Franklin County  vs.  Tates Creek (Girls)

Franklin County coach Joey Thacker started the following lineup: 5-8 Fr. Dasia Kilbourne, 5-8 8th grade Rebecca Cook, 5-9 Fr. Malaka Frank, 5-4 Jr. Nannilina White, and 5-5 Sr. Raven Timmons.  Tates Creek coach Tina Winn countered with 5-6 So. Haley Blackburn, 5-8 Sr. Dominique Etling-Turner, 5-9 Sr. Katie Pippen, 5-5 Sr. Lexi Whaley, and 5-6 Sr. Oney Harrison.

Franklin County defeated Tates Creek 74-66 in overtime.  Tates Creek’s Katie Pippen nailed a three pointer at the buzzer in regulation to knot the score at 63-63 and force overtime.  Tates Creek actually led Franklin County 43-29 in the third quarter before a Franklin County rally.  There were four lead changes and four ties in the game. 

Franklin County shot 34.3% from the field including five of 18 from the three point line.  The Lady Flyers connected on 21 of 40 free throws, pulled down 49 rebounds, and scored 21 points off 19 Tates Creek turnovers.  Tates Creek shot 38.3% from the field including six of 18 from beyond the arc.  The Lady Commodores connected on 14 of 20 free throws, pulled down 46 rebounds, and scored 14 points off 13 Franklin County turnovers.  Oney Harrison and Dominique Etling-Turner both fouled out for Tates Creek.

Dasia Kilbourne led Franklin County with 25 points including four three point baskets and five rebounds.  Malaka Frank added 18 points and five rebounds.  Nannilena White chipped in with 13 points and five rebounds.  Raven Timmons recorded nine points and nine rebounds.

Katie Pippen led Tates Creek with 28 points and eight rebounds.  Oney Harrison added 17 points and Dominique Etling-Turner recorded 10 points and eight rebounds.  Lexi Whaley dished out six assists.
