Henry Clay vs. Bryan Station (Girls)

Henry Clay coach Eric Sanford started the following lineup: 5-9 Fr. Amiya Jenkins, 5-6 So. Ravion Jackson, 5-10 Fr. Lauren Thomas, 5-0 Fr. Maddie Kaufman, and 5-7 Sr. Kiya Thompson.  Bryan Station coach Brian Hall countered with 5-8 Sr. Amilleon Black, 5-7 Fr. Tania Woodall, 6-0 So. Olea Woodall, 5-0 So. Tori Godoy, and 5-8 Sr. Kelynn Clay.

 

Henry Clay raced out to an 18-7 first quarter lead on their way to a 61-50 victory over Bryan Station.  Henry Clay shot 43.4% from the field including four of 16 from the three point line.  The Lady Blue Devils connected on 11 of 20 free throws, pulled down 40 rebounds, and scored 18 points off 17 Bryan station turnovers.  Bryan Station shot 33.35 from the field including seven of 18 from beyond the arc.  The Lady Defenders connected on nine of 23 free throws, pulled down 35 rebounds, and scored 10 points off 19 Henry Clay turnovers.

 

Kiya Thompson led Henry Clay with 20 points including three three point baskets and three steals.  Amiya Jenkins added 17 points and six rebounds.  5-2 Jr. Taviona Sanford recorded six points, six rebounds, two assists, and two steals.

 

Kelynn Clay led Bryan Station with 22 points including three three point baskets and two blocked shots.  Tori Godoy added 16 points including three three point baskets, six rebounds, and four steals.
