Eastern Kentucky University coach Dan McHale started the following lineup: 6-7 Sr. Jarelle Reischel, 6-5 Jr. Javontae Hawkins, 6-9 Fr. Nick Mayo, 6-1 So. Paul Jackson, and 6-2 Jr. Isaac McGlone.  East Tennessee State University coach Steve Forbes countered with 6-3 Jr. TJ Cromer, 6-2 Jr. AJ Merriweather, 6-7 Jr. Isaac Banks, 6-0 Sr. Petey McClain, and 6-2 Sr. Ge’Lawn Guyn.

East Tennessee State University defeated Eastern Kentucky University 87-81 in a game in which each team enjoyed double digit leads.  The score was tied 10 times and there were eight lead changes.  ETSU shot 54.5% from the field including 10 of 19 from the three point line. They connected on 17 of 26 free throws, pulled down 29 rebounds, and scored 33 points off 21 Eastern Kentucky turnovers.  Eastern Kentucky shot 53.1% from the field including 11 of 24 from beyond the arc.  The Colonels connected on 18 of 24 free throws, pulled down 26 rebounds, and scored 26 points off 18 ETSU turnovers.

Ge’Lawn Guyn led ETSU with 27 points including six three point baskets.  TJ Cromer added 22 points, seven rebounds, and five assists.  AJ Merriweather added nine points and six rebounds.  7-0 Jr. Peter Jurkin chipped in with nine points and three rebounds.

Jarelle Reischel led Eastern Kentucky with 29 points including three three point baskets and 10 of 11 free throws.  Reischel added six rebounds and three assists.  Javontae Hawkins added 23 points including three three point baskets and nine rebounds.  Nick Mayo recorded 11 points and six rebounds.
