Elizabethtown (33-2) vs. Iroquois (32-1) (Championship)

 

Elizabethtown coach Tim Mudd started the following lineup: 5-10 Sr. Terra Lucas, 5-11 So. Adelaide Luckett, 6-0 Sr. Alex Jones, 5-9 Sr. Dorian Downs, and 5-6 So. Natalie Greenwell.  Iroquois coach Al Northington countered with 5-9 Sr. Adia Mathies, 5-8 Sr. Meka Birdsong, 5-9 Jr. Victoria Brown, 5-5 Sr. Kayla Hickman, and 5-6 Sr. Asia Mathies.

 

Iroquois defeated Elizabethtown 55-47 in overtime.  Iroquois shot 37% from the field including five of 15 from the three point line.  The Lady Raiders connected on 16 of 28 free throws, pulled down 31 rebounds, and scored 16 points off 17 Elizabethtown turnovers.  Elizabethtown shot 42.9% from the field including five of 11 from beyond the arc.  The Lady Panthers connected on six of nine free throws, pulled down 27 rebounds, and scored 11 points off nine Iroquois turnovers.

 

Asia Mathies led Iroquois with 15 points, five rebounds, four assists, and three steals.  Meka Birdsong added 12 points.  Adia Mathies recorded 10 points, eight rebounds, and four assists.  Kayla Hickman chipped in with 10 points.

 

Alex Jones led Elizabethtown with 18 points and 11 rebounds.  Terra Lucas added 11 points.
