Lexington Catholic coach Brandon Salsman started the following lineup: 6-5 So. Tanner Johnson, 6-3 So. Reese Ryan. 6-9 Sr. Jack Whitman, 5-11 Sr. Dillon Avare, and 6-2 So. Jarod Griffin. Lexington Christian Academy coach Brad Carter countered with 6-5 So. Matt Rose, 6-3 So. Benton Nighbert, 6-5 Jr. Michael Young, 5-9 So. Drew Schacht, and 5-10 Sr. Tyler Harville.
Lexington Catholic defeated Lexington Christian Academy by a score of 56-42. Lexington Christian Academy cut the deficit to five; 42-37 with 4:33 left in the game when Lexington Catholic missed a long three point attempt but the rebound bounced into the hands of a LexCath player and Tanner Johnson connected on a three point basket to give Lexington Catholic a 45-37 lead which they never relinquished. Lexington Catholic shot 43.2% from the field including six of 16 from the three point line. The Knights connected on 12 of 16 free throws, pulled down 25 rebounds, and scored 16 points off 12 LCA turnovers. LCA shot 32.7% from the field including 10 of 26 from beyond the arc. The Eagles did not attempt a free throw, pulled down 31 rebounds, and scored three points off five Lexington Catholic turnovers.
Jack Whitman led Lexington Catholic with 22 points and 10 rebounds. Jarod Griffin added 12 points. Tanner Johnson chipped in with 10 points.
Tyler Harville led LCA with 12 points on four three point baskets. Matt Rose added nine points and eight rebounds. Benton Nighbert also scored nine points on three three point baskets. 6-4 Sr. Jon Lannertone recorded seven points and eight rebounds.
