Scott County coach Billy Hicks started the following lineup: 6-3 Sr. Tony Martini, 6-1 Sr. Matt Murray, 7-1 So. Raekwon Long, 6-1 Sr. Teddy Ware, and 6-2 Sr. Trent Gilbert. Eastern coach David Henley countered with 6-3 Sr. Tyler Cambron, 6-3 Jr. Cameron Reed, 6-3 Jr. Trey Moses, 5-11 Sr. Bryce Walker-Byrd, and 6-1 Sr. Austin Howard.
Eastern led 32-22 in the second quarter but Scott County rallied for a 67-65 victory. There were 10 lead changes and five ties in the game. Scott County shot 42.9% from the field including five of 19 from the three point line. The Cardinals connected on 14 of 15 free throws, pulled down 30 rebounds, and scored 15 points off 10 Eastern turnovers. Eastern shot 45.8% from the field including eight of 18 from beyond the arc. The Eagles connected on 13 of 14 free throws, pulled down 29 rebounds, and scored 11 points off six Scott County turnovers.
Trent Gilbert led Scott County with 19 points including 11 of 11 free throws. Raekwon Long added 14 points, seven rebounds, and two blocked shots. Teddy Ware chipped in with 12 points on four three point baskets. Tony Martini recorded 11 points, 12 rebounds, and two blocked shots.
Cameron Reed led Eastern with 21 points including five three point baskets. Austin Howard added 16 points. Trey Moses chipped in with 11 points and nine rebounds.
