Eastern Kentucky University coach Chrissy Roberts started the following lineup: 5-11 Jr. Abby Wright, 5-11 Fr. Bria Bass, 6-2 Jr. Madison Pierce, 5-8 Jr. A’Queen Hayes, and 5-8 So.  Shay Solomon.  Akron coach Jodi Kest countered with 6-1 Sr. Greta Burry, 5-10 Jr. Morgan Sefcik, 6-1 So. Haliegh Reinoehl,  5-4 So. Shaunay Edmonds, and 5-9 So. Shayna Harmon.

 

Akron raced out to a 36-16 lead at halftime on their way to a 62-45 victory over Eastern Kentucky University.  Akron shot 35.9% from the field including six of 19 from the three point line.  They connected on 10 of 16 free throws, pulled down 46 rebounds, and scored 14 points off 15 Eastern Kentucky turnovers.  Eastern Kentucky shot 31.7% from the field including one of nine from beyond the arc.  The Colonels connected on six of 14 free throws, pulled down 41 rebounds, and scored nine points off 10 Akron turnovers.

 

Greta Burry led Akron with 14 points.  Megan Sefcik added 10 points including three three point baskets.  5-8 Sr. Lauren Hung chipped in with eight points including two three point baskets.  Haliegh Reinoehl pulled down 12 rebounds.

 

A’Queen Hayes led Eastern Kentucky with 16 points, nine rebounds, and three steals.  Shay Solomon added 14 points and Abby Wright chipped in with seven points.  Madison Pierce pulled down eight rebounds.
