2018 Lady Pirates Holiday Classic (Girls) (Championship)

Danville defeated Berea 62-40 to earn the tournament championship. The young Berea Lady Pirates have a gaudy 13-2 record this season with both losses coming at the hands of the Lady Admirals.  Danville outscored Berea 15-4 in the third quarter to take control of the game.  Danville shot 37.9% from the field including six of 19 from the three point line.  The Lady Admirals connected on 12 of 20 free throws, and pulled down 39 rebounds.  Berea shot 27% from the field including two of 12 from beyond the arc.  The Lady Pirates connected on 14 of 23 free throws, pulled down 35 rebounds, and committed 19 turnovers.

 

5-8 Sr. Ivy Turner led Danville with 25 points including two three point baskets and 10 rebounds.  5-8 So. Jenna Akers added 10 points and five rebounds.  5-8 So. Lara Akers recorded eight points and five rebounds.  5-7 So. Ahyana Burnett chipped in with seven points.

 

5-11 Sr. Adrienne Beggs led Berea with 15 points and 17 rebounds.  5-7 8th Grader Chesney Lovins added eight points.  5-8 Fr. Alexis Newman recorded six points and seven rebounds.  5-6 Fr. Mati Stepp added four points and six assists.
