Ballard coach Frank Wright started the following lineup: 5-8 Sr. Aundrea Matchen, 5-4 Sr. Brandi Ray, 5-10 Sr. Javonna Layfield, 5-6 Jr. Alex Martin, and 5-3 8th grader Briana Mishler.  Sacred Heart Academy coach Donna Moir countered with 5-9 Jr. DaiJia Ruffin, 5-6 Sr. Raven Merriweather, 5-11 So. Maggie Colley, 5-4 Jr. Ashley Johnson, and 5-4 Jr. Gretchen Samsel.

Ballard came from behind in the final two minutes to defeat Sacred Heart by a score of 58-56.  Ballard shot 56.1% from the field including two of eight from the three point line.  The lady Bruins connected on 10 of 15 free throws, pulled down 22 rebounds, and scored 29 points off 20 Sacred Heart turnovers.  Sacred Heart shot 55.3% from the field including eight of 14 from beyond the arc.  The Valkyries connected on six of nine free throws, pulled down 16 rebounds, and scored 25 points off 18 Ballard turnovers.

Javonna Layfield led Ballard with 19 points and five rebounds.  Aundrea Matchen added 12 points and seven rebounds.  5-8 Fr. Andrea Patterson chipped in with 11 points and five rebounds.  Briana Mishler recorded 10 points.

Raven Merriweather led Sacred Heart with 20 points including two three point baskets, six rebounds, and four steals.  DaiJia Ruffin added 14 points and four rebounds.  Gretchen Samsel chipped in with nine points on three three point baskets.  Ashley Johnson recorded seven points and five assists.
