Lafayette coach Allison Denton started the following lineup: 6-0 Jr. Sarah Cooley, 5-11 So. Dee Givens, 6-4 So. Ashanti Thomas, 5-6 Jr. Megumi Nagahiro, and 5-6 Jr. Ken’yale Demus.  Henry Clay coach Eric Sanford countered with 5-8 So. Kerrigan Davis, 5-5 So. Kennedy Coney, 5-9 Jr. Areanna Porter, 5-6 Fr. T’laya Lyvers, and 5-6 So. Destiny Carter.

Lafayette defeated Henry Clay by a score of 47-36.  Henry Clay got off to a slow start missing their first 12 shots from the field and falling behind 16-5.  The Lady Devils battled back behind their superiority on the offensive boards (27-14 for the game)) and cut the deficit to three 27-24 before Lafayette pulled away after the intermission for the victory.  Lafayette shot 35.1% from the field including four of 10 from the three point line.  The Lady Generals connected on 17 of 25 free throws, pulled down 35 rebounds, and scored 17 points off 15 Henry Clay turnovers.  Henry Clay shot 22.4% from the field including one of nine from beyond the arc.  The Lady Devils connected on nine of 16 free throws, pulled down 43 rebounds, and scored 14 points off 18 Lafayette turnovers.  Henry Clay attempted 21 more shots (58-37) from the field than Lafayette.

Dee Givens led Lafayette with 16 points and four steals.  Ken’yale Demus added 10 points including two three point baskets.  Sarah Cooley chipped in with nine points on nine of 10 from the free throw line and pulled down six rebounds.  Ashanti Thomas pulled down 11 rebounds.  5-8 8th grader Kiara Pankins recorded eight points including two three point baskets and six rebounds. 

Areanna Porter led Henry Clay with 11 points and 16 rebounds.  5-8 Jr. Kamari Boyd added seven points and nine rebounds.  T’laya Lyvers also recorded seven points.
