Lafayette coach Mike Mendenhall III started the following lineup: 5-10 Sr. Jajuante Carpenter, 5-10 Jr. Eric Powell, 6-1 Sr. Cameron Greenup, 5-9 Sr. Chris Wharton, and 5-10 So. Evan Dreux. Lexington Catholic coach Brandon Salsman countered with 6-5 Jr. Zan Payne, 6-3 Jr. TC Price, 6-7 Sr. Peter Whitman, 6-3 Sr. Blake Scott, and 6-3 Sr. Luke Johnson.
Lexington Catholic defeated Lafayette by a score of 71-66. Lexington Catholic shot 55.8% from the field including three of 13 from the three point line. The Knights connected on 20 of 27 free throws, pulled down 31 rebounds, and scored 16 points off 20 Lafayette turnovers. Lafayette shot 42.6% from the field including 10 of 24 from beyond the arc. The Generals connected on 10 of 14 free throws, pulled down 26 rebounds, and scored 15 points off 22 Lexington Catholic turnovers.
Luke Johnson led Lexington Catholic with 24 points including 10 of 13 free throws, five rebounds, and three assists. Blake Scott added 13 points including three three point baskets. Peter Whitman recorded 12 points, seven rebounds, and three blocked shots. Zan Payne added 11 points, 11 rebounds, and three assists.
Jajuante Carpenter led Lafayette with 28 points including six three point baskets and three assists. Eric Powell added 14 points including three three point baskets. 6-1 Jr. Devontae Hayes recorded eight points, three rebounds, and four assists.
