The score was tied at halftime thanks to the heroics of Clay County’s 5-6 So. Shelby Phillips who connected on seven three point baskets in the first half. Harlan County went inside in the second half and led by 6-0 Jr. Blair Green and 6-1 Jr. Kaylea Goss pulled away for a 63-46 victory. Harlan County shot 59% from the field including four of 10 from the three point line. The Lady Black Bears connected on 13 of 19 free throws, and pulled down 24 rebounds. Clay County shot 35.9% from the field including nine of 20 from beyond the arc. The Lady Tigers connected on nine of 11 free throws, and pulled down 15 rebounds.
6-0 Jr. Blair Green led Harlan County with 17 points. 6-1 Jr. Kaylea Cross added 15 points and nine rebounds. 5-4 So. Phebe McHargue recorded 13 points and 5-7 Jr. Rebecca Middleton chipped in with 10 points.
5-6 So. Shelby Phillips led Clay County with 24 points on eight three point baskets. 5-9 Fr. Kaylee Mathis added 15 points including eight of nine free throws.
