Eastern Kentucky coach Jeff Neubauer started the following lineup: 6-7 Sr. Timmy Knipp, 6-5 Jr. Denzel Richardson, 6-8 Sr. Eric Stutz, 6-2 Sr. Corey Walden, and 6-2 So. Isaac McGlone.  Jacksonville State coach James Green countered with 6-7 Sr. DJ Felder, 6-3 Sr. Darion Rackley, 6-8 Sr. Jamal Hunter, 5-10 Sr. Avery Moore, and 6-3 Jr. Jaquail Townser.

Eastern Kentucky held a seven point lead with 1:31 left in the game but Jacksonville State outscored the Colonels 12-1 down the stretch including seven free throws to earn a 71-67 victory.  There were four ties and eight lead changes in this game.  Jacksonville state shot 50% from the field including four of 12 from the three point line.  The Gamecocks connected on 21 of 24 free throws, pulled down 27 rebounds, and scored 19 points off 17 Eastern Kentucky turnovers.  Eastern Kentucky shot 48.1% from the field including nine of 20 from beyond the arc.  The Colonels connected on eight of 10 free throws, pulled down 24 rebounds, and scored 22 points off 15 Jacksonville State turnovers.

Darion Rackley led Jacksonville State with 25 points including eight of eight free throws, six rebounds, three assists, and four steals.  Jamal Hunter added 14 points including eight of nine free throws and six rebounds.  Avery Moore chipped in with 10 points including two three point baskets. 

Eric Stutz led Eastern Kentucky with 16 points, eight rebounds, and four assists.  Timmy Knipp also scored 16 points including four three point baskets.  Corey Walden recorded 10 points and seven assists.  Denzel Richardson added nine points.
