Boone County vs. Lafayette (Girls)

Boone County coach Ray Kues started the following lineup: 5-6 Sr. Jaelyn Bonner, 5-6 Sr. Zyah Beal, 5-7 Sr. Kylie Anderson, 5-4 Jr. Tessa Gieske, and 5-5 Jr. Maleah Hirn.  Lafayette coach Allison Denton countered with 5-10 So. Macey Goff, 5-9 So. Lindi DeBilzan, 5-9 Jr. Tekiya Garr-Carter, 5-6 Jr. Terri Abram, and 5-9 Jr. Caroline Bennett.

 

Lafayette led 52-48 after three quarters and outscored Boone County 22-8 in the final quarter to earn a 74-56.  The score was tied six ties and there were five lead changes in the game.  Lafayette shot 60% from the field including six of 13 from the three point line.  The Lady Generals connected on 14 of 19 free throws, pulled down 29 rebounds, and scored 27 points off 20 Boone County turnovers.  Boone County shot 47.1% from the field including four of eight from beyond the arc.  The Lady rebels connected on four of seven free throws, pulled down 21 rebounds, and scored 24 points off 19 Lafayette turnovers.

 

Caroline Bennett led Lafayette with 21 points including four three point baskets, 12 rebounds, four assists, and three steals.  Lindi DeBilzan added 18 points including two three point baskets and three assists.  Tekiya Garr-Carter recorded 17 points and four rebounds.  Macey Goff chipped in with eight points, four rebounds, and three assists.  5-8 8th Grade Elise Pankins also scored eight points and blocked two shots.  Terri Abram dished out six assists.

 

Maleah Hirn led Boone County with 16 points including three three point baskets.  Tessa Gieske added 14 points and seven assists.  Kylie Anderson recorded 12 points and six rebounds.  Zyah Beal chipped in with 12 points, four rebounds, and three assists.
