corbin Corbin KY was named Camp Runner-Up MVP and is a deadly marksman from mid to long range.  6-6 Sr. Nick Martin Knox Central Barbourville KY is tough both inside and outside.  6-3 Jr. Blane Greene NW Whitfield Tunnel Hill GA is very athletic and a great finisher.  6-8 Sr. Clark Larson Goodpasture Christian Madison TN has good size and a huge upside.  5-10 Fr. Christian Spalding Eastern Louisville KY can do it all in the backcourt.  6-5 Fr. 6-4 Sr. Ethan Coury Eastern Louisville KY is a versatile shooter and scorer.  6-4 Jr. Kobey Scott Male Louisville KY rebounds well and is a strong finisher.  5-11 Sr. Jacob Robinson Eastern Louisville KY is a heady PG and a good scorer.  5-11 So. Makhi White Eastern Louisville KY good young player with all around skills.  6-5 Sr. Jalen Byars Paris Paris KY is a long, athletic wing.  6-4 Sr. JD Schumacher Bishop Brossart Alexandria KY is a strong scorer both inside and out.  6-6 Sr. Tyler Boggs Letcher County Central Whitesburg KY is a strong inside banger who gets results.  5-9 So. Ricky Washington Paris Paris KY has a high basketball IQ and finishes at the rim.  6-1 Sr. Phillip Armstrong Seneca Louisville KY is a great ball handler and penetrator.  5-10 Jr. Jonathan Anthony Eastern Louisville KY is a true PG who makes teammates better.  5-11 Sr. Brandon Cromwell Woodford County Versailles KY has solid all around backcourt skills.

 

This was just a partial list of players who impressed these two days but there were several more that have the ability to make their mark this season.

There were several impressive young players in this division.  6-0 8th Grade Connor Fugate Paintsville Middle Paintsville KY was named Camp MVP for this division and is a multi-skilled player and one to watch in the future.  5-10 Fr. Jaiden Lawrence Bowling Green Bowling Green KY was named Camp Runner-Up MVP for this division and is a combo guard with natural talent.  5-11 8th Grade Mason Guffey Grant County Middle Dry Ridge KY is a combo guard who attacks the rim.  5-11 8th Grade Dylan Hammonds Grant County Middle Dry Ridge KY is a rebounder with a high revving motor.  5-11 8th Grade Evan Biliter Pineville Independent Pineville KY is a strong rebounder with good post moves and works hard.  6-2 8th Grade Eric Burke Allen Central Middle Eastern KY has good size and is a scorer with range on his shot.  6-4 8th Grade Ryan Rose Adams Middle Prestonsburg KY has excellent size with range on his shot.  5-6 7th Grade Maurice McCall Moler School Columbus OH is an athletic guard who attacks rim and shoots well.  5-10 Fr. Hayden Adamson Crittenden County Marion KY shoots well and is a good passer.  5-3 8th Grade Dennis Estepp Woodland Middle Gurnee IL is a nice shooter with good handles.  5-4 7th Grade Matthew Golinski Bryan Station Middle Lexington KY is a good stationary shooter and good passer.  6-0 8th Grade Delonte Rager-Ridley Natchitoches Magnet Natchitoches LA is a good scorer with a big upside.  5-7 8th Grade Connor Hopkins Adams Middle Prestonsburg KY is a hustler who makes plays.  5-11 Fr. Eli Thompson Pineville Independent Pineville KY is a ferocious rebounder.  5-11 Fr. Alex Mayer Lexington Catholic Lexington KY is an aggressive hard worker and shoots well.  5-10 Fr. Steven Schuliger Cooper Union KY is strong in the paint and a good rebounder.

2018 Rick Bolus' Girls Basketball Camp July 15-16

“Tall timber in camp”

 

I observed several young ladies standing 6-0 or taller in Rick Bolus’ Girls Basketball Camp at Georgetown College July 15-16. 

 

6-0 Jr. Faith Eubank Station Camp Gallatin TN – Eubank has excellent skills, versatile scorer, rebounder, and defender.  She challenges passes on defense, dares her opponent to put the ball on the floor, and is very active on both ends of the floor, solid fundamentals.

 

6-2 Jr. Malea Williams Scott County Georgetown KY – This slender post player is an excellent rim protector, good rebounder, and has rapidly improving offensive skills.  Williams has a big upside.

 

6-0 Sr. Addison Wilson Cumberland County Crossville TN – Wilson has good size and runs the floor extremely well.

 

6-0 So. Raigan King Pineville Pineville KY – King is a young post player with an excellent upside.

 

6-2 Sr. Mary-Clare Megibben Collins Shelbyville KY- has excellent size and is very active on both ends of the floor.

 

6-0 So. McKenna Benton Ryle Union KY – good size young player with good upside.
