Belfry captured the3A Championship with a 30-20 victory over Bell County and this one was particularly sweet for Coach Philip Haywood and the Pirates.  Belfry started 2-2 this season and lost 53-16 to Johnson Central in the last game of the regular season.  The Pirates escaped a 15-14 double overtime struggle over DeSales to reach the championship game.  It was a battle of legend coaches as Coach Dudley Hilton and Bell County finished the season at 14-1 and Philip Haywood claimed his seventh championship at Belfry and finished the season at 11-3.  Belfry recorded 17 first downs and 379 yards of total offense.  The Pirates were penalized seven times for 74 yards and lost a fumble.  Bell County recorded 15 first downs and 291 yards of total offense.  They were penalized three times for 40 yards.

Isaac Dixon was named MVP and led the Belfry ground game with 228 yards and three touchdowns on 15 carries.  Peyton Hensley carried the ball 19 times for 98 yards.  Ben Bentley added 52 yards and a touchdown on 12 carries.  Brett Coleman was zero for one on pass attempts.  Brad Lowe led the defense with seven solo and two assisted tackles.  Grayson Cook added six solo and four assisted tackles with one of his tackles resulting in a four yard loss.  Brett Coleman recorded four solo and two assisted tackles.

Landon Stephney led Bell County’s ground game with 104 yards and two touchdowns on 21 carries.  Hunter Bailey carried the ball once for five yards and a touchdown.  Landon Stephney completed 12 of 18 passes for 150 yards.  Jason Jones caught five passes for 76 yards.  Brant Hoskins added three receptions for 48 yards.  Dawson Woolum returned four kickoffs for 66 yards.  Hunter Bailey led the defense with five solo and four assisted tackles.  Brandon Baker added five solo and two assisted tackles and recovered a fumble.  Landon Stephney recorded four solo and three assisted tackles.
