Henry Clay  27  Bryan Station  6  -  The Blue Devils knocked Bryan Station from the unbeaten ranks in an emotional victory tonight.  Earlier this week ex-Blue Devil nose guard Jermaine "Hungry" Birch died in a tragic shooting incident.

Scott County  32  Tates Creek  14  -  Josh Walls and Marcus Hill each rushed for over 100 yards and QB Tevin Buffin passed for 100 yards as the Cardinals pulled away in the final quarter for the victory.

John Hardin  47  Paul Dunbar 20  -  John Hardin scored 34 points in the second quarter to take control of the game.  QB Alex Dingle completed eight of 10 passes for 222 yards and four touchdowns to lead John Hardin.

Lexington Christian Academy  62  Nicholas County  0  -  The "Big Three"  Domonique Hayden, Lucas Witt, and Branden Burdette all had big nights for the victorious Eagles.  Hayden carried the ball nine times for 165 yards and scored two touchdowns and caught three passes for 75 yards and two touchdowns.  QB Lucas Witt completed eight of nine passes for 243 yards with TD strikes of 18, 30, 53, 25, and 71 yards.  Branden Burdette caught three passes for 142 yards and TD receptions of 18, 53, and 71 yards.

Boyle County  48  Lafayette  6  -  Boyle County held a 562-95 advantage in total yards in a big victory over Lafayette.

Highlands  52  Dixie Heights  9  -  Soph. QB Patrick Towles completed 11 of 19 passes for 178 yards with scoring strikes of 15, 27, and 42 yards and Austin Collinsworth ran for 128 yards and three scores to lead the Bluebirds to victory.

Anderson County  35  Jeffersontown  20  -  Jacob Russell completed 17 of 26 passes for 294 yards and three touchdowns with one interception as the Bearcats remain undefeated.  Grant Cox caught seven passes for 175 yards with TD receptions of 33 and 16 yards.

West Jessamine  35  Western Hills  0  -  QB Matt Carbol scored on runs of 40 and 39 yards and threw a 16 yard TD pass to Blake Davis as the Colts improve to 6-0.

Shelby County  41  Eastern  34  -  Brandon Cresap threw TD passes of 11, 20, 13, 17, and 45 yards to lead the Rockets to victory.

Jeffersontown (4-1) at Anderson County (5-0) October 2nd
Topic: Football

Anderson County scored two touchdowns in the last three minutes of the game to pull away for a 35-20 victory over Jeffersontown.  The Bearcats improved to 6-0 and rolled up an impressive 480 yards of total offense.

Anderson County recorded 18 first downs and 480 yards of total offense.  The Bearcats were penalized 12 times for 112 yards, lost two fumbles and had a pass intercepted.  Jeffersontown recorded eight first downs and 205 yards of total offense.  They were penalized 12 times for 42 yards and lost two fumbles.

Dustin Combs led the Anderson County ground game with 93 yards and a TD on 12 carries.  Ben Walker added 75 yards on 17 carries.  Jacob Russell completed 17 of 26 passes for 294 yards and three touchdowns with one interception.  Grant Cox caught seven passes for 175 yards and two touchdowns.  Neal Wells and Grant Cox led the defense with four solo tackles each.

Dem. Jackson led Jeffersontown's ground game with 95 yards on 10 carries.  Joey Pierce completed five of 20 passes for 83 yards and two touchdowns.  Demet. Conley caught one pass for 49 yards and a TD.  Chase Gorman led the defense with six solo and four assisted tackles.  Gorman also intercepted a pass.  Demet. Conley added five solo and three assisted tackles.  Conley also recovered a fumble.

Scott County displayed a versatile offense tonight to pull away to defeat Tates Creek by a score of 32-14.  The Cardinals scored three touchdowns on the ground and two through the air.

Scott County recorded 23 first downs and 412 yards of total offense.  The Cardinals were penalized eight times for 76 yards.  Tates Creek recorded 16 first downs and 269 yards of total offense.  The Commodores were penalized six times for 40 yards, lost a fumble and had one pass intercepted.

Josh Walls led the Scott County ground game with 110 yards and a touchdown on 18 carries.  Marcus Hill added 109 yards and a TD on 10 carries.  Brooks Barber recorded 56 yards and a TD on eight carries.  Tevin Buffin completed seven of 11 passes for 100 yards and two touchdowns.  James Happy caught three passes for 43 yards and a TD.  Cody Hudson led the defense with three solo and eight assisted tackles.  Jordan Kindred added three solo and six assisted tackles with two of his tackles resulting in losses totalling 12 yards.  Jay Willmott kicked off six times and recorded five touchbacks.

Jontez Jones led the Tates Creek ground game with 76 yards and a TD on 13 carries.  Dee Christopher carried the ball 12 times for 40 yards.  Christopher completed 14 of 24 passes for 141 yards and a TD with one interception.  Jon. Diliberto caught four passes for 42 yards.  LaRobert Bett added three receptions for 40 yards.  Jon. Meadors led the defense with seven solo and eight assisted tackles.  Damon Boggs added five solo and four assisted tackles.

Bryan Station (5-0) at Henry Clay (4-1) October 2, 2009

Henry Clay stinging fom a defeat by Lafayette last week and honoring the memory of ex-Blue Devil Jermaine "Hungry" Birch who died in a tragic shooting earlier this week defeated Bryan Station by a score of 27-6.  Henry Clay broke the game open with 21 points in the second quarter and led 24-0 at halftime.  The opportunistic defense recovered three fumbles and intercepted three passes.

Henry Clay recorded 16 first downs and 325 yards of total offense.  The Blue Devils were penalized six times for 78 yards and lost two fumbles.  Bryan Station recorded nine first downs and 250 yards of total offense.  The Defenders were penalized seven times for 72 yards, lost three fumbles and had three passes intercepted.

Bo Brooks led the Henry Clay ground game with 107 yards and a TD on 19 carries.  Shannon Coofer added 92 yards and a TD on seven carries.  Jerry Williams completed eight of 18 passes for 84 yards.  Blake Green caught five passes for 68 yards.  Shan Howell led the defense with five solo and four assisted tackles.  Ryan McCray added five solo and two assisted tackles.  Howell, McCray, and Darius Fields all had fumble recoveries.  Weston Johnson, Ryan Duzyk, and Matt Cox each intercepted a pass.

Tevin McCaden led Bryan Station's ground game with 245 yards including a 74 yard TD run on 34 carries. Michael Winkler completed two of six passes for 16 yards with one interception.  Chaz Mitchell caught one pass for 15 yards.  Jordan Taylor led the defense with seven solo and two assisted tackles.  Tim Hayden added seven solo and one assisted tackle.  Kris Bolton added seven solo tackles.

Rick Bolus' High Potential(R) and Allgood Hoops(R) Fall Preview Showcase
Topic: Basketball

The 2nd Annual Rick Bolus' High Potential(R) and Allgood Hoops(R)  Fall Preview Showcase will be October 2-3, 2009 at duPont Manual High School in Louisville KY.  This event will be for Girls Basketball traveling teams and individual players.  The event will be directed by Rick Bolus of High Potential(R) Basketball Recruiting Service and Jeff Allgood, Director of Allgood Hoops(R).

o  Fall Evaluation event that will attract the top travel teams from the Mid-West and Southeast.  Easy to commute to from Indianapolis, Dayton, Chicago, St. Louis, Huntington, Nashville, Memphis, Atlanta.

o  All games played under one roof.

o  Scouting services to be present: High Potential(R), Bluegrass Insider, and SuperStarPreps.com.  Over 400 colleges will be invited.

o  Dates:  October 2-3, 2009

o For: Travel teams 17U thru 13U and players in 7th grade thru 12th grade

Week Six in Review September 25-26

Friday September 25th

Lexington Catholic 27  Lexington Christian Academy 26 - Lexington Catholic rallied from a 26-14 deficit after a two hou delay due to lightning to defeat LCA by a score of 27-26.

Highlands 12  Cincinnati St. Xavier 7 - Highlands QB Will Bardo gained 135 yards and scored a TD to lead the Bluebirds to victory over a team that had previously defeated St. Xavier and Trinity this season.

Scott County 40  Clark County 0 - Scott County raced out to a 40-0 halftime lead in a game that was called in the third quarter due to lightning.  Josh Walls carried the ball five times for 84 yards and scored on runs of 6 and 52 yards.

Bryan Station 22  Pleasure Ridge Park 12 - Tevin McCaden carried the ball 30 times for 287 yards and two TDs as Bryan Station improves to 5-0.

Tates Creek 29  North Bullitt 7 - Tates Creek QB Dee Christopher completed 16 of 24 passes for 207 yards and three touchdowns to lead the Commodores to victory.

Lafayette 12  Henry Clay 9 - Lafayette knocked Henry Clay from the unbeaten ranks sparked by a 78 yard kickoff return for a touchdown by Marlon Johnson.

Johnson Central 36  Breathitt County 14 - J.J. Jude carried the ball 20 times for 245 yards and three touchdowns including a 91 yard TD run to lead the Golden Eagles to victory.

Simon Kenton 56  Conner 14 - QB Miles Simpson scored on runs of 52, 2, 3, 22, and 9 yards to lead the Pioneers to victory.

Boyle County 49  Danville 9 - Rees MacShara ran for 196 yards and scored four touchdowns to lead the Rebels to victory.

Lafayette (3-2) at Henry Clay (4-0) September 25th

Lafayette knocked Henry Clay out of the list of unbeaten teams on a wet and rainy night with a 12-9 victory.  This is the fourth victory in the last five meetings over Henry Clay.  The wet weather made it hard to hold on to the ball as Henry Clay fumbled the ball nine times losing possession twice and having two passes intercepted.  Lafayette fumbled five times losing one possession and had one pass intercepted.

Lafayette recorded seven first downs and 125 yards of total offense.  The Generals were penalized five times for 39 yards.  Henry Clay recorded seven first downs and 164 yards of total offense.  The Blue Devils were penalized five times for 35 yards.

William Johnson led the Lafayette ground attack with 94 yards and a TD on 11 carries.  Brett Durbin completed two of five passes for 13 yards with one interception.  Jos. Stephenson caught two passes for 13 yards.  Marlon Johnson added a touchdown on a 78 yard kickoff return.  Andy Hampton led the defense with six solo and one assisted tackle.  William Jiohnson added five solo tackles.

Shannon Coofer led Henry Clay's ground game with 49 yards on nine carries.  Jerry Williams carried the ball 13 times for 43 yards.  Williams completed four of 13 passes for 27 yards with two interceptions.  Blake Green caught two passes for 18 yards.  Branden Johnson added two receptions for nine yards.  Justin Rivers led the defense with four solo and four assisted tackles with two of his tackles resulting in losses totalling four yards.  Ryan Duzyk added four solo and one assisted tackle.

Bryan Station (4-0) at Pleasure Ridge Park (1-3) September 25th

Bryan Station averaged an impressive 8.7 yards per carry on 40 rushing attempts in a 22-12 victory over Pleasure Ridge Park.  The opportunistic Defender defense recovered three fumbles and intercepted a pass.

Bryan Station recorded 11 first downs and 353 yards of total offense.  The Defenders were penalized 10 times for 112 yards and lost two fumbles.  Pleasure Ridge Park recorded 14 first downs and 238 yards of total offense.  They were penalized eight times for 50 yards, lost three fumbles and had a pass intercepted.

Tevin McCaden led the Bryan Station ground game with 287 yards and two touchdowns on 30 carries.  Michael Winkler completed one of eight passes for four yards.  R. Wolfenbarger caught one pass for four yards.  Kris Bolton led the defense with eight solo and three assisted tackles.  Jordan Taylor added eight solo and one assisted tackle.

Jaque Taylor led the PRP ground game with 72 yards on 11 carries.  Wm. Thompson added seven carries for 60 yards and a TD.  Brnte Williams completed six of 14 passes for 57 yards and a TD with one interception.  Wm. Taylor caught three passes for 47 yards.  Mark Bowling led the defense with six solo and four assisted tackles.  Kvn. Richardson added six solo and three assisted tackles with two of his tackles resulting in losses totalling three yards.

Lexington Catholic (3-2) at Lexington Christian Academy (4-0) September 25th

The game was suspended late in the third quarter for a two hour delay due to lightning with LCA holding a 26-14 lead.  Once the game resumed Lexington Catholic rallied for a 27-26 victory.  LCA had one last chance but missed a 36 yard field goal attempt late in the game in extremely wet field conditions.

Lexington Catholic recorded 10 first downs and 313 yards of total offense.  The Knights were penalized three times for 64 yards and lost a fumble.  LCA recorded 19 first downs and 396 yards of total offense.  The Eagles were penalized three times for 30 yards.

Greg Raglin led the Lexington Catholic ground game with 174 yards and two touchdowns on 22 carries.  Nic Ward added 76 yards and a TD on six carries.  Ward completed six of 12 passes for 52 yards and a TD.  Bryce Andrews caught three passes for 33 yards and a TD.  Benton Hupman led the defense with three solo and one assisted tackle.  Nate Letton added two solo and two assisted tackles.

Domonique Hayden led LCA's ground attack with 183 yards and two TDs on 30 carries.  Lucas Witt added 150 yards and two TDs on 14 carries.  Witt completed six of 12 passes for 40 yards.  A.  Shewmaker caught passes for 18 yards.  Brandon Burdette returned two kickoffs for 78 yards including a 71 yard return.  Neal Whitman and Chad Hall each recorded two solo and one assisted tackle.
