Lafayette coach Mike Mendenhall III started the following lineup; 6-3 Sr. Eric Powell, 6-1 Sr. Cameron King, 6-9 So. Ray Surratt, 5-10 Jr. Evan Dreux, and 5-11 Sr. Fousseyni Diallo. Lexington Catholic coach Brandon Salsman countered with 6-5 Sr. Zan Payne, 6-3 Sr. TC Price, 6-7 Sr. Max Sparkman, 5-11 Jr. Javen Hardin, and 6-0 Sr. Keegan Bailey.
Lafayette defeated Lexington Catholic tonight by a score of 74-58. Lafayette led 33-30 at halftime but pulled away in the second half. Lafayette shot 57.9% from the field including five of 13 from the three point line. The Generals connected on 25 of 30 free throws, pulled down 28 rebounds, and scored 17 points off 16 Lexington Catholic turnovers. Lexington Catholic shot 35.8% from the field including five of 16 from beyond the arc. The Knights connected on 15 of 25 free throws, pulled down 30 rebounds, and scored 16 points off 19 Lafayette turnovers.
Eric Powell led Lafayette with 21 points including 14 of 14 free throws, seven rebounds, six assists, and four steals. Cameron King added 17 points including four three point baskets, four rebounds, three assists, two blocked shots, and two steals. 6-1 Sr. Devontae Hayes recorded 15 points, five rebounds, and three blocked shots. Fousseyni Diallo chipped in with 10 points. Ray Surratt pulled down eight rebounds and blocked two shots.
6-1 Fr. Ben Johnson led Lexington Catholic with 21 points including three three point baskets and three steals. Zan Payne added 13 points and 10 rebounds. TC Price recorded 10 points and four rebounds.
