John Hardin improved their season record to 2-0 with a 47-37 victory in a wild shootout that featured a lot of offense and a ton of penalties.  Lexington Catholic drops to 1-1 for the season.  The teams combined for 889 yards of offense and combined for 207 yards on penalties.  John Hardin QB Eli Mitchell threw five touchdown passes and RB Jeremy Harness ran for 198 yards.

John Hardin recorded 13 first downs and 449 yards of total offense.  They were penalized 10 times for 105 yards and lost four fumbles.  Lexington Catholic recorded 19 first downs and 440 yards of total offense.  The Knights were penalized 12 times for 102 yards and had three passes intercepted.

Jeremy Harness led John Hardin’s ground game with 198 yards and a touchdown on eight carries.  Quinsie Brown added 59 yards and a touchdown on 11 carries.  Eli Mitchell completed seven of 11 passes for 198 yards and five touchdowns.  Wade Holtsclaw caught three passes for 56 yards and two tiuchdowns.  Jeremy Harness added two receptions for 50 yards and two touchdowns.  Jalen Fleming caught a 62 yard scoring strike.  Dominick Brown led the defense with seven solo and four assisted tackles.  Quinsie Brown added seven solo tackles.  Mark Thompson recorded four solo tackles, two assisted tackles, and intercepted two passes.  Jeremy Harness also intercepted a pass.

Marcelis Logan led the Lexington Catholic ground game with 54 yards on 11 carries.  Kyle Bolin completed 24 of 44 passes for 344 yards and a touchdown with three interceptions.  Adam Bush caught six passes for 71 yards.  David Bouvier added five receptions for 53 yards.  Casey Nash recorded four receptions for 144 yards and a touchdown.  Mike Lynch led the defense with five solo tackles, two assisted tackles, and a fumble recovery.  Adam Wachs added five solo tackles.  Alex Nash recorded four solo tackles with three of his tackles resulting in losses totalling 25 yards.  Josh Mesmer added three solo tackles, two assisted tackles, and scored on a 31 yard fumble recovery return.

Knox Central improved their season record to 2-0 with a 21-13 victory over West Jessamine .  The Colts fell to 0-2 for the season.  Knox Central led 14-7 late in the game but West Jessamine scored on a nine yard run by Devin Taylor with 1:58 left on the clock but the extra point attempt was missed leaving the score at 14-13.  Johnathan Gist scored on a 32 yard run with 30 seconds left on the clock and Codi Diamond added the extra point to give Knox Central the final victory margin.  Knox Central’s offensive and defensive lines played well tonight with the O-Line opening up holes to allow their backs to roll up 264 yards on 40 carries for a 6.6 yard per attempt.

Knox Central recorded 16 first downs and 317 yards of total offense.  They were penalized nine times for 61 yards and lost a fumble.  West Jessamine recorded 13 first downs and 243 yards of total offense.  The Colts were penalized eight times for 90 yards and had one pass intercepted.

Jeffrey Canady led Knox Central’s ground attack with 142 yards and a touchdown on 14 carries.  Johnathan Gist carried the ball 15 times for 91 yards with two touchdowns.  Jonathan Barger completed four of 14 passes for 53 yards.  Devin Evans caught one pass for 25 yards.  Jeffrey Canady added one reception for 18 yards.  John Shephard led the defense with four solo tackles and three assisted tackles.  Tyler Grubb and Devin Evans added four solo tackles each.  

Ryan Horne led West Jessamine’s ground game with 67 yards on nine carries.  Ryan Horne completed 10 of 19 passes for 115 yards and a touchdown with one interception.  Will Knight caught four passes for 80 yards.  Robert Irgang led the defense with seven solo and two assisted tackles.  Carter Hahn added five solo and two assisted tackles.  Hunter Knuckles recorded four solo tackles, two assisted tackles, and recovered a fumble.  Three of his tackles resulted in losses totalling 18 yards.

Ryle utilized the running of Travis Elliott and a srong defensive effort to improve their record to 2-0 in a 43-8 victory over Tates Creek.  The Commodores dropped to 1-1 for the season.  Ryle recorded 20 first downs and 393 yards of total offense.  They were penalized nine times for 75 yards, lost a fumble and had one pass intercepted.  Tates Creek recorded 13 first downs and 161 yards of total offense.  The Commodores were penalized six times for 32 yards, lost a fumble and had one pass intercepted.

Travis Elliott led Ryle’s ground game with 164 yards and four touchdowns on 21 carries.  Nathan Davis added 75 yards and a touchdown on nine carries.  Jake Nutter carried the ball five times for 49 yards and a touchdown.  Nathan Davis completed six of 12 passes for 75 yards with one interception.  Andrew Radilla caught three passes for 33 yards.  Ryan Smith and Mason Lehmkuhl each added two receptions for 39 and 35 yards respectively.  Mac Vollett led the defense with four solo and six assisted tackles.  Daniel Osborne added three solo and five assisted tackles.

Casey Grimes led Tates Creek’s ground game with 72 yards and a touchdown on 14 carries.  M. Wilkerson carried the ball eight times for 39 yards.  Martell Berry completed three of 13 passes for 14 yards with one interception.  Stefan Joslin caught one pass for 11 yards.  Dennis Oxendine led the defense with seven solo tackles, three assisted tackles, and a pass interception.  Tony Compton added three solo and six assisted tackles.

Eastern raced out to a 23-0 lead in the third quarter and withstood a late Bryan Station rally to claim a 30-21 victory.  Eastern utilized the pin point passing of Tanner Evans and a defense that held Bryan Station to a minus four yards on the ground to earn the victory.  Eastern recorded 25 first downs and 469 yards of total offense.  They were penalized nine times for 87 yards, lost two fumbles and had two passes intercepted.  Bryan Station recorded 15 first downs and 248 yards of total offense.  The Defenders were penalized eight times for 72 yards and lost a fumble.

Alex Elliot led Eastern’s ground game with 64 yards and a touchdown on 13 carries.  Jimmy Brannon carried the ball nine times for 48 yards.  Tanner Evans completed 21 of 30 passes for 291 yards and two touchdowns with two interceptions.  Jimmy Brannon caught six passes for 74 yards and two touchdowns.  Austin Kessler added five receptions for 80 yards.  Shane Fields caught four passes for 72 yards.  Devonte Dawson led the defense with four solo and five assisted tackles with three of his tackles resulting in losses totalling 12 yards.  Caleb McMahan also recorded four solo and five assisted tackles with three of his tackles resulting in losses totalling 19 yards.

Everett Talbert led Bryan Station’s ground game with 29 yards and a touchdown on four carries.  Ora Johnson completed 13 of 23 passes for 177 yards.  Tyus Alcorn completed two of four passes for 75 yards and a touchdown.  Tyus Alcorn caught three passes for 47 yards.  Kenyon Hippe added two receptions for 104 yards and a touchdown.  Everett Talbert led the defense with seven solo and three assisted tackles.  Austin Hendron added four solo and seven assisted tackles.  Kenyon Hippe and Charles Randle each intercepted a pass.

Harlan County’s talented backs enjoyed a banner day running behind a strong offensive line in a 48-20 victory over Paul L. Dunbar.  The Black Bears ran for 557 yards averaging nine yards a carry as they improved to 2-0 for the season.  Paul L. Dunbar fell to 0-1 for the season.  Harlan County recorded 27 first downs and 598 yards of total offense.  The Black Bears were penalized 12 times for 110 yards.  Paul L. Dunbar recorded 12 first downs and 188 yards of total offense.  The Bulldogs were penalized twice for 16 yards.

Jake Middleton led Harlan County’s ground game with 220 yards and a touchdown on 19 carries.  Marcus McMillan carried the ball 22 times for 214 yards and three touchdowns.  Jordy Brewer added 52 yards and a touchdown on seven carries.  Jordy Brewer completed three of four passes for 41 yards and a touchdown.  Tucker Lewis led the defense with four solo and three assisted tackles with 1.5 of his tackles resulting in losses totalling seven yards.  Kainer Caudill added four solo and two assisted tackles with 2.5 of his tackles resulting in losses totalling eight yards.

The Paul Dunbar ground game was led by John Rose with 76 yards and one touchdown on six carries.  Blake Martin added 40 yards and two touchdowns on 13 carries.  Isaih Olige carried the ball five times for 33 yards.  Blake Martin completed two of 15 passes for 41 yards.  Emory Thompson caught one pass for 33 yards.  Dan Mulert led the defense with six solo and four assisted tackles.  Brandyn Duncan added seven solo and one assisted tackles.

QB Seth Carmichael threw three touchdown passes in the second half as Anderson County pulled away for a 42-7 victory over Lincoln County.  Anderson County improves their record to 1-1 while Lincoln County falls to 1-1 for the season.  The score was tied 7-7 late in the first half before Anderson County scored with one minute left in the first half to take a 14-7 lead to the locker room.  It was all Anderson County in the second half as they scored 28 unanswered points.

Anderson County recorded 21 first downs and 481 yards of total offense.  The Bearcats were penalized eight times for 75 yards and lost a fumble.  Lincoln County recorded 15 first downs and 180 yards of total offense.  The Patriots were not penalized tonight, lost one fumble, and had a pass intercepted.

Ethan Kelly led the Anderson County ground game with 155 yards and a touchdown on 18 carries.  Seth Carmichael carried the ball six times for 49 yards and a touchdown.  Seth Carmichael completed 11 of 17 passes for 209 yards and three touchdowns.  B. Deon Shannon led Lincoln County’s ground game with 56 yards and a touchdown on 13 carries.  Ryan Otto completed 10 of 17 passes for 82 yards with one interception.  Cameron Honaker caught eight passes for 67 yards.  Jonathan Hardwick led the defense with three solo and four assisted tackles.  Vinney Morris added three solo and three assisted tackles.

Scott County raced out to a 29-0 first quarter lead and never looked back as they improved their season record to 2-0 with a 55-6 victory over Webster County.  Scott County recorded eight first downs and 309 yards of total offense.  The Cardinals were penalized six times for 97 yards and lost two fumbles.  Webster County recorded only two first downs and 69 yards of total offense.  They were penalized five times for 35 yards, lost two fumbles, and had a pass intercepted.

Dillon Smith led Scott County’s ground game with 41 yards on four carries.  Kevo Edwards carried the ball twice for 37 yards and a touchdowm.  Josh Walls added 36 yards and a touchdown on five carries.  Ben Lawler completed five of five passes for 80 yards and two touchdowns.  Scott Daniel caught four passes for 72 yards and a touchdown.  Jordan Kindred led the defense with three solo and one assisted tackles. 

Ben Payne led Webster County’s ground game with 41 yards and a touchdown on 15 carries.  Landon Harting completed four of 11 passes for 26 yards.  JD Newton caught two passes for 19 yards.  Brock Wilson led the defense with three solo and six assisted tackles.  Landon Harting added five solo and one assisted tackles.

Trinity defeated Montgomery Bell by a score of 66-21.  Trinity improves to 2-0 for the season while Montgomery Bell falls to 1-1.  Trinity recorded 26 first downs and 630 yards of total offense.  The Shamrocks were penalized six times for 47 yards .  Montgomery Bell recorded 10 first downs and 337 yards of total offense.  Montgomery Bell was penalized four times fo 23 yards and had two passes intercepted.

D. Dawkins led Trinity’s ground game with 149 yards and two touchdowns on 16 carries.  G. Sauer carried the ball eight times for 85 yards and one touchdown.  T. Wright completed 16 of 17 passes for 336 yards and five touchdowns.  J. Quick caught nine passes for 153 yards and three touchdowns.  A. Wall caught four passes for 99 yards and one touchdown.  D. Bertram led the defense with six solo tackles with four of his tackles resulting in losses totalling eight yards.  H. Brewer and A. Reynolds each intercepted a pass.

J. Donald led Montgomery Bell’s ground game with 97 yards and a touchdown on nine carries.  D. Hall completed 10 of 24 passes for 215 yards and two touchdowns with two interceptions.  B. Best caught three passes for 138 yards and a touchdown.  J. Bachmann led the defense with six solo and five assisted tackles.  C. Hooper added four solo and two assisted tackles.

Franklin County exploded for 62 points in a 62-0 rout of Western Hills.  Franklin County improves to 2-0 for the season while Western Hills falls to 0-2.  Franklin County recorded 17 first downs and 471 yards of total offense.  The Flyers were penalized 11 times for 117 yards.  Western Hills recorded 10 first downs and 66 yards of total offense.  They were penalized five times for 34 yards and lost two fumbles.

Ryan Timmons led Franklin County’s ground game with 105 yards and a touchdown on four carries.  Daniel Anderson carred the ball three times for 66 yards and a touchdown.  Chris Roberts added 45 yards on six carries.  Logan Woodside completed 11 of 16 passes for 250 yards and four touchdowns.  Ryan Timmons caught three passes for 88 yards and two touchdowns.  Chris Roberts added three receptions for 58 yards.  Sean Jarboe caught two passes for 44 yards and a touchdown.  Damani Aziz led the defense with six solo and one assisted tackles.  Jay Brough added four solo and four assisted tackles with five of his tackles resulting in losses totalling 19 yards.

Jordan Taylor led Western Hill’s ground game with 33 yards on seven carries.  Adam Aldbhany added 25 yards on seven carries.  Austin Smith completed five of 15 passes for 39 yards.  Logan Curry caught four passes for 31 yards.  C. Bowling Green improved their record to 2-0 with an impressive 35-14 victory over Henry Clay who dropped to 0-2 for the season.  Henry Clay was short-handed tonight as their top offensive threat Vinny Miller missed his second straight game due to personal issues.  One of the Blue Devils top defenders Darius Fields missed tonight’s game as a result of an injury suffered last week.

Bowling Green recorded 26 first downs and 550 yards of total offense.  The Purples were penalized 11 times for 83 yards and lost two fumbles.  Henry Clay recorded seven first downs and 89 yards of total offense.  The Blue Devils were penalized three times for 25 yards and had two passes intercepted.

Hunter Neveras led the Bowling Green ground game with 98 yards and four touchdowns on 13 carries.  Blue Tisdale added 70 yards on four carries.  Scooter Hollis carried the ball eight times for 52 yards.  Scooter Hollis completed 19 of 24 passes for 281 yards and one touchdown.  Nacarius Fant caught 10 passes for 156 yards and one touchdown.  Jalen Hunter caught five passes for 68 yards.  Houston Natcher led the defense with four solo and two assisted tackles.  Chase Proctor added four solo and one assisted tackles.  Jackson Sowell and Herbert Scruggs each intercepted a pass.

Sammy Carter led Henry Clay’s ground game with 26 yards on six carries.  Anthony Lindsey carried the ball four times for 19 yards and a touchdown.  Sammy Carter completed three of six passes for 18 yards and a touchdown with two interceptions.  Austin Black caught three passes for 11 yards.  Evander Harris caught a 17 yard TD pass.  Lakwon Givens led the defense with six solo and five assisted tackles with three of his tackles resulting in losses totalling 10 yards.  Cole McCarty added six solo and three assisted tackles with one of his tackles resulting in a 16 yard loss.  Davion Jackson recorded four solo tackes, four assisted tackles, and had a 44 yard fumble recovery return.
