Russell County coach Craig Pippen started the following lineup: 5-11 Jr. Addison Loy, 5-10 Haley Southerland, 6-2 Sr. LaShaya Carman, 5-6 Sr. Amelia Ackerman, and 5-7 Jr. Jaylen Elmore. Franklin County coach Joey Thacker countered with 5-8 Sr. Josie Thacker, 5-6 So. Jasmine Simpson, 5-8 Jr. Samareah Levarity, 5-5 Sr. Emily Jordan, and 5-5 Sr. Kindall Talley.
Franklin County defeated Russell County by a score of 58-53. Franklin County shot 44.2% from the field including nine of 24 from the three point line. The Lady Flyers connected on 11 of 19 free throws, pulled down 27 rebounds, and scored 15 points off 13 Russell County turnovers. Russell County shot 41.2% from the field including six of 19 from beyond the arc. The Lakers connected on five of seven free throws, pulled down 33 rebounds, and scored 12 points off nine Russell County turnovers.
5-10 8th Grade Patience Laster led Franklin County with nine points and seven rebounds. Josie Thacker also scored nine points on three three point baskets. Jasmine Simpson added nine points including two three point baskets. 5-4 Jr. Julia Welsh added eight points including two three point baskets. Kindall Talley recorded seven points, five rebounds, and four assists.
LaShaya Carman led Russell County with 23 points and 10 rebounds. Carman was 10 of 13 from the field and three of five from the free throw line. Addison Loy added 11 points including three three point baskets. Haley Southerland recorded eight points including two three point baskets, three rebounds, and two steals. Jaylen Elmore also scored eight points and pulled down nine rebounds.
