Lafayette coach Allison Denton started the following lineup: 5-9 So. Lindi DeBilzan, 5-9 Jr. Caroline Bennett, 5-10 Sr. Kiara Pankins, 5-3 Jr. Terri Abram, and 5-8 Fr. Shelbi Wilson. Southwestern coach Stephen Butcher II countered with 5-9 So. Kallie Sheron, 5-8 Sr. Cassi Reed, 5-10 Fr. Regi Cundiff, 5-4 8th Grade Alexa Smiddy, and 5-8 Fr. Kennedy Harris.
Southwestern led 55-38 after three quarters and held on to defeat Lafayette by a score of 71-64. Southwestern shot 47.6% from the field including four of 14 from the three point line. The Lady Warriors connected on 27 of 36 free throws, pulled down 31 rebounds, and scored 17 points off 13 Lafayette turnovers. Lafayette shot 45.8% from the field including six of 20 from beyond the arc. The Lady Generals connected on 14 of 26 free throws, pulled down 26 rebounds, and scored 17 points off 16 Southwestern turnovers.
Regi Cundiff led Southwestern with 21 points and two steals. Cundiff was eight of 10 from the field and five of six free throws. Kennedy Harris added 16 points including two three point baskets and four rebounds. Cassi Reed recorded 15 points, 10 rebounds, and seven assists.
Kiara Pankins led Lafayette with 23 points and 11 rebounds. Caroline Bennett added 17 points including five three point baskets. Lindi DeBilzan recorded 12 points and seven assists.
