Lafayette coach Mike Mendenhall III started the following lineup: 5-10 Sr. Jajuante Carpenter, 5-10 Jr. Eric Powell, 6-1 Sr. Cameron Greenup, 5-9 Sr. Chris Wharton, and 5-10 So. Evan Dreux. Bryan Station coach Tommy Johnson countered with 6-3 Sr. David Demarcus, 6-0 Sr. Stephen Groves, 6-7 Sr. Braeden Warren, 5-10 Jr. Eric “Boss” Boone, and 6-1 Jr. Terrance Clayton-Murphy.
Lafayette led 53-41 after three quarters but Bryan Station outscored the Generals 24-10 in the final quarter to earn a 65-63 victory. The score was tied six times and there were nine lead changes in this game. Bryan Station shot 51.2% from the field including two of 10 from the three point line. The Defenders connected on 21 of 24 free throws, pulled down 30 rebounds, and scored 13 points off nine Lafayette turnovers. Lafayette shot 41.4% from the field including four of 20 from beyond the arc. The Generals connected on 11 of 13 free throws, pulled down 27 rebounds, and scored 13 points off 14 Bryan Station turnovers.
Eric “Boss” Boone led Bryan Station with 21 points including 11 of 13 free throws, 10 rebounds, and six assists. David Demarcus added 18 points including two three point baskets. 6-4 So. Nathan Mack recorded 12 points and two blocked shots.
Jajuante Carpenter led Lafayette with 19 points including two three point baskets and four rebounds. Eric Powell added 13 points. 6-1 Jr. Devontae Hayes recorded 10 points and five rebounds. Chris Wharton also scored 10 points.
