South Laurel coach Jeff Davis started the following lineup: 6-2 Sr. Blake Phelps, 6-1 Jr. Logan Madden, 6-4 So. Matthew Dalton, 6-0 Fr. Matthew Cromer, and 6-1 Sr. Jared Grubb. Madison Central coach Allen Feldhaus Jr. countered with 6-2 Jr. Dustin Geralds, 6-1 Sr. Michael Roberts, 6-7 So. Isaiah Cozart, 5-10 Jr. Isaiah Minter, and 5-10 Jr. Jacori Miller.
Madison Central defeated South Laurel by a score of 78-68. The score was tied five times and there were six lead changes in the game. Madison Central shot 61% from the field including six of 13 from the three point line. The Indians connected on 22 of 26 free throws, pulled down 27 rebounds, and scored 15 points off 14 South Laurel turnovers. South Laurel shot 48% from the field including eight of 20 from beyond the arc. They connected on 12 of 18 free throws, pulled down 19 rebounds, and scored 15 points off 14 Madison Central turnovers.
Jacori Miller led Madison Central with 22 points including four three point baskets. Dustin Geralds added 17 points and four rebounds. Isaiah Cozart recorded 13 points, 12 rebounds, three assists, four blocked shots, and two steals. Isaiah Minter added 13 points including 11 of 14 free throws, four rebounds, and eight assists. 6-0 Jr. Kenyon McKee chipped in with nine points.
Jared Grubb led South Laurel with 34 points including five three point baskets and three assists. Matthew Dalton added 12 points and five rebounds. Matthew Cromer recorded 10 points including two three point baskets and five rebounds.
