Berea (16-13)  vs.  Madison Central (24-4) (Girls)

 

Berea coach Jerry Bingham started the following lineup: 6-2 Jr. Hannah Haycraft, 5-7 Sr. Taylor Winstead, 5-10 Sr. Sophia Shearer, 5-4 Sr. Brooke Coccari, and 5-6 So. Chase Fain.  Madison Central coach Robert Cooksey countered with 6-2 Jr. Ashton Feldhaus, 5-9 Jr. Heather Hinkle, 5-10 Sr. Kristen Congleton, 5-5 Jr. Larryn Brooks, and 5-6 Sr. Ashley Hinkle.

 

Madison Central led 27-6 after the first quarter on their way to an 81-38 victory over Berea.  Madison Central shot 50% from the field including seven of 14 from the three point line.  The Indians connected on 16 of 21 free throws, pulled down 42 rebounds, and scored 25 points off 19 Berea turnovers.  Berea shot 32.6% from the field including zero of 13 from beyond the arc.  The Pirates connected on 10 of 16 free throws, pulled down 22 rebounds, and scored seven points off 10 Madison Central turnovers.

 

Larryn Brooks led Madison Central with 20 points, eight rebounds, five assists, and three steals.  Ashton Feldhaus added 14 points and five rebounds.  Ashley Hinkle chipped in with nine points.

 

Sophia Shearer led Berea with 17 points and five rebounds.  Hannah Haycraft added nine points.

Berea (15-15)  vs.  Madison Central (28-1) (Boys)

 

Berea coach William Smallwood started the following lineup: 6-3 Sr. Barry Scudder-Davis, 5-11 Sr. Ben Miller, 6-6 Jr. Daniel Hubbard, 5-9 Sr. Chris Kidd, and 5-10 Jr. Eli Woodie.  Madison Central coach Allen Feldhaus countered with 6-5 Jr. Quan Taylor, 6-1 Sr. John O’Bryan, 6-6 Sr. Hunter Allen, 6-1 Jr. Ken-Jah Bosley, and 6-1 Jr. Dominique Hawkins.

 

Madison Central scored 33 points off 24 Berea turnovers in a 79-30 victory.  Madison Central shot 59.3% from the field including three of 10 from the three point line.  The Indians connected on 12 of 18 free throws, pulled down 33 rebounds, and held a 33-2 advantage in bench scoring.  Berea shot 30.8% from the field including one of 12 from beyond the arc.  The Pirates connected on five of seven free throws, pulled down 20 rebounds, and scored two points off seven Madison Central turnovers.

 

Dominique Hawkins led Madison Central with 16 points on seven of eight from the field and two of two from the free throw line.  Hunter Allen and Quan Taylor added nine points each.

 

Barry Scudder-Davis led Berea with 16 points and four rebounds.
