Simon Kenton coach Trent Steiner started the following lineup: 6-2 So. Jon Hensley, 6-1 Sr. Chazz Kitchens, 6-8 Sr. Zach Kelch, 6-0 Sr. Andrew Robinson, and 6-0 Fr. Kelly Niece.  Covington Catholic coach Scott Ruthsatz countered with 6-8 Jr. Nick Thelen, 6-4 Sr. CJ Fredrick, 7-1 Sr. Jake Walter, 6-0 Sr. Casey Nowak and 5-10 Sr. Aiden Ruthsatz.

 

Covington Catholic pulled away in the second half to defeat Simon Kenton by a score of 84-59.  Covington Catholic shot 64% from the field including four of 10 from the three point line.  The Colonels connected on 16 of 22 free throws, pulled down 31 rebounds, and scored 19 points off 12 Simon Kenton turnovers.  Simon Kenton shot 46.5% from the field including seven of 14 from beyond the arc.  The Pioneers connected on 12 of 17 free throws, pulled down 20 rebounds, and scored three points off five Covington Catholic turnovers.

 

CJ Fredrick led Covington Catholic with 26 points including two three point baskets, three rebounds, and seven assists.  Jake Walter added 24 points, 11 rebounds, and four blocked shots.  Walter was 11 of 13 from the field and two of five from the free throw line.  Aiden Ruthsatz recorded 14 points including two three point baskets, three rebounds, and three assists.

 

Kelly Niece led Simon Kenton with 22 points including two three point baskets and six of six free throws.  Niece was seven of 10 from the field including two of three beyond the arc, and six of six free throws.  Chazz Kitchens added nine points and four assists.
