Garrard County  vs.  Lafayette (Girls)

Garrard County coach Scott Bolin started the following lineup: 5-9 Jr. Ryan Cain, 5-9 Jr. Kelly Smith, 5-9 So. Victoria Floyd, 5-7 So. Devin Conley, and 5-8 Sr. Devin Napier.  Lafayette coach Allison Denton countered with 6-0 So. Sarah Cooley, 5-6 So. Sherlisa Demus, 6-3 Fr. Ashanti Thomas, 5-5 Sr. Sarah Martin, and 5-6 So Ken’yale Demus.

Garrard County led 33-32 after three quarters but Lafayette rallied for a 55-46 victory.  Lafayette shot 43.5% from the field including seven of 16 from the three point line.  The Lady Generals connected on eight of 17 free throws, pulled down 38 rebounds, and scored eight points off 14 Garrard County turnovers.  Garrard County shot 35.6% from the field including three of 14 from beyond the arc.  The Golden Lions connected on 11 of 17 free throws, pulled down 27 rebounds, and scored 11 points off 17 Lafayette turnovers.

Ken’yale Demus led Lafayette with 20 points including three three point baskets.  Sarah Cooley added 13 points, nine rebounds, and four assists.  Ashanti Thomas records six points and 12 rebounds.

Devin Napier led Garrard County with 11 points and five rebounds.  Ryan Cain added 11 points including two three point baskets.  Kelly Smith chipped in with nine points.  Devin Conley recorded eight points, eight rebounds, and four steals.
