M.L. Collins  vs.  North Hardin

 

Collins defeated North Hardin 49-42 in a high scoring battle tonight.  Collins recorded 18 first downs and 362 yards of total offense.  Collins was penalized four times for 38 yards, lost a fumble, and had two passes intercepted.  North Hardin recorded 18 first downs and 458 yards of total offense.  They were penalized eight times for 97 yards and had two passes intercepted.

Darian Dugle led the Collins ground attack with 75 yards and a TD on 10 carries.  Branden Cresap completed 18 of 32 passes for 234 yards and three touchdowns with two interceptions.  Ben Axline caught eight passes for 126 yards and two TDs.  Tavis Elzy added seven receptions for 81 yards and a touchdown.  Michael Brooks led the defense with seven solo and one assisted tackles.  Brooks also scored on a 65 yard interception return.  Tavis Elzy added six solo tackles.  Ben Axline was named game MVP for Collins.

Vincent Davis led North Hardin’s ground game with 105 yards and a TD on 14 carries.  Davis completed 15 of 34 passes for 296 yards and three touchdowns with two interceptions.  Michael Brunson caught five passes for 145 yards.  Avery Price added four receptions for 80 yards and a TD.  Antonio Simmons led the defense with seven solo and two assisted tackles with three of the tackles resulting in losses totalling 16 yards.  Marcus Shepherd added seven solo tackles and recovered a fumble.  Vincent Davis was named game MVP for North Hardin.

Covington Catholic  vs.  Lexington Catholic

 

Covington Catholic dominated tonight in a 54-21 victory over a young Lexington Catholic squad.  Covington Catholic recorded 17 first downs and 579 yards of total offense.  The Colonels were penalized 11 times for 113 yards, lost a fumble, and had a pass intercepted.  Lexington Catholic recorded 17 first downs and 382 yards of total offense.  The Knights were penalized four times for 52 yards and had a pass intercepted.

Bobby Beatrice led Covington Catholic’s ground game with 87 yards and a TD on three carries.  Gabe Gray carried the ball six times for 68 yards and a TD.  Alex Slabaugh also gained 68 yards on 12 carries.  Blake Bir completed 13 of 17 passes for 293 yards and four touchdowns with one interception.  Alex Slabaugh caught five passes for 123 yards and a TD.  Alex Connelly added four receptions for 113 yards and three touchdowns.  Tanner Coyne led the defense with seven solo tackles.  Leo Schaeffer and Dan Gregory each recorded five solo and one assisted tackles.  Alex Slabaugh was named game MVP for Covington Catholic.

James Maddox led Lexington Catholic’s ground attack with 65 yards on 10 carries.  Amoh Kumengisa carried the ball 11 times for 63 yards and two touchdowns.  Marcelis Logan added 56 yards on five carries.  Kyle Bolin completed 13 of 31 passes for 182 yards and one touchdown with one interception.  Adam Bush caught three passes for 97 yards and a TD.  Colby Colburn added three receptions for 56 yards.  Adam Wachs led the defense with seven solo and one assisted tackles.  Nate Letton added six solo and three assisted tackles.  Adam Wachs was named game MVP for Lexington Catholic.

Boone County (0-0)  vs.  Henry Clay (0-0)

 

Boone County utilized a strong ground game to control the clock in a 28-19 victory over Henry Clay.  Henry Clay was plagued by costly penalties and turnovers tonight with two long touchdowns being nullified by penalties.

Boone County recorded 16 first downs and 327 yards of total offense.  The Rebels were penalized 10 times for 74 yards and lost a fumble.  Henry Clay recorded 10 first downs and 217 yards of total offense.  The Blue Devils were penalized nine times for 82 yards, lost two fumbles, and had a pass intercepted.

Jordan Oppenheimer led Boone County’s ground game with 171 yards and three touchdowns on 34 carries.  Drew Stuck carried the ball 15 times for 53 yards.  Bryson Thompson completed four of six passes for 45 yards and a TD.  Jake Mullins caught two passes for 34 yards and a TD.  Kam. Schwertz led the defense with four solo and three assisted tackles.  Zach Adams added four solo tackles.

Bo Brooks led Henry Clay’s ground game with 53 yards on five carries.  Jerry Williams completed 10 of 15 passes for 106 yards and a TD with one interception.  Blake Green caught five passes for 34 yards.  Evander Harris added two receptions for 48 yards and a TD.  Ryan Smith led the defense with seven solo and four asssited tackles.  Charles McCarty added four solo and six assisted tackles.  Sean Bryant chipped in with four solo and five asssited tackles.

RB Tony Overall supplied the offensive punch for Butler and the Bears’ defense held Bryan Station in check in a 21-13 victory.  Overall scored on TD runs of five and 40 yards and the defense held Bryan Station’s ground game to minus 17 yards on 13 carries.

Butler recorded 17 first downs and 322 yards of total offense.  The Bears were penalized six times for 44 yards, lost a fumble, and had two passes intercepted.  Bryan Station recorded eight first downs and 162 yards of total offense.  The Defenders were penalized four times for 22 yards, lost a fumble, and had a pass intercepted.

Tony Overall led Butler’s ground game with 147 yards and two touchdowns on 36 carries.  JD Morgan completed three of five passes for 42 yards and a TD with two interceptions.  Seth Bowden caught two passes for 26 yards.  William Hampton led the defense with two solo and four assisted tackles.

Ledar. Jackson led Bryan Station’s ground game with seven yards on three carries.  Michael Winkler completed 12 of 25 passes for 179 yards and a TD with one interception.  Logan Smith caught four passes for 76 yards.  Elijah Burdette led the defense with four solo and seven assisted tackles.  Tim Hayden added seven solo tackles.

Shelby County (0-1)  vs.  Tates Creek (1-0)

 

Tates Creek’s offensive line opened up enough holes to allow the Commodores talented running backs to roll up 370 yards on 31 carries in a 42-0 victory over Shelby County.  The defense was equally proficient holding Shelby County to 134 yards and 3.2 yards per play and forcing five turnovers.

Tates Creek recorded 18 first downs and 479 yards of total offense.  The Commodores were penalized five times for 33 yards, lost two fumbles, and had two passes intercepted.  Shelby County recorded five first downs and 134 yards of total offense.  The Rockets were penalized six times for 38 yards, lost four fumbles, and had a pass intercepted.

Jontez Jones led Tates Creek’s ground attack with 135 yards and two touchdowns on six carries.  Jamal McFarland carried the ball five times for 63 yards.  Tyler Bailey chipped in with 59 yards and a TD on two carries.  Dee Christopher completed eight of 14 passes for 109 yards and two touchdowns with two interceptions.  Aubrey Lewis caught two passes for 37 yards and two TDs.  Jon. Meadors led the defense with five solo and four assisted tackles.  2.5 of Meador’s tackles resulted in losses totalling 12 yards.  Kalin Poe added four solo and two assisted tackles with three of the tackles resulting in losses totalling 14 yards.

Central stopped Lafayette twice from the Central one yard line in the closing seconds to preserve a 25-19 victory.  Central took a 25-19 lead with 40 seconds remaining in the third quarter on a two yard run by Brandehn Todd and the defense held on the remainder of the game for the victory.

Central recorded 13 first downs and 338 yards of total offense.  The Yellowjackets were penalized 15 times for 77 yards and lost a fumble.  Lafayette recorded 16 first downs and 347 yards of total offense.  The Generals were penalized five times for 43 yards and lost three fumbles.

Anthony Wales led Central’s ground game with 158 yards and two touchdowns on 24 carries.  Tahj Milliken completed four of 11 passes for 96 yards and a touchdown.  Devonte Yelder caught three passes for 84 yards and a TD.  Tim Witchard led the defense with four solo and tree assisted tackles.  Mashile Dozier added four solo and two assisted tackles.

Scott County took a 26-20 lead early in the final period but Clay County rallied for a 41-26 victory.  Clay County utilized big plays on offense tonight with scoring plays of 55, 23, 59, 38, 85, and 45 yards.

Clay County recorded 16 first downs and 494 yards of total offense.  The Tigers were penalized 13 times for 115 yards, lost a fumble, and had two passes intercepted.  Scott County recorded 15 first downs and 253 yards of total offense.  The Cardinals were penalized 10 times for 65 yards, lost a fumble, and had two passes intercepted.

CJ Miller led Clay County’s ground game with 87 yards and a TD on 13 carries.  Noah Reid carried the ball 11 times for 69 yards and a TD.  John Wilson completed nine of 18 passes for 316 yards and four touchdowns with two interceptions.  Joey Dezarn caught four passes for 92 yards and a TD.  John Hooker caught two passes for 104 yards and two TDs.  Noah Reid added two receptions for 100 yards and a TD.  Tanner Gilbert led the defense with six solo and nine assisted tackles.  CJ Miller added four solo and five assisted tackles.

Marcus Hill led the Scott County ground attack with 89 yards and two touchdowns on 18 carries.  Josh Walls carried the ball 11 times for 36 yards and a TD.  Ben Lawler completed six of 12 passes for 115 yards and a TD with two interceptions.  Josh Walls caught three passes for 99 yrds and a TD.  Jordan Kindred led the defense with 10 solo and three assisted tackles.  Kindred also intercepted a pass.  JT True and Josh Walls each recorded four solo and one assisted tackles.

Madison Central defeated North Laurel 27-13 in a game that was scoreless at halftime.  Madison Central recorded 12 first downs and 307 yards of total offense.  The Indians were penalized nine times for 72 yards.  North Laurel recorded 23 first downs and 385 yards of total offense.  The Jaguars were penalized 12 times for 123 yards.  North Laurel ran 70 plays on offense as opposed to 35 for Madison Central.  However Madison Central averaged 8.8 yards per play compared to 5.5 yards per play for North Laurel.

Jamez Chenault led the Madison Central ground attack with 131 yards and a TD on five carries.  Justin Williams added 68 yards and a TD on 16 carries.  Hunter Stocker completed two of five passes for 57 yards.  Nick Ford completed two of three passes for 18 yards.  Daniel Foster caught one pass for 46 yards.  Nick Ford led the defense with five solo and five assisted tackles.  Jon Floyd added two solo and seven assisted tackles.

Clark County defeated Bryan Station 46-18 in an emotional game they had dedicated to WR/DB Mykal Barnes who was seriously injured in a car accident Sunday night.  The Cardinals had to overcome being flagged 15 times for 128 yards.  Pokey Harris came up big tonight as he scored four touchdowns on the ground and intercepted a pass.  Clark County got a little breathing room as they outscored Bryan Station 20-0 in the second quarter to take a 26-12 lead at halftime.  Bryan Station scored in the third quarter to pull within eight;26-18 but Clark County closed out the game on a 20-0 run.

Clark County recorded 19 first downs and 372 yards of total offense.  The Cardinals were penalized 15 times for 128 yards and lost a fumble.  Bryan Station recorded 12 first downs and 198 yards of total offense.  The Defenders were penalized four times for 42 yards, lost a fumble, and had three passes intercepted.

Pokey Harris led Clark County’s ground attack with 121 yards and four touchdowns on 12 carries.  Mason Jones added 67 yards on eight carries.  Andrew Dini completed five of seven passes for 48 yards and a touchdown.  Corey Rogers caught three passes for 28 yards and a touchdown.  Ethan Curry led the defense with three solo and four assisted tackles and added one interception.

Ledar. Jackson led the Bryan Station ground game with 56 yards and a TD on eight carries.  Michael Winkler completed five of 15 passes for 113 yards and a TD with three interceptions.  Loran Smith caught two passes for 83 yards and a TD.  Sc. Hartsfield led the defense with seven solo and two assisted tackles including two tackles for losses totalling 14 yards.

Lexington Catholic rallied from a 20-12 halftime deficit to defeat Whitley County by a score of 46-27.  Neither team had trouble moving the ball on offense as Lexington Catholic rolled up 500 yards of total offense and Whitley County added 411 yards.  Highly touted Soph  Kyle Boling made his debut as starting QB for Lexington Catholic and was impressive with three touchdown passes and a 70 yard TD run.

Lexington Catholic recorded 19 first downs and 500 yards of total offense.  The Knights were penalized eight times for 60 yards and had two passes intercepted.  Whitley County recorded 15 first downs and 411 yards of total offense.  They were penalized five times for 47 yards, lost three fumbles, and had one pass intercepted.

Amoh Kumengisa led Lexington Catholic’s ground game with 69 yards and a TD on 10 carries.  Kyle Boling carried the ball three times for 67 yards and a TD.  Konnor Vasilko chipped in with 59 yards and two TDs on 14 carries. Kyle Boling completed 10 of 18 passes for 254 yards and three touchdowns with two interceptions.  Adam Bush caught four passes for 146 yards and one TD.  Colby Colburn added two receptions for 77 yards and a TD.Anthony Kersey led the defense with six solo and one assisted tackles.  Adam Wachs added five solo and three assisted tackles.

J. Singleton led Whitley County’s ground attack with 145 yards and a TD on four carries.  Jordan Chute added 52 yards on nine carries.  Travis Inman completed five of 12 passes for 122 yards and two touchdowns with one interception.  Justin Goins caught four passes for 105 yards and two touchdowns.  Boston Bryant led the defense with six solo and six assisted tackles.  Cody Bowlin added five solo tackles.  Josh Nichols and J. The inaugural Roy G. Walton Bowl Game was played at Tates Creek High School tonight .  Lafayette was the home team but played at Tates Creek because of construction on their new stadium.

Tates Creek scored 20 points in the final seven minutes to overcome a 27-12 deficit to defeat Lafayette 32-27.  Tates Creek held a 32-21 lead with 1:41 left in the game but Lafayette’s Marlon Johnson returned the ensuing kickoff 90 yards for a TD to cut the deficit to 32-27.  Lafayette then recovered an onside kick but lost the ball on an interception.  Lafayette recovered a fumble on the Tates Creek 15 yard line with 15 seconds remaining in the game but ended the game with four incompleted passes.

This was a game of momentum changes as Tates Creek took a 12-0 lead after the first quarter.  Lafayette scored 14 points in the last four minutes of the second quarter to take a 14-12 halftime lead.  Lafayette scored again in the third quarter and took a 21-12 lead into the final quarter before Tates Creek rallied for the victory.

Tates Creek held a commanding advantage in total yardage 351-137 but could not contain Lafayette’s Marlon Johnson on kick returns.  Johnson returned a kickoff 90 yards for a TD, scored on a 72 yard punt return, and set up another score on a 57 yard punt return.

Tates Creek recorded 21 first downs and 351 yards of total offense.  The Commodores were penalized nine times for 52 yards, lost three fumbles, and had one pass intercepted.  Lafayette recorded 12 first downs and 137 yards of total offense.  The Generals were penalized nine times for 68 yards and had two passes intercepted.

Jontez Jones led the Tates Creek ground game with 99 yards on 13 carries.  Brandon Shrout carried the ball eight times for 86 yards with two touchdowns.  Dee Christopher completed 10 of 18 passes for 101 yards and a TD with one interception.  Brandon Shrout caught four passes for 40 yards.  Anthony Bell added three receptions for 26 yards and a TD.  Jamal Wagner led the defense with six solo and one assisted tackles.  William Hardin added five solo tackles.  Dennis Oxendine chipped in with two solo and three assisted tackles and also scored on a 65 yard interception return.

Bubba Johnson led Lafayette’s ground game with 75 yards and two TDs on 13 carries.  Jeremy Smith completed eight of 25 passes for 79 yards with two interceptions.  Tanner Napier caught five passes for 59 yards.  Marlon Johnson rolled up 288 total yards including 18 yards rushing, 19 yards pass receptions, 115 yards on kick returns, and 136 yards on punt returns. Justin Carr led the defense with six solo and one assisted tackles.  Darius Johnson added six solo tackles and one interception which he returned 48 yards.

31st Annual Rick Bolus’ High Potential® “Blue-Chip” Basketball Camp® 2010 Session 2

 

Some of the top awards given for this session of the camp included:

Junior Division

Camp MVP was 6-2 Fr. JoeBob Charles Gilmer Ellijay GA.  The Camp Runner-Up MVP was awarded to 5-10 Fr. Neal Kirkpatrick Muhlenberg County Greenville KY.  The Top Shooter award went to 5-2 7th grader Gregory Frist Crosby Middle Louisville KY and the Top RebounderAward went to 5-11 8th grader Tyler Thacker Menifee County Frenchburg KY. The All-Star Game MVP went to 6-1 Fr. Grayson Griffith Boyd County Ashland KY and the Runner-Up Award went to JoeBob Charles.

High School Division

Co-Camp MVPs were 6-7 Sr. Jordan Percell Campbellsville KY and 6-2 Sr. Terrence Dixon LaVergne TN.  Co-Camp Runner-Up MVPs were 6-6 Sr. Elliott Vaughn Batavia IL and 6-0 Sr. Lutrell Thomas Woodlawn Shreveport LA.  The Top Shooter Award went to 6-0 Sr. Justin Short Boyle County Danville KY and the Top Rebounder Award went to 6-3 Sr. Justin Webb Trimble County Bedford KY.  The Top Underclassman was 6-5 Jr. Jermaine Rutley North Hardin Radclff KY. The Top 30 All-Star Game MVP was 6-3 Sr. Camden Foster Lamar County Barnesville GA and the Runner-Up MVP was 6-3 Sr. Wesley Richey Ooltewah TN.  The Second 30 All-Star Game MVP was 5-4 Jr. Ta-Rel Franklin Lutheran East Cleveland Heights OH and the Runner-Up MVP was 5-11 Sr. Deven Wright Temple Christian Dayton OH.

Rick Bolus’ High Potential® 13th Annual Girls Basketball Showcase Mini-Camp

 

This was an excellent camp with a lot of talent at each grade level. Camp MVP 5-2 Sr. Rachel Allen Northeast Clarksville TN impressed with her speed and ability to make shots. Camp Runner-UpMVP 5-8 Sr. Candace Morton Henry Clay Lexington KY displayed an excellent all-around game.  5-7 Jr. April Wilson Manual Louisville KY was named Top Underclassmen and has the complete package at the point guard position.  5-10 Jr. Jenna Crittendon Ryle Union KY continues to impress with her skill and athleticism.  5-10 So. Aareon Smith Butler Louisville KY is poised to have a great season.  Several girls who were elgible to play at the junior division chose to “play up” and more than held their own with their older counterparts.  5-9 Fr. Kacie Juday Tipton IN and 5-9 8th grader Alexis Brewer LaRue County Hodgenville KY both made the high school division all camp team.  5-10 7th grader Erin Boley T.K. Stone Middle School Elizabethtown KY, 5-11 Fr Makenzie Cann Anderson County KY, 5-5 8th grader Deja Turner Holy Cross Covington KY, 5-5 6th grader Natalie Collins Ramsey Louisville KY, and 5-6 7th grader Anovia Byars Paris Middle Paris KY. Were a few of several who played well against their older counterparts.
