Tates Creek coach Wayne Breeden started the following lineup: 6-4 Sr. Marcellus Barksdale, 6-0 Jr. Darius Gibson, 6-2 Sr. Todd Bradley, 5-11 Sr. Kendall Mack, and 6-2 Sr. Ryan Fucci.  Madison Central coach Allen Feldhaus Jr. countered with 6-2 Sr. Nick Ford, 6-0 Jr. John O’Bryan, 6-6 jr. Hunter Allen, 6-3 Sr. Brenton Covington, and 6-0 So. Dominique Hawkins.

Tates Creek trailed 36-25 at halftime but rallied for a 55-48 victory over Madison Central.  Madison Central went cold from the field in the second half (23.5%) and was outscored 17-5 in the third quarter.

Tates Creek shot 40.9% from the field including two of 12 from the three point line.  The commodores connected on 17 of 24 free throws, pulled down 30 rebounds, and scored 13 points off 11 Madison Central turnovers.  Madison Central shot 37.2% from the field including three of 11 from beyond the arc.  The Indians connected on 13 of 22 free throws, pulled down 30 rebounds, and scored four points off eight Tates Creek turnovers.

Marcellus Barksdale led Tates Creek with 15 points and six rebounds.  Ryan Fucci added 13 points, eight rebounds, and seven assists.  Todd Bradley chipped in with 10 points.

Hunter Allen led Madison Central with 11 points and six rebounds.  Dominique Hawkins added 10 points.  6-3 So. Quan Taylor recorded seven points and seven rebounds.

Morgan Chestnut, 5-9 Jr. Sabrina Smith, 6-1 Sr. Whitney Belle Jackson, 5-4 Jr. Alisha Mitchell, and 5-7 Sr. Kayla Smith.  Casey County coach Randy Salyers countered with 5-9 Sr. Jamie Wesley, 5-8 Sr. BJ Hogue, 5-9 Sr. Katy Laman, 5-6 So. Jasmine Johnson, and 5-8 Sr. Nicole Coffman.

Clay County shot a blistering 62.9% from the field and utilized their strength in the paint to defeat Casey County 62-41.  Clay County shot 62.9% from the field including two of five from the three point line.  The Lady Tigers connected on 16 of 20 free throws, pulled down 31 rebounds, and scored 15 points off nine Casey County turnovers.  Casey County shot 32.7% from the field including four of 20 from beyond the arc.  The Lady Rebels connected on five of nine free throws, pulled down 16 rebounds, and scored nine points off 14 Clay County turnovers.

Morgan Chestnut led Clay County with 18 points and eight rebounds.  Chestnut was five of six from the field and eight of 10 from the free throw line.  Whitney Belle Jackson and Kayla Smith each recorded 12 points and seven rebounds.  Alisha Mitchell recorded 10 points including two three point baskets.

Nicole Coffman led Casey County with 19 points including two three point baskets.  BJ Hogue and 5-6 8th grader Lakken Miller each scored eight points.

Lafayette led 37-16 early in the third quarter on their way to a 59-48 victory over Woodford County.  Lafayette shot 42.2% from the field including four of 14 from the three point line.  The Lady Generals connected on 17 of 26 free throws, pulled down 34 rebounds, and scored 18 points off 13 Woodford County turnovers.  Woodford County shot 34.7% from the field including eight of 24 from beyond the arc.  The Yellowjackets connected on six of 12 free throws, pulled down 32 rebounds, and scored 11 points off 10 Lafayette turnovers.

Shomari Kendrick led Lafayette with 25 points and 15 rebounds.  Jariana Gillespie added 12 points and Sara Martin recorded 11 points including three three point baskets.

Catie Fletcher led Woodford County with 14 points including four three point baskets and pulled down eight rebounds.  5-9 8th grader Chelsey Ford added 12 points and eight rebounds.  Hannah Morgan chipped in with eight points and eight rebounds.

Lexington Catholic held a commanding edge (40-22) in points in the paint in a 62-49 victory over Central.  Lexington Catholic shot 54.5% from the field including two of five from the three point line.  The Lady Knights connected on 12 of 17 free throws, pulled down 42 rebounds, and scored 18 points off 14 Central turnovers.  Central shot 29% from the field including five of 22 from beyond the arc.  The Yellowjackets connected on four of 12 free throws, pulled down 35 rebounds, and scored 18 points off 26 lexington Catholic turnovers.  Central attempted 25 more shots (69-44) from the field than Lexington Catholic.

Alex Botkin led Lexington Catholic with 23 points, 14 rebounds, three assists, and five steals.  Octavia Wilson added 12 points and six assists.

Brianna Averette led Central with 22 points including five three point baskets.  Crissa Washington added 12 points.

Lexington Catholic led 20-8 after the first quarter on their way to a 72-42 victory over Boyle County.  Lexington Catholic shot 38.6% from the field including one of six from the three point line.  The Lady Knights connected on 17 of 25 free throws, pulled down 54 rebounds, and scored 34 points off 26 Boyle County turnovers.  Lexington Catholic attempted 22 more shots (70-48) than boyle County.  Boyle County shot 31.3% from the field including five of 16 from beyond the arc.  The Lady Rebels connected on seven of 14 free throws, pulled down 32 rebounds, and scored 11 points off 15 Lexington Catholic turnovers.

Octavia Wilson led Lexington Catholic with 17 points, six rebounds, and four steals.  Alex Botkin added 12 points, 13 rebounds, seven assists, and four steals.  Emily Johns tallied nine points and eight rebounds.  Elizabeth Walton pulled down nine rebounds and Bonnie Rhule recorded seven points and seven steals.

So. Hannah Harris led Boyle County with nine points including two three point baskets.  Chelsea Gill and Megan Sutton each recorded six points.

Alex Botkin led Lexington Catholic with 21 points and five rebounds.  Octavia Wilson added 13 points and 10 assists.  Emily Johns recorded 11 points and seven rebounds.

St. Henry defeated Lexington Catholic 39-37 in a game in which neither team could find the range from the field.  Both teams shot below 30% from the field and the second quarter proved to be disasterous for Lexington Catholic as they were outscored 15-4.

St. Henry shot 26.5% from the field including three of 10 from the three point line.  The Lady Crusaders connected on 10 of 25 from the free throw line, pulled down 39 rebounds, and scored nine points off 19 Lexington Catholic turnovers.  Lexington Catholic shot 28.3% from the field including one of seven from beyond the arc.  The Lady Knights connected on 10 of 12 free throws, pulled down 38 rebounds, and scored nine points off 14 St. Henry turnovers.

Abby Janszen led St. Henry with 14 points, 14 rebounds, and five blocked shots.  Annie Fugate added eight rebounds.  Jessica Knaley and Tatlor Gamm each recorded seven points and eight rebounds.

Octavia Wilson led Lexington Catholic with 16 points.  Alex Botkin added 10 points and 10 rebounds.  Emily Johns chipped in with nine points and eight rebounds.

Fayette County GA 77  Bowling Green 61 3rd Place – Fayette County outscored Bowling Green 24-11 in the final quarter.  6-0 Sr. Adam Smith led the victors with 32 points including three three point baskets.  6-4 Jr. Kellen Sanford added 13 points.  6-7 Sr. Chane Behanan led Bowling Green with 22 points.  6-1 Sr. Austin Disney added 10 points.

 

Championship Game

 

Ballard 89  Lexington Catholic 76 – Ballard outscored Lexington Catholic 13-2 in the final minutes to break open a close game.  5-11 Fr. Quentin Snider led Ballard with 18 points including five three point baskets.  6-5 Fr. Kelan Martin added 15 points and eight rebounds.  5-11 So. Lavonne Holland also recorded 15 points.  6-3 Sr. DeVante Parker chipped in with 14 points and seven rebounds.  6-1 Sr. Danny Yackey also scored 14 points including four three point baskets.  6-5 Sr. Taylor Martin led Lexington Catholic with 27 points, six rebounds, six assists, and four steals.  Martin was 13 of 15 from the field and one of three from the free throw line.  6-4 Sr. Scott Schuette added 23 points including six three point baskets and pulled down six rebounds.  6-0 Sr. Seth Beckham chipped in with 13 points and six rebounds.

Lexington Catholic 69  Bowling Green 57 (Semifinal) – Lexington Catholic outscored Bowling Green 19-8 in the final quarter.  Lexington Catholic scored 38 points off 29 Bowling Green turnovers.  6-4 Sr. Scott Schuette led Lexington Catholic with 19 points including five three point baskets.  6-5 Sr. Taylor Martin added 16 points and seven rebounds.  6-0 Sr. Seth beckham chipped in with 12 points and eight assists.  5-10 Jr. Brian Woomer also reached double figures with 10 points.  6-7 Sr. Chane Behanan led Bowling Green with 20 points, 16 rebounds, and six steals.

 

Ballard 98  Fayette County GA 77 (Semifinal)  Ballard raced out to a 45-17 halftime lead on their way to victory.  Fayette County only shot 18.2% from the field in the first half.  6-3 Sr. DeVante Parker led Ballard with 28 points including three three point baskets.  5-11 Fr. Quentin Snider added 18 points including three three point baskets.  6-1 Sr. Danny Yackey scored 12 points on four three point baskets.  5-11 So. Lavonne Holland added 10 points.  6-0 Sr. Adam Smith led Fayette County GA with 28 points including four three point baskets.  6-5 Sr. Maurice Williams added 17 points.

Seneca 65  Oldham County 57 – 6-3 Sr. Martez Harris led Seneca  with 30 points.  Harris was 11 of 15 from the field including one of one from beyond the arc and seven of seven from the free throw line.  6-4 Sr. Walter Alexander added 14 points and six rebounds and 6-0 Sr. Kevin Shaw recorded 14 points and seven rebounds.  6-2 Sr. Blake Payne led Oldham County with 16 points.  6-5 Sr. Nolan DeNise added 15 points and 11 rebounds.  6-1 Sr. Dylan Henderson chipped in with 11 points.

 

University Heights Academy  63  Sheldon Clark 54 – 5-11 Sr. Matt McGowan led UHA with 23 points including four thee point baskets.  6-1 Sr. Keifer Blane added 14 points and 6-1 Sr. Jalen Ladd chipped in with 10 points.  6-1 Jr. BJ Moore led Sheldon Clark with 22 points.  6-3 So. Chase Kirk added 13 points including three three point baskets.  6-2 Sr. Tyler Lafferty recorded 11 points including three three point baskets.

 

Warren Central 71  Paducah Tilghman 57 – 6-1 Sr. Vic Smith, 6-7 Sr. George Fant, and 5-11 Sr. Jordan Shanklin led Warren Central with 19, 15, and 13 points respectively.  5-11 Sr. Trevonte Cole led Paducah Tilghman with 19 points including five three point baskets.  6-4 So. Darrius Brown added 11 points.

 

Betsy Layne 63  Covington Scott 62 – 6-5 Sr. Nathan Martin led Betsy Layne with 30 points and 11 rebounds.  6-1 Jr. Andrew Roberts added 12 points.  6-1 Sr. Kellen Smith led Scott with 16 points including three three point baskets and dished out nine assists.  5-11 Sr. Ryan Stivers added 11 points including three three point baskets.  6-6 Sr. Phillip Roberts recorded 10 points, 16 rebounds, and seven blocked shots.

Lavonne Holland, and 5-9 Sr. Jordan Parrish added 15, 12, and 11 points respectively.  6-7 Sr. Jake Thelen led Covington Catholic with 24 points and eight rebounds.  6-5 Sr. Alex Connelly added 15 points.

 

Fayette County GA 72  Henry Clay 67 (Quarterfinal) – 6-0 Sr. Adam Smith led the victors with 26 points and eight rebounds.  6-5 Sr. Maurice Williams added 18 points.  6-4 Sr. LJ Erves recorded 10 points and nine rebounds.  6-3 Sr. Eric Lauderdale chipped in with 10 points.  6-6 Sr. Daniel Kiesling led Henry Clay with 25 points and nine rebounds.  6-0 Sr. Kendrick Prewitt and 6-4 Fr. Jordan Green added 13 and 10 points respectively.  5-8 Jr. Wes Kimball recorded seven points and dished out 10 assists.

 

Lexington Catholic 69  Elliott County 45 (Quarterfinal) – 6-5 Sr. Taylor Martin led Lexington Catholic with 14 points, five rebounds, and six steals.  6-4 Sr. Scott Schuette added 14 points.  6-6 Jr. Patrick Keller chipped in with 10 points.  6-8 Sr.Timmy Knipp led Elliott County with 23 points and eight rebounds.  6-7 Sr. Jacob Ison added 10 points and 11 rebounds.  5-9 Sr. Cody Nickell also recorded 10 points.

 

Bowling Green 76  Mercer County 60 (Quarterfinal) – 6-0 Jr. Scooter Hollis led Bowling Green with 19 points including three three point baskets and pulled down eight rebounds.  6-7 Sr. Chane Behanan added 18 points and seven rebounds.  Behanan was nine of 11 from the field.  6-1 Sr. Mike Geegan and 5-9 Sr. Darius Clement added 11 and 10 points respectively.  6-1 Sr. Clay Cinnamon led Lincoln County with 19 points.  6-1 Sr. Matthew Honchel added 15 points and seven rebounds.
