Lafayette coach Allison Denton started the following lineup: 5-11 Jr. Kiara Pankins, 5-8 So. Caroline Bennett, 5-10 Sr. Aisha Conwell, 5-6 So. Terri Abram, and 5-8 8th Grade Shelbi Wilson.  Bryan Station coach Shawn Ransom countered with 5-8 Sr. Zariah Kavanaugh, 5-5 Jr. Carah Burdette, 5-11 So. Gracie Baczkowski, 5-4 Sr. Ezhaunnai Ighodaro, and 5-5 Jr. J’lyn Martin.

 

Lafayette defeated Bryan Station 69-63 in a thriller that had a little of everything.  There were seven lead changes and six ties in the game.  There was a technical foul called on each team and a total of nine bench personnel (players and managers) ejected tonight as a result of leaving their bench during an altercation on the floor.  Lafayette shot 48.1% from the field including one of three from the three point line.  The Lady Generals connected on 18 of 32 free throws, pulled down 49 rebounds, and scored 17 points off 18 Bryan Station turnovers.  Bryan Station shot 32.4% from the field including seven of 26 from beyond the arc.  The Lady Defenders connected on 12 of 22 free throws, pulled down 37 rebounds, and scored 21 points off 26 Lafayette turnovers.

 

Kiara Pankins led Lafayette with 26 points, nine rebounds, two blocked shots, and three steals.  Aisha Conwell added 12 points and eight rebounds.  Shelbi Wilson chipped in with nine points and six rebounds.  5-8 Jr. Kendyl Powell also scored nine points.  Terri Abram recorded eight points, eight rebounds, and four assists.

 

J’Lyn Martin led Bryan Station with 20 points including four three point baskets and three steals.  Ezhaunnai Ighodaro added 13 points, five rebounds, and five steals.  Zariah Kavanaugh recorded 10 points, eight rebounds, and seven assists.  Carah Burdette chipped in with 10 points, six rebounds, two assists, and three steals.
