Madison Southern coach Austin Newton started the following lineup: 6-2 Sr. Jonah Wooten, 6-1 Sr. Chad Fugate, 6-4 So. Nate Turner, 5-5 Sr. Colby Sebastian, and 5-8 So. Walt Smith.  Frederick Douglass Kurt Young countered with 6-1 Sr. Jaylan Green, 6-0 Sr. Aidan Reid, 6-5 Sr. Bilal Chhadh, 5-8 Jr. Khamri McMullen, and 5-8 Sr. Jarvis Byrd.

Frederick Douglass defeated Madison Southern by a score of 80 – 66.  Douglass led by 21 points midway through the second quarter but Madison Southern battled back to within six points; 67-61 with 5:05 left in the game.  Madison Southern missed several free throws down the stretch and Douglass finished the game on a 13-5 run.  Douglass shot 51.9% from the field including 10 of 24 from the three point line.  The Broncos connected on 14 of 20 free throws, pulled down 30 rebounds, and scored 26 points off 26 Madison Southern turnovers.  Madison Southern shot 40% from the field including six of 22 from beyond the arc.  The Eagles connected on 20 of 29 free throws, pulled down 32 rebounds, and scored 26 points off 21 Douglass turnovers.

Jaylan Green led Douglass with 22 points, seven rebounds, three assists, and six steals.  Aidan Reid added 16 points including four three point baskets.  6-1 Jr. DaShawn Jackson recorded 10 points, five rebounds, and five assists.  6-2 Jr. Julius Scearce chipped in with nine points, three rebounds, and three steals.  Jarvis Byrd added eight points including two three point baskets, four rebounds, three assists, and three steals.

Chad Fugate led Madison Southern with 16 points including 10 of 13 free throws, five rebounds, and four steals.  Nate Turner added 14 points including three three point baskets and six rebounds.  5-11 Sr. Hunter Buchanan recorded 14 points including three of three free throws.  6-0 Sr. Samuel Lee chipped in with 12 points.
