Lexington Christian Academy coach Nate Valentine started the following lineup: 6-6 Jr. Carter Hendricksen, 6-6 Jr. Kyle Rode, 6-6 Jr. Austin Hall, 6-0 Jr. Chandler Stewart, and 6-2 Sr. Nathan Harper. Lexington Catholic coach 6-5 Jr. Zan Payne, 6-3 Jr. TC Price, 6-7 Sr. Peter Whitman, 6-2 Sr. Blake Scott, and 6-3 Sr. Luke Johnson.
The score was tied 18-18 at halftime but Lexington Catholic stepped up the defense after intermission and shot 76% from the field in the second half to earn a 64-43 victory in an important district match-up. Lexington Catholic shot 55.1% from the field including five of 11 from the three point line. The Knights connected on five of five free throws, pulled down 30 rebounds, and scored 14 points off nine LCA turnovers. LCA shot 39.1% from the field including four of 15 from beyond the arc. The Eagles connected on three of six free throws, pulled down 21 rebounds, and scored eight points off seven Lexington Catholic turnovers.
Zan Payne led Lexington Catholic 19 points and six rebounds. Blake Scott added 13 points including three three point baskets. Luke Johnson recorded 11 points, six rebounds, and 10 assists. TC Price chipped in with 10 points and five rebounds. 6-8 Jr. Max Sparkman added nine points and six rebounds.
Austin Hall led LCA with 16 points. Nathan Harper added 11 points including three three point baskets. Carter Hendricksen recorded nine points and five rebounds. Kyle Rode added two points, seven rebounds, and six assists.
