Eastern Kentucky University coach Dan McHale started the following lineup: 6-6 Fr. Deandre Dishman, 6-7 Jr. Zach Charles, 6-9 So. Nick Mayo, 5-11 Fr. Asante Gist, and 6-2 Sr. Isaac McGlone. Southeast Missouri State University coach Rick Ray countered with 6-8 Jr. William Tchiengang, 6-6 Sr. Antonius Cleveland, 6-3 Jr. Jaylen Benton, 6-1 Sr. Jamaal Calvin, and 6-4 Fr. Denzel Mahoney.
SEMO shot a sizzling 63% from the field in the second half as they pulled away for an 81-48 victory over Eastern Kentucky. SEMO shot 55.8% from the field including 13 of 24 from the three point line. They connected on 10 of 13 free throws, pulled down 29 rebounds, and scored 18 points off 13 Eastern Kentucky turnovers. Eastern Kentucky shot 39.2% from the field including three of 17 from beyond the arc. The Colonels connected on 31 rebounds, and scored four points off seven SEMO turnovers.
Denzel Mahoney led five SEMO players in double figures with 15 points including three three point baskets, five rebounds, and six assists. Jamaal Calvin also scored 15 points including three three point baskets. Antonius Cleveland recorded 14 points and three blocked shots. Jaylen Benton and 6-2 Fr. Tahj Eaddy each scored 10 points. William Tchiengang pulled down eight rebounds.
Nick Mayo led Eastern Kentucky with 12 points and eight rebounds. Deandre Dishman also scored 12 points on six of seven from the field. Zach Charles recorded eight points and eight rebounds. 6-6 Fr. Marlon Adams added nine points and four rebounds.
