Owensboro Catholic coach Michael Robertson started the following lineup: 5-9 So. Annabel Moore, 5-9 Jr. Destiny Howard, 5-9 Sr. Kaylyn Pearson, 5-6 So. Mikayla Berry, and 5-9 Sr. Haley Garvin.  Sacred Heart Academy coach Donna Moir countered with 5-9 Sr. DaiJia Ruffin, 5-6 Sr. Raven Merriweather, 5-10 So. Lydia Taylor, 5-7 So. Meghan Colley, and 5-4 Jr. Gretchen Samsel.

Sacred Heart Academy defeated Owensboro Catholic 63-62 in overtime.  There were seven lead changes and seven ties in the game.  Sacred Heart’s DaiJia Ruffin scored a layup with nine seconds left in regulation to tie the score at 59-59 and force overtime.  Raven Merriweather scored a layup in the closing minute in overtime to give Sacred Heart Academy a 63-62 lead in what proved to be the game winning field goal.

Sacred Heart shot 42.9% from the field including four of 23 from the three point line.  The Valkyries connected on five of eight free throws, pulled down 34 rebounds, and scored 21 points off 21 Owensboro Catholic turnovers.  Owensboro Catholic shot 46.7% from the field including one of three from beyond the arc.  The Lady Aces connected on 19 of 27 free throws, pulled down 33 rebounds, and scored 17 points off 18 Sacred Heart turnovers.

DaiJia Ruffin led Sacred Heart with 24 points, eight rebounds, five assists, and three steals.  Gretchen Samsel added 14 points including two three point baskets and four assists.  Raven Merriweather recorded 10 points, eight rebounds, five assists, and six steals.

Kaylyn Pearson led Owensboro Catholic with 17 points, 11 rebounds, four assists, and three steals.  5-9 So. Caroline Hayden added 11 points.  Destiny Howard chipped in with 10 points and nine rebounds.  Mikayla Berry recorded 10 points , four rebounds, and four steals.
