Tates Creek vs. Henry Clay

Fast break football, basketball on grass, pin ball football, whatever you want to call it Henry Clay and Tates Creek lit up the scoreboard tonight as Henry Clay earned a 70-64 victory in a game that featured a combined 134 points, 57 first downs, and 1184 yards of total offense. Joquise Buford makes his first appearance for Henry Clay this season and carried the ball 34 times for 321 yards and five touchdowns. Peyton Burke kept pace for Tates Creek as he completed 16 of 21 passes for 327 yards and five touchdowns. Henry Clay recorded 30 first downs and 540 yards of total offense. The Blue Devils were penalized 13 times for 109 yards, and had one pass intercepted. Tates Creek recorded 27 first downs and 644 yards of total offense. The Commodores were penalized 13 times for 123 yards, lost a fumble, and had a pass intercepted.
Joquise Buford led Henry Clay’s ground game with 321 yards and five touchdowns on 34 carries. Austin Bledsoe added 150 yards and a touchdown on 21 carries. Marcus Tyler completed four of five passes for 58 yards and two touchdowns with one interception. CJ Tackett completed his only pass for a 12 yard touchdown pass. Tyven McWhorter caught three passes for 39 yards and a touchdown. Davonte Robinson and Jack Jackson caught touchdown passes of 27 and four yards respectively. Davonte Robinson also scored on a 91 yard kickoff return. Johnson-Sanders led the defense with nine solo and three assisted tackles. Bry Berezowitz added five solo and two assisted tackles and recovered a fumble.
Laron Warner led Tates Creek’s ground game with 138 yards and a touchdown on 11 carries. Peyton Burke carried the ball 18 times for 76 yards and a touchdown. Darryl Bell recorded 54 yards and a touchdown on 10 carries. Langston Love carried the ball six times for 45 yards and a touchdown. Peyton Burke completed 16 of 21 passes for 327 yards and five touchdowns with one interception. Jackson Beerman caught four passes for 137 yards and a touchdown. Darryl Bell added three receptions for 42 yards. Robbie Lofton caught two passes for 24 yards and two touchdowns. Montez Johns caught a 58 yard pass and Jaden Baird added a 15 yard scoring reception. Laron Warner returned five kickoffs for 160 yards with a long return of 64 yards. Sakima Opsal led the defense with nine solo and five assisted tackles with 2.5 of his tackles resulting in losses totaling nine yards. De’Angalo Boon added seven solo and three assisted tackles. Elijah Johnson recorded five solo and two assisted tackles and recovered a fumble.
