Barren County vs. Allen County-Scottsville (Girls)

Barren County coach Piper Lindsey started the following lineup: 5-9 Jaylyn Bush, 5-8 So. Elizabeth Bertram, 5-7 So. Karleigh Delk, 5-7 Jr. Bailey Pedigo, and 5-8 Jr. Mallory Pedigo.  Allen County-Scottsville coach Brad Bonds countered with 5-11 Jr. Sarah Sutton, 5-7 Sr. Bailee Alderson, 5-11 Jr. Mason Towey, 5-2 Sr. Sydney Day, and 5-6 Sr. Kali Mutter.

 

Barren County trailed 31-23 after three quarters but rallied to defeat Allen County-Scottsville 48-46 in overtime.  Barren County outscored Allen County-Scottsville 19-11 in the final quarter to take a 42-40 lead late but Allen County-Scottsville’s Bailee Alderson scored a put back basket in the closing seconds to force overtime.  Karleigh Delk made so big plays down the stretch in overtime to give Barren County the victory.  There were five lead changes and four ties in the game.

 

Barren County shot 50% from the field including three of six from the three point line.  The Trojanettes connected on 11 of 21 free throws, pulled down 22 rebounds, and scored four points off 10 Allen County-Scottsville turnovers.  Allen County-Scottsville shot 48.7% from the field including zero of two from beyond the arc.  The Lady Patriots connected on eight of 14 free throws, pulled down 25 rebounds, and scored eight points off 11 Barren County turnovers.

 

Bailey Pedigo led Barren County with 14 points including two three point baskets, seven rebounds, and two assists.  Karleigh Delk added 13 points and five rebounds.  Elizabeth Bertram also scored 13 points. 

 

Sarah Sutton led Allen County-Scottsville with 16 points and eight rebounds.  Mason Towery added 10 points, four rebounds, five assists, and two blocked shots.  Sydney Day added seven points, four rebounds, and five assists.
