Tates Creek led 21-7 in the second quarter but Danville rallied to earn a 27-24 victory over the Commodores.  Danville improves to 7-0 for the season while Tates Creek falls to 4-2.  Danville recorded 18 first downs and 336 yards of total offense.  The Admirals were penalized 10 times for 82 yards and lost two fumbles.  Tates Creek recorded 14 first downs and 327 yards of total offense.  The Commodores were penalized nine times for 100 yards, lost a fumble, and had a pass intercepted.

Donlevy Harris led Danville’s ground game with 72 yards and a touchdown on 12 carries.  Dmauriae VanCleave carried the ball seven times for 53 yards.  Zach Thornton completed 15 of 28 passes for 168 yards and two touchdowns.  David Walker caught six passes for 81 yards and a touchdown.  Dmauriae VanCleave added six receptions for 51 yards and a touchdown.  Jaleel Warren recorded four receptions for 36 yards.  David Walker returned one kickoff for 45 yards.  Chase Tandy led the defense with four solo and seven assisted tackles.  Darrian Bell added four solo and four assisted tackles.  Ethan Downey recorded two solo and three assisted tackles with 1.5 of his tackles resulting in losses totaling two yards.and recovered a fumble.  Jaleel Warren added two solo and two assisted tackles with two of his tackles resulting in losses totaling eight yards.  Brennan McGuire intercepted a pass he returned 17 yards.

Laron Warner led Tates Creek’s ground game with 94 yards on 22 carries.  Cameron Workman completed 17 of 38 passes for 225 yards and three touchdowns with one interception.  Devonta Clay caught four passes for 68 yards and two touchdowns.  Laron Warner also caught four passes for 38 yards.  Mikaleb Coffey added two receptions for 53 yards.  Miles Thomas caught two passes for 49 yards.  Darryl Bell Jr. added two receptions for 17 yards and a touchdown.  Darryl Bell Jr. returned three kickoffs for 69 yards with a long return of 36 yards.  Laron Warner returned one kickoff for 30 yards.  Marcus Bosley led the defense with six solo and four assisted tackles with one of his tackles resulting in a two yard loss.  D’Mari Byrd and Cam Stewart added five solo and four assisted tackles each.  Teonte White and Darryl Bell Jr. each recorded five solo and two assisted tackles.  Elliott Bryant and JD Hawkins each recovered a fumble.

Lexington Christian Academy rolled up 69 points in the first half on their way to a 76-28 victory over Middlesboro.  LCA recorded 21 first downs and 489 yards of total offense.  The Eagles were penalized 12 times for 110 yards.  Middlesboro recorded six first downs and 199 yards of total offense.  They were penalized three times for 20 yards, lost two fumbles, and had two passes intercepted.

Dillon Wheatley led LCA’s ground game with 83 yards and five touchdowns on 14 carries.  Logan Nieves carried the ball six times for 65 yards.  Dearious Smith carried the ball once for 57 yards and a touchdown.  Chase Sacca added 45 yards on five carries.  Logan Nieves completed seven of eight passes for 192 yards and three touchdowns.  Josh McClurg completed both his passes for 17 yards and a touchdown.  Drayden Burton caught two passes for 79 yards and a touchdown.  Dearious Smith added three receptions for 71 yards and two touchdowns.  Jed Green caught two passes for 17 yards and a touchdown.  Drayden Burton returned one kickoff for 34 yards.  Caelen Lebryk returned two punts for 70 yards.  Blane Hardin and Jonathan Kaufmann led the defense with two solo and three assisted tackles each.  Will Vernon and JoshMcClurg each intercepted a pass. 

Owen McWilliams led Middlesboro’s ground game with 61 yards and a touchdown on 13 carries.  Corey Hariston carried the ball seven times for 49 yards and a touchdown.  Owen McWilliams completed one of two passes for 73 yards and a touchdown with one interception.  Corey Hariston caught one pass for 73 yards and a touchdown.  Owen McWilliams returned six kickoffs for 155 yards and scored on an 85 yard run.  Alex Mason led the defense with eight solo and two assisted tackles.  Sebastian Wagoner added two solo and six assisted tackles.

Frederick Douglass improves to 5-1 for the year with a 27-6 victory over Bryan Station who drops to 0-6 for the season.  Frederick Douglass recorded 29 first downs and 455 yards of total offense.  The Broncos were penalized 12 times for 92 yards and lost two fumbles.  Bryan Station recorded 11 first downs and 212 yards of total offense.  The Defenders were penalized eight times for 81 yards, lost a fumble, and had two passes intercepted.

Jefferson Harkless led Douglass’ ground game with 138 yards and a touchdown on 23 carries.  Nate Gay carried the ball 12 times for 72 yards.  Montaveon Bean added 42 yards on seven carries.  Montaveon Bean completed 14 of 24 passes for 188 yards and three touchdowns.  Micah Lowe caught five passes for 77 yards and two touchdowns.  Haiden Hunt added three receptions for 36 yards.  Cameron Kennedy caught two passes for 39 yards and a touchdown.  Jaylin Bybee led the defense with three solo and one assisted tackles.  Tre Jwan Scott added three solo tackles with one of his tackles resulting in a three yard loss.  D. Christopher and Dedrick Thomas also recorded three solo tackles each.  Zee Overton and Jonathan Lott each intercepted a pass and Michael Fogle recovered a fumble.

C. Benton led Bryan Station’s ground game with 102 yards and one touchdown on five carries.  Jalen Burbage completed seven of 21 passes for 87 yards with two interceptions.  Shemar Ritch caught three passes for 41 yards.  Terrance Clayton-Murphy added three receptions for 18 yards.  Kendrick Curry caught one pass for 28 yards.  Jalen Burbage returned four kickoffs for 73 yards with a long return of 23 yards.  C. McKinley led the defense with five solo and nine assisted tackles.  Anthony Cox added seven solo and two assisted tackles.  Dayvon Moore recorded three solo and four assisted tackles with one of his tackles resulting in a loss of eight yards.  Jalen Burbage recovered a fumble.

DeSales dominated on both sides of the ball in a 42-0 victory over North Hardin.  DeSales recorded 19 first downs and 350 yards of total offense.  The Colts were penalized nine times for 160 yards and lost a fumble.  North Hardin recorded five first downs and 50 yards of total offense.  The Trojans were penalized five times for 43 yards, lost a fumble, and had a pass intercepted.

Carlos Ordway led DeSales’ ground game with 66 yards and a touchdown on 10 carries.  Aaron Pfaadt carried the ball three times for 37 yards.  AJ O’Shea added 36 yards and a touchdown on two carries.  Jordan Watkins and Chase Pfaadt each ran for a touchdown.  Aaron Pfaadt completed 10 of 14 passes for 177 yards and a touchdown.  Chase Pfaadt caught three passes for 42 yards.  Jordan Watkins added two receptions for 37 yards.  Ronni Standard recorded two receptions for 31 yards and a touchdown.  Jordan Watkins returned two punts for 58 yards with a long return of 44 yards.  Cameron Perry led the defense with four solo and one assisted tackles with two of his tackles resulting in losses totaling 14 yards.  Amos Griffith added three solo and one assisted tackles with two of his tackles resulting in losses totaling 16 yards.  Mekhi Lewis recorded three solo and one assisted tackles with two of his tackles resulting in losses totaling 23 yards.  Demetri Scott added two solo and two assisted tackles with 2.5 of his tackles resulting in losses totaling 16 yards and recovered a fumble for a touchdown.  Ryan O’Shea intercepted a pass.

Lafayette blanks Paul Laurence Dunbar by a score of 44-0 as Dunbar suffers their fifth shutout loss of the year.  Lafayette recorded 12 first downs and 297 yards of total offense.  The Generals were penalized four times for 26 yards.  Paul Laurence Dunbar recorded eight first downs and 137 yards of total offense.  The Bulldogs were penalized five times for 36 yards, lost two fumbles, and had a pass intercepted.

Cameron Morgan led Lafayette’s ground game with 84 yards and three touchdowns on 16 carries.  Dekwan Edwards completed four of 12 passes for 89 yards and two touchdowns.  Ean Shaw completed his only pass for 59 yards and a touchdown.  Cameron Morgan returned two kickoffs for 52 yards with a long return of 34 yards.  Jaylen Lawson led the defense with six solo and three assisted tackles.  Austin Blake added three solo and three assisted tackles with 1.5 of his tackles resulting in losses totaling five yards.  Kuantaze Cooper recorded three solo and two assisted tackles, recovered a fumble, and intercepted a pass he returned for 34 yards.  Devontae Hayes added three solo and one assisted tackles with one of his tackles resulting in a 10 yard loss.  Jay Brank recorded two solo tackles with his tackles resulting in losses totaling 10 yards.  D. Collins utilized a balanced offense and an aggressive defense to defeat Franklin County by a score of 45-7.  Collins recorded 14 first downs and 283 yards of total offense.  They were penalized six times for 67 yards.  Franklin County recorded 12 first downs and 164 yards of total offense.  The Flyers were penalized eight times for 86 yards and had three passes intercepted.

A. Bradford led Collins’ ground game with 85 yards and a touchdown on eight carries.  Zach Stucker carried the ball seven times for 67 yards and a touchdown.  JR Lucas also scored a touchdown on the ground.  JR Lucas completed eight of 16 passes for 121 yards and two touchdowns.  Nikos Klenakis caught three passes for 49 yards and a touchdown.  Cam Harris added two receptions for 31 yards and a touchdown.  DeShawn McBroom also caught a pass for 37 yards.  Sicari Toole returned one kickoff for 32 yards.  Nick Eades led the defense with 13 solo tackles with three of his tackles resulting in losses totaling four yards.  Zach Stucker added five solo tackles with two of his tackles resulting in losses totaling 19 yards.  Darius Williams recorded four solo tackles with his tackles resulting in losses totaling 22 yards.  Sicari Toole added two solo tackles and intercepted two passes he returned for 87 yards with a long return of 83 yards for a touchdown.  Henry Robbins also intercepted a pass he returned for 16 yards.

Tre Simmons led Franklin County’s ground game with 48 yards on 12 carries.  Jesse Thurman completed 10 of 24 passes for 89 yards with three touchdowns.  Fred Farrier caught five passes for 27 yards.  Tre Simmons added three receptions for 32 yards.  Brady Holleran led the defense with five solo tackles with one of his tackles resulting in a two yard loss.  Dixon Ledford, Chad Holleran, and Frank Turner each recorded four solo tackles.  Jalin Benson added two solo and one assisted tackles with 1.5 of his tackles resulting in losses totaling 13 yards.

Anderson County led 43-0 at halftime on their way to a 43-8 victory over Grant County.  Anderson County recorded 10 first downs and 268 yards of total offense on only 24 offensive plays.  The Bearcats were penalized 11 times for 82 yards.  Grant County recorded 10 first downs and 132 yards of total offense.  The Braves were penalized five times for 62 yards and had a pass intercepted.

Blake Franklin led Anderson County’s ground game with 59 yards and a touchdown on five carries.  Jagger Gillis carried the ball six times for 47 yards and a touchdown.  Jagger Gillis completed both his passes for 55 yards and two touchdowns.  Matt Stamper completed his only pass for 51 yards and a touchdown.  Tyler Peters caught two passes for 60 yards and two touchdowns.  Blake Franklin caught one pass for 46 yards and a touchdown.  Andrew Lykins returned one kickoff for 48 yards and a touchdown.  Justin Wilhoit led the defense with four solo and two assisted tackles with 2.5 of his tackles resulting in losses totaling five yards.  Austin Watts added four solo and one assisted tackles with 1.5 of his tackles resulting in losses totaling seven yards. Bill Aldridge recorded three solo and two assisted tackles with two of his tackles resulting in losses totaling 12 yards.  Matt Stamper intercepted a pass.

Austin Smith led Grant County’s ground game with 80 yards and a touchdown on 14 carries.  Colton Daniels carried the ball nine times for 38 yards.  Austin Knipp completed two of four passes for 35 yards with one interception.  J. Hetherington caught one pass for 26 yards.  Connor Deaton led the defense with two solo and two assisted tackles with one of his losses resulting in a seven yard loss.  Lawrence Dulin and Colton Daniels each recorded one solo and two assisted tackles.

Henry Clay had some high light scoring plays tonight but not enough as Scott County rolled to a 57-28 victory over the Blue Devils.  Scott County recorded 19 first downs and 423 yards of total offense.  The Cardinals were penalized eight times for 56 yards and had a pass intercepted.  Henry Clay recorded 11 first downs and 176 yards of total offense.  The Blue Devils were penalized seven times for 65 yards, lost a fumble, and had a pass intercepted.

Austin Barnett led Scott County’s ground game with 121 yards and a touchdown on 18 carries.  Brice Fryman carried the ball 11 times for 104 yards and two touchdowns.  Payton Brown recorded 27 yards and a touchdown on six carries.  Josh Davis completed four of seven passes for 111 yards and two touchdowns with one interception.  Landon Easley caught two passes for 74 yards and two touchdowns.  Glenn Covington added two receptions for 37 yards.  Glenn Covington returned one punt for 75 yards and a touchdown.  Josh Thomas led the defense with three solo and two assisted tackles.  Berk Watts added two solo and four assisted tackles.  Watts also scored on a 25 yard blocked punt return.

Langston Jackson led Henry Clay’s ground game with 76 yards and a touchdown on seven carries.  Tyree Clarke carried the ball 10 times for 67 yards.  Darrin Van Horn completed eight of 16 passes for 53 yards and a touchdown with one interception.  Zac Berezewitz caught six passes for 27 yards and a touchdown.  Langston Jackson returned six kickoffs for 229 yards with a long return of 93 yards and a touchdown.  Tyree Clarke returned two kickoffs for 46 yards.  Avery Benton led the defense with six solo and three assisted tackles.  Dorien Hardin added four solo and three assisted tackles.  Ramond Jackson recorded four solo and two assisted tackles and intercepted a pass he returned 78 yards for a touchdown.

Rick Bolus 4th Annual High Potential/Blue-Chip 2017 Fall Showcase

I hope to have my complete report on this event on my website within 24 hours.  This was an excellent one day event and the talent level and participation was excellent this year with excellent players at all  grade levels.  It was an extremely busy day both for the players and the parents and the effort was greatly appreciated.

This was an excellent one day event with some very talented ladies in attendance.  5-8 Sr. Jamari Tillman Doss Louisville KY was named Showcase MVP is a scoring machine in the backcourt and scores in a variety of ways.  6-2 Sr. Kennedy Musselman Rochester IN was named Showcase Runner-Up MVP and is a strong inside scorer and rebounder with a nice touch in the paint.  Co-Top Underclassman 5-10 So. Kendall Wingler Meade County Brandenburg KY is a big time shooter and scorer who attacks the rim with either hand.  Co-Top Underclassman 5-11 Jr. Devin Beach Eastern Louisville KY is an excellent inside player who sees the floor, passes, and defends.  5-5 8th Grade Tai Sherman Ursuline Academy New Orleans LA is a high level PG who gets to the rim and defends her position.  5-7 Jr. Jaida Wiggins Butler Louisville KY is a ferocious defender who attacks the rim on offense.  5-9 Sr. Raegan Blackburn Muhlenberg County Greenville KY has a high basketball IQ, shots the ball, and defends.  6-0 Jr. Dasia Thornton Clark Montessori Cincinnati OH is a versatile player who can play both inside and outside, very athletic.  5-8 Fr. Jacqueline Jackson Greenwood Bowling Green KY young combo guard with an excellent mid range jump shot.

 

5-5 Sr. Breanna Anthony Eastern Louisville KY is a true PG and floor leader that makes the team better.  6-0 Sr. Leah Shelley Ballard Memorial Barlow KY has excellent moves in the paint and attacks the glass.  5-9 Sr. Taylor Cromer South Laurel London KY is an experienced veteran player and a long range zone buster.  5-9 Sr. Alexis Nelson St. Francis Louisville KY scores, finishes at the rim, and is a good defender.  5-11 Jr. Kayla Young Breckinridge County Harned KY is a hard worker and a tireless rebounder.  5-4 Jr. Alyssa Howie Spencer County is an excellent shooter who can get to the rim.  5-9 Jr. Mary Grace Smith Brighton TN is a deadly mid-range shooter.  5-11 Sr. Hunter Wright Eastern Louisville KY is a power forward runs the floor, rebounds, and blocks shots.

 

5-9 8th Grade Diana Burgher North Harrison Middle Ramsay IN talented young player with skills, definitely one to watch.  5-6 Jr. Madison Wood Marion County Lebanon KY is a typical coaches’ daughter, understands the game, hits the open shot, and will get after it on defense.  5-9 Jr. Rachel Leath Boyle County Danville KY is an intense worker, rebounds, and can score.  5-7 Sr. Alexis Smith Fern Creek KY is a scorer and defender.  5-6 So. Elizabeth Bertram Barren County Glasgow KY is a combo guard and versatile at both ends of the floor.  5-9 Jr. Madeline Riley Crothersville IN is a versatile player who can play both inside and out.  5-8 Fr. Sarah Hicks Walton-Verona Walton KY is a medium range shooter and solid defender.  5-7 So. Jocelyn Spaulding Union County Morganfield KY is a good defending guard who crashes the boards.  5-8 So. Alexis Meyers Leslie County Hyden KY is a deadly accurate long range bomber.  5-6 So. Serri Lattimore Eastern Louisville KY is a team leader with excellent offensive/defensive skills.

 

The list does not stop here as there were several other players at all age levels who impressed today.  The skills, attitudes, and work ethics were apparent as this was a very busy day and all the young ladies worked extremely hard.  Also, a shout our to the parents who are the unsung heroes at these events as we all know these bleacher seats get hard after a ten hour day.
