Paul Laurence Dunbar raced out to a 35-0 halftime lead on their way to a 42-7 victory over Madison Central. Dunbar recorded 14 first downs and 370 yards of total offense. The Bulldogs were penalized twice for 25 yards, lost a fumble, and had a pass intercepted. Madison Central recorded 18 first downs and 349 yards of total offense. The Indians were penalized five times for 39 yards, lost two fumbles, and had a pass intercepted.
AJ Williams led Dunbar’s ground game with 117 yards and three touchdowns on 13 carries. Cam Pergram carried the ball eight times for 51 yards and a touchdown. Jay Coleman carried the ball three times for 40 yards and a touchdown. Emory Thompson completed three of seven passes for 117 yards and a touchdown. Jmaurion Dunn caught one pass for 66 yards and a touchdown. Derante Sanders led the defense with 12 solo and three assisted tackles with three of his tackles resulting in losses totaling five yards and recovered a fumble. Cam Pergram added five solo and two assisted tackles. Jmaurion Dunn recorded five solo and one assisted tackles. Luke Daily added five solo tackles with two of his tackles resulting in losses totaling eight yards.
Johan Williams led Madison Central’s ground game with 103 yards and a touchdown on 17 carries. Korrion Crier carried the ball 17 times for 71 yards. Zach Hardin completed 11 of 27 passes for 171 yards with one interception. Caleb McClurg caught four passes for 49 yards. Auston Campbell added three receptions for 67 yards. John Williams caught two passes for 48 yards. Keonta Googins led the defense with four solo and two assisted tackles with two of his tackles resulting in losses totaling nine yards. Clay Jordan added four solo tackles.
