Clay County defeated Lincoln County 66-63 in a double overtime thriller.  Clay County shot 22 of 38 on 2-pt field goals and two of seven from the three point line.  The Lady Tigers connected on 16 of 26 free throws and pulled down 33 rebounds.  Lincoln County shot 16 of 33 on 2-pt field goals and seven of 15 from the three point line.  The Lady Patriots connected on 10 of 18 free throws and pulled down 15 rebounds.

5-11 Sr. Cheyenne Madden led Clay county with 33 points and 10 rebounds.  5-11 Sr. Morgan Chesnut added 23 points and 16 rebounds.

6-0 Sr. Sydney Harris led Lincoln County with 15 points.  5-8 Sr. Emily Fox and 5-9 Sr. Kourtney Belcher added 14 points each.

Bell County captured a hard fought 71-68 victory over a very determined McCreary Central squad tonight.  Bell county shot 50% from the field including nine of 18 from the three point line.  They connected on 10 of 14 free throws and pulled down 32 rebounds.

6-0 So. Maci Morris led Bell County with 33 points and nine rebounds.  Morris was 12 of 18 from the field including three of five from beyond the arc and six of nine from the free throw line.  5-4 So. Jessica Sanders and 5-8 Fr. Katrina Johnson added 11 and nine points respectively.

5-8 Fr. Kaylee Cotton led McCreary Central with 30 points and 12 rebounds.  Cotton was 12 of 16 from the field including five of five from beyond the arc and one of one from the free throw line.  5-6 Sr. Kisha Gibson added 14 points and 5-8 Sr. Candance Foster recorded 10 points and 13 rebounds.

Whitley County outscored Corbin 27-16 in the second quarter on their way to a 76-67 victory over Corbin.  Corbin rallied and cut the margin to one; 61-60 midway through the final quarter but Whitley County pulled away for the victory. The victory was costly for Whitley County as they lost 5-4 So. Hallie Jones with an ankle injury.  Corbin was plagued by poor free throw shooting as they were only able to connect on nine of 25 from the charity stripe.

Whitley County shot 57.1% from the field including 10 of 21 from the three point line.  They connected on 18 of 25 from the free throw line and pulled down 28 rebounds.  Corbin shot 44.1% from the field including six of 13 from beyond the arc.  They connected on nine of 25 free throws and pulled down 24 rebounds.

5-7 Jr. Brandi Smith led Whitley County with 33 points including 14 of 16 free throws and pulled down seven rebounds.  5-8 Jr. Maria Johnson added 13 points and seven rebounds.  5-4 Sr. Bethany Powers chipped in with 10 points.

5-7 Jr. Kayla Wilson and 5-6 Jr. Miranda Wilson led Corbin with 15 points each.  6-0 Sr. Holli Disney added 11 points and seven rebounds.  5-7 Jr. Sarah Ashley also recorded 11 points.

Destiny Carter led Henry Clay with 16 points.  T’laya Lyvers added 11 points and four steals.  Areanna Porter recorded 10 points and 12 rebounds.

Gabby Bowie, 5-7 Jr. Hadyn White, and 5-8 Jr. Holly Manella.  Burgin coach Ray Daniels countered with 5-8 Jr. Liz Marcinek, 5-7 Sr. Tessa Perez, 5-9 Sr. Randi Burke, 5-3 Jr. Summer Burke, and 5-6 Fr. Taylor Shepherd.

Burgin defeated Sayre by a score of 41-33.  Sayre’s Gabby Bowie was hampered with foul problems tonight and was limited to only 22:08 minutes of playing time and eventually fouled out of the game.  Burgin had an opportunity to win by a more comfortable margin but could only connect on eight of 25 from the free throw line.  Burgin shot 34.1% from the field including five of 16 from the free throw line.  The Lady Bulldogs pulled down 29 rebounds and scored 12 points off 20 Sayre turnovers.  Sayre shot 31.8% from the field including two of six from beyond the arc.  The Lady Spartans connected on three of six free throws, pulled down 37 rebounds, and scored seven points off 12 Burgin turnovers.

Taylor Shepherd led Burgin with 15 points including four three point baskets and pulled down eight rebounds.  Liz Marcinek added 10 points, four assists, and six steals.  Randi Burke recorded eight points and 10 rebounds.  Summer Burke also scored eight points.

Molly Manella led Sayre with 23 points.  Gabby Bowie recorded six points, seven rebounds, and four blocked shots.

Sacred Heart Academy trailed 20-10 in the second quarter but rallied for a 59-57 victory over St. Joseph (MO).  Dai Jia Ruffin hit two free throws and a layup down the stretch to break a 55-55 tie and give the Valkyries the victory.  Sacred Heart shot 41.5% from the field including five of 17 from the three point line.  The Valkyries connected on 10 of 17 free throws, pulled down 24 rebounds, and scored 23 points off 18 St. Joseph turnovers.  St. Joseph shot 53.7% from the field including one of three from beyond the arc.  The Angels connected on 12 of 15 free throws, pulled down 35 rebounds, and scored six points off five Sacred Hart turnovers.

Justin Sanders scored a layup on an excellent assist from Quinn Pergande with 30 seconds left in the game to give Sayre a 38-36 victory over St. Patrick’s in a hard fought game.  Sayre led 31-21 in the third quarter but St. Patrick’s rallied to tie the game on a three point shot by William McKay with 55 seconds left in the game.  The score was tied three times and there were seven lead changes in the game.

Sayre shot 26.9% from the field including five of 17 from the three point line.  The Spartans connected on five of 10 free throws, pulled down 42 rebounds, and scored 13 points off 21 St. Patrick’s turnovers.  St. Patrick’s shot 32.6% from the field including five of 13 from beyond the arc.  The Saints connected on three of 10 free throws, pulled down 32 rebounds, and scored 12 points off 19 Sayre turnovers.

Justin Sanders led Sayre with 16 points, eight rebounds, seven assists, and four steals.  Ben Davis added nine points on three three point baskets.  Quinn Pergande recorded seven points, 10 rebounds, and two blocked shots.

William McKay led St. Patrick’s with 14 points including four three point baskets and six rebounds.  Andrew Sticklen added nine points, nine rebounds, and two blocked shots.  Andrew Brant chipped in with eight points and six rebounds.

Lexington Catholic raced out to a 23-8 first quarter lead on their way to a 57-40 victory over Lexington Christian Academy.  Lexington Catholic shot 47.1% from the field including three of 15 from the three point line.  The Lady Knights connected on six of eight free throws, pulled down 42 rebounds, and scored 20 points off 19 LCA turnovers.  LCA shot 23.5% from the field including six of 22 from beyond the arc.  The Lady Eagles connected on 10 of 14 free throws, pulled down 27 rebounds, and scored 12 points off 22 Lexington Catholic turnovers.

Caroline Lynch led a balanced Lexington Catholic scoring attack with 10 points and five rebounds.  Rachel Blake added nine points and seven rebounds.  Octavia Wilson recorded eight points, five rebounds, and 11 assists.  5-5 Jr. Suzanne Miller and 5-10 Jr. Hannah Gadberry each chipped in with seven points.

Katelin Bundy led LCA with 20 points including three three point baskets and five steals.  Savannah Compton added six points and nine rebounds.  Kristin Rinehart chipped in with six points, six rebounds, and four assists.
