Franklin County exploded for 62 points in a 62-0 rout of Western Hills.  Franklin County improves to 2-0 for the season while Western Hills falls to 0-2.  Franklin County recorded 17 first downs and 471 yards of total offense.  The Flyers were penalized 11 times for 117 yards.  Western Hills recorded 10 first downs and 66 yards of total offense.  They were penalized five times for 34 yards and lost two fumbles.

Ryan Timmons led Franklin County’s ground game with 105 yards and a touchdown on four carries.  Daniel Anderson carred the ball three times for 66 yards and a touchdown.  Chris Roberts added 45 yards on six carries.  Logan Woodside completed 11 of 16 passes for 250 yards and four touchdowns.  Ryan Timmons caught three passes for 88 yards and two touchdowns.  Chris Roberts added three receptions for 58 yards.  Sean Jarboe caught two passes for 44 yards and a touchdown.  Damani Aziz led the defense with six solo and one assisted tackles.  Jay Brough added four solo and four assisted tackles with five of his tackles resulting in losses totalling 19 yards.

Jordan Taylor led Western Hill’s ground game with 33 yards on seven carries.  Adam Aldbhany added 25 yards on seven carries.  Austin Smith completed five of 15 passes for 39 yards.  Logan Curry caught four passes for 31 yards.  C. Wilkins led the defense with four solo tackles.  Devon Rowland added three solo and two assisted tackles.

Bowling Green improved their record to 2-0 with an impressive 35-14 victory over Henry Clay who dropped to 0-2 for the season.  Henry Clay was short-handed tonight as their top offensive threat Vinny Miller missed his second straight game due to personal issues.  One of the Blue Devils top defenders Darius Fields missed tonight’s game as a result of an injury suffered last week.

Bowling Green recorded 26 first downs and 550 yards of total offense.  The Purples were penalized 11 times for 83 yards and lost two fumbles.  Henry Clay recorded seven first downs and 89 yards of total offense.  The Blue Devils were penalized three times for 25 yards and had two passes intercepted.

Hunter Neveras led the Bowling Green ground game with 98 yards and four touchdowns on 13 carries.  Blue Tisdale added 70 yards on four carries.  Scooter Hollis carried the ball eight times for 52 yards.  Scooter Hollis completed 19 of 24 passes for 281 yards and one touchdown.  Nacarius Fant caught 10 passes for 156 yards and one touchdown.  Jalen Hunter caught five passes for 68 yards.  Houston Natcher led the defense with four solo and two assisted tackles.  Chase Proctor added four solo and one assisted tackles.  Jackson Sowell and Herbert Scruggs each intercepted a pass.

Sammy Carter led Henry Clay’s ground game with 26 yards on six carries.  Anthony Lindsey carried the ball four times for 19 yards and a touchdown.  Sammy Carter completed three of six passes for 18 yards and a touchdown with two interceptions.  Austin Black caught three passes for 11 yards.  Evander Harris caught a 17 yard TD pass.  Lakwon Givens led the defense with six solo and five assisted tackles with three of his tackles resulting in losses totalling 10 yards.  Cole McCarty added six solo and three assisted tackles with one of his tackles resulting in a 16 yard loss.  Davion Jackson recorded four solo tackes, four assisted tackles, and had a 44 yard fumble recovery return.

Bell County trailed 26-14 at halftime but rallied to defeat Lafayette by a score of 32-26.  Cory Davenport scored on a one yard run to give Bell County the 32-26 lead with 2:17 left in the game.  Lafayette had one more chance but Bell County intercepted a pass and ran out the clock to earn the victory and even their record at 1-1.  Lafayette drops to 1-1 for the season after opening the season with a 50-0 victory over Mason County.

Bell County recorded 16 first downs and 313 yards of total offense all of it on the ground.  They were penalized five times for 55 yards and lost two fumbles.  Lafayette recorded 17 first downs and 219 yards of total offense.  The Generals were penalized seven times for 67 yards, lost a fumble and had two passes intercepted.

Cory Davenport led Bell County’s ground game with 193 yards and three touchdowns on 25 carries.  Jonathan Polly added 77 yards on 16 carries.  Corey Oslonian attempted two passes without any completions.  Jeffrey Saylor led the defense with five solo and five assisted tackles.  Eric Miller added three solo and five assisted tackles.  Tyler Green and Dakota Collett each intercepted a pass.

William Johnson led Lafayette’s ground attack with 54yards and a touchdown on 11 carries.  Jeremy Smith completed nine of 22 passes for 114 yards and two touchdowns with one interception.  Darius Hughes caught three passes for 23 yards.  Tranard Chester caught two passes for 36 yards and a touchdown.  Brandon Epps added a 12 yard scoring reception.  Justin Carr led the defense with five solo tackles, 12 assisted tackles, and also recovered a fumble.  Jason Ferguson added three solo and seven assisted tackles.  TJ Broadus recorded four solo and four assisted tackles.

Lafayette took an early lead and was never threatened in a 50-0 victory over Mason County.  Lafayette recorded 16 first downs and 364 yards of total offense.  The Generals were penalized five times for 41 yards and had two passes intercepted.  Mason County recorded eight first downs and 115 yards of total offense.  The Royals were penalized seven times for 40 yards, lost two fumbles and had one pass intercepted.

William Johnson led Lafayette’s ground game with 71 yards and two touchdowns on 14 carries.  Dar. Jefferson added 44 yards and a touchdown on eight carries.  Jeremy Smith completed nine of 20 passes for 179 yards and a touchdown with two interceptions.  Darius Hughes caught six passes for 94 yards.  Trenard Chester added two receptions for 79 yards and a touchdown.  Justin Carr led the defense with two solo and 10 assisted tackles.  Jason Ferguson added two solo and three assisted tackles.

Ted Huron led the Mason County ground game with 46 yards on seven carries.  Josh Harris added 32 yards on 11 carries.  Jake O’Mara completed six of 18 passes for 32 yards with one interception.  Tyler Black caught one pass for 27 yards.  Michael Strawn led the defense with three solo and six assisted tackles.  Dustin Chenault added three solo and four assisted tackles.  Trae Lofton and Josh Harris each intercepted a pass.

Scott County put this one in the win column early as the Cardinals raced out to a 45-0 halftime lead on their way to a 45-6 victory over Seneca.  The defense recovered two fumbles, intercepted two passes and scored on two fumble recovery returns.  Scott County recorded 13 first downs and 253 yards of total offense.  The Cardinals were penalized four times for 29 yards and had one pass intercepted.  Seneca recorded nine first down and 132 yards of total offense.  They were penalized four times for 30 yards, lost two fumbles, and had two passes intercepted.

Hunter Nelson led the Scott County ground game with 48 yards and a touchdown on five carries.  Dier. Dumphord rushed for two touchdowns.  Ben Lawler completed six of seven passes for 114 yards and a touchdown.  Scott Daniel caught three passes for 83 yards and a touchdown.  JT True led the defense with six solo and four asssited tackles.  Damon Gray added two solo and six assisted tackles.  Gray also intercepted a pass.  Kevo Edwards and Avery Ford both returned recovered fumbles for touchdowns.

Cody Mills led Seneca’s ground game with 25 yards on 10 carries.  Lincoln Dover completed 11 of 26 passes for 127 yards with two interceptions.  Cody Mills caught three passes for 26 yards.  Deshawn Rushin caught two passes for 54 yards.  Tyrone Pearson led the defense with three solo and two assisted tackles.  Michael Chase added two solo and two assisted tackles.

Newport Central Catholic 42  Dixie Heights 13 – Brady Hightchew threw TD passes of 4, 35, and 34 yards and scored on a 9 yard run to lead the Thoroughbreds to victory.  QB Zeke Pike did not play tonight for Dixie Heights.

Breathitt County 53  Estill County 6 – Richard Trent scored on runs of 41, 5, and 29 yards and threw TD passes of 26 and 48 yards to Wes Noble to pace the Bobcats.

Covington Catholic 42  Campbell County 2 – QB Blake Bir threw TD passes of 14, 12, 12, and 47 yards to lead the Colonels.

Bardstown 27  Spencer County 7 – QB Jordan Brewer ran for TDs of 11 and 37 yards and threw an 8 yard TD pass to Anthony Myrks to lead Bardstown.

Letcher County Central captured a double overtime 35-34 thriller over Madison Central tonight.  Letcher County Central raced out to a 16-0 lead and looked like they would dominate the play tonight but Madison Central rallied behind the electrifying play of Dominique Hawkins.  The score was 28-28 at the end of regulation and the first overtime was scoreless.  Madison Central scored on a Hunter Stocker three yard run but failed on the conversion pass to take a 34-28 lead in the second overtime.  Letcher County was facing a fourth-and-goal from the 35 when Logan Johnson launched the ball toward the endzone.  The ball went through the defenders hands into the arms of Keaston Hall for the game tying touchdown.  Sidney Fields, who had missed two earlier conversion kicks calmly booted the ball through the uprights for the victory.

Letcher County Central recorded 20 first downs and 334 yards of total offense.  The Cougars were penalized six times for 46 yards, lost two fumbles, and had a pass intercepted.  Madison Central recorded 10 first downs and 280 yards of total offense.  The Indians were penalized five times for 49 yards.

Drew Bentley led the Letcher Central ground game with 76 yards and a touchdown on 19 carries.  Logan Johnson completed 19 of 33 passes for 176 yards and four touchdowns with one interception.  Keaston Hall caught four passes for 53 yards and two touchdowns.  Drew Bentley caught four passes for 31 yards and a touchdown.  Koree Stewart led the defense with four solo and nine assisted tackles with 3.5 of his tackles resulting in losses totalling 12 yards.  Sidney Fields added two solo and six assisted tackles with 3.5 of his tackles resulting in losses totalling 14 yards.

Dominique Hawkins led Madison Central’s ground attack with 251 yards on 14 carries including TD runs of 99 and 55 yards.  Hunter Stocker completed four of 13 passes for 23 yards and a touchdown.  Ken Jah Bosley caught two passes for 23 yards and a touchdown. Austin Coyle led the defense with seven solo and six assisted tackles with 2.5 of his tackles resulting in losses totalling five yards and also recovered a fumble.  Jon Floyd added five solo and eight assisted tackles with 2.5 of his tackles resulting in losses totalling 14 yards.

Southwestern had opportunities in the first half but could not capitialize and Boone County dominated the second half to earn a 28-6 victory.  Boone County recorded 11 first downs and 283 yards of total offense.  The Rebels were penalized six times for 40 yards and lost two fumbles.  Southwestern recorded 14 first downs and 209 yards of total offense.  The Warriors were penalized five times for 30 yards and lost a fumble.

Bryson Thompson led the Boone County ground attack with 79 yards and a touchdown on seven carries.  Drew Stuck carried the ball eight times for 38 yards.  Kameron Schwartz completed six of 12 passes for 140 yards and two touchdowns.  Austin Howell caught two passes for 70 yards and a touchdown.  Jesse Schluze caught a 37 yard scoring pass.  Robbie Hiles led the defense with four solo and six assisted tackles.  Kurt Curry added four solo and four assisted tackles.  Cody Rodriguez recorded eight assisted tackles.

Dustin Powell led Southwestern’s ground game with 78 yards on 19 carries.  Logan Starnes completed nine of 23 passes for 144 yards and a touchdown.  Alan Williams caught five passes  for 88 yards.  Dustin Powell added two receptions for 37 yards and a touchdown.  Dalton Wilson led the defense with three solo and eight assisted tackles.  Cody Epperson recorded two solo tackles, seven assisted tackles, and recovered a fumble.

Ft. Knox’s Brandon Franklin threw five touchdown passes  in a 41-21 victory over Elizabethtown.  Ft. Knox recorded 12 first downs and 303 yards of total offense.  The Eagles were penalized 13 times for 76 yards, lost a fumble, and had two passes intercepted.  Elizabethtown recorded 18 first downs and 292 yards of total offense.  The Panthers were penalized 16 times for 148 yards, lost two fumbles, and had one pass intercepted.

Josh Kleber led Ft. Knox’s ground game with 68 yards and a touchdown on nine carries.  Brandon Franklin completed nine of 18 passes for 234 yards and five touchdowns with two interceptions.  Akio Tonge caught three passes for 109 yards and a touchdown.  Josh Kleber caught two passes for 76 yards and a touchdown.  Dakota Stokes led the defense with seven solo tackles, five assisted tackles, and an interception.

Lexington Catholic held on to defeat Bell County 33-27 on a rainy evening in which there was a 45 minute weather delay during the game.  Lexington Catholic took a 25-13 halftime lead but Bell County stormed back to take a 27-25 lead after three quarters.  Noah Mitchell scored on a two yard run and a two point conversion pass from Kyle Bolin to C. Zimmerman with 10:32 left in the game to give Lexington Catholic a 33-27 lead.  Bell County had one final opportunity and was stopped on downs at the Lexington Catholic 14 in the closing seconds.

Lexington Catholic recorded 13 first downs and 298 yards of total offense.  The Knights were penalized seven times for 55 yards and lost a fumble.  Bell County recorded 21 first downs and 386 yards of total offense including 376 yards on the ground.  Bell County was penalized twice for 10 yards, lost two fumbles, and had a pass intercepted.

Noah Mitchell led the Lexington Catholic ground game with 47 yards and a touchdown on eight carries.  Kyle Bolin completed 11 of 18 passes for 215 yards and two touchdowns.  Adam Bush caught four passes for 132 yards and two touchdowns.  David Bouvier caught three passes for 37 yards.  Alex Nash led the defense with five solo and five assisted tackles.  Mike Lynch added six solo and one assisted tackles.  Jordan Artrip recorded 11 assisted tackles and scored on a 10 yard fumble recovery.

Cory Davenport led Bell County’s ground attack with 256 yards and two touchdowns on 23 carries.  Jonathan Polly carried the ball 19 times for 113 yards and a touchdown.  Corey Oslonian completed one of two passes for 10 yards and a touchdown with one interception.  Jonathan Polly caught a 10 yard touchdown pass.  Brent Marsee led the defense with three solo and one assisted tackles.  Corey Oslonian, Tyler Green, and Dakota Collett each recorded three solo tackles.
