Western Kentucky University coach Michelle Clark-Heard started the following lineup: 6-1 Jr. Tashia Brown, 6-1 Jr. Ivy Brown, 6-2 Fr. Sarah Price, 5-8 Sr. Micah Jones, and 5-11 Sr. Kendall Noble. Eastern Kentucky University coach Chrissy Roberts countered with 6-0 Sr. Amadi Brooks, 6-0 Fr. Tae’Lour Richardson, 6-3 Jr. Madison Woods, 5-5 Sr. Mariah Massengill, and 5-8 Sr. Alexus Cooper.
Western Kentucky University led 41-29 at halftime and pulled away in the final half to defeat Eastern Kentucky University 90-63. The score was tied six times with three lead changes in the first half. Western Kentucky shot 54% from the field including six of 14 from the three point line. The Hilltoppers connected on 16 of 21 free throws, pulled down 45 rebounds, and scored 18 points off 17 Eastern Kentucky turnovers. Eastern Kentucky shot 34.8% from the field including four of 20 from beyond the arc. The Colonels connected on 13 of 18 free throws, pulled down 31 rebounds, and scored 20 points off 18 Western Kentucky turnovers.
Kendall Noble led Western Kentucky with 18 points, eight rebounds, five assists, and two steals. Ivy Brown added 14 points and four rebounds. Tashia Brown recorded 12 points and five rebounds. 5-11 So. Jaycee Coe added 11 points including three three point baskets.
5-11 Sr. Shavontae Naylor led Eastern Kentucky with 20 points, five rebounds, and three steals. Alexus Cooper added 18 points including three three point baskets. 6-1 Sr. Jalen O’Bannon recorded 10 points and seven rebounds.
