Model coach Wes Scarberry started the following lineup: 6-3 Sr. Zack Rice-Gordon, 6-1 Sr. Jared Adams, 6-5 Sr. Caleb Kincaid, 5-10 Sr. Keith Mason, and 5-8 So. Ephraim Otieno. Lexington Christian Academy coach Brad Carter countered with 6-7 Jr. Drew Trimble, 6-4 Jr. Benton Nighbert, 6-5 Sr. Michael Young, 5-10 Jr. John Stein, and 6-2 So. Trevor Hill.
LCA trailed 28-25 at halftime but outscored Model 18-6 in the third quarter on their way to a 58-46 victory. LCA shot 40% from the field including four of 14 from the three point line. The Eagles connected on 18 of 22 free throws, pulled down 29 rebounds, and scored 14 points off 16 Model turnovers. Model shot 30.4% from the field including three of 10 from beyond the arc. The Patriots connected on 15 of 18 free throws, pulled down 32 rebounds, and scored 15 points off 16 LCA turnovers.
Trevor Hill led LCA with 23 points including two three point baskets. Michael Young added 22 points, seven rebounds, and four steals. Drew Trimble recorded seven points, 11 rebounds, and four assists.
Zack Rice-Gordon led Model with 16 points including three three point baskets and nine rebounds. Jared Adams and Ephraim Otieno each recorded 12 points. 6-2 So. Alex Chen pulled down seven rebounds.
