Lafayette coach Allison Tate Denton started the following lineup: 5-9 Jr. Taylor Mynear, 5-7 Jr. Emily Justice, 6-2 Sr. Shomari Kendrick, 5-5 Jr. Sarah Martin, and 5-2 Sr. Jariana Gillespie. Lexington Catholic coach Chelsea Chowning countered with 6-0 Jr. Alex Botkin. 5-10 Jr. Emily Johns, 5-7 Jr. Bonnie Rhule, and 5-8 So. Octavia Wilson.
Lexington Catholic led 43-31 after three quarters but had to survive a furious rally by Lafayette to claim a 51-50 victory. Lexington Catholic shot 43.2% from the field including four of nine from the three point line. The Lady Knights connected on nine of 14 free throws, pulled down 30 rebounds, and scored 14 points off 14 Lafayette turnovers. Lafayette shot 38.9% from the field including five of 22 from beyond the arc. The Lady Generals connected on three of three free throws, pulled down 33 rebounds, and scored 11 points off eight Lexington Catholic turnovers.
Alex Botkin led Lexington Catholic with 27 points, 13 rebounds, and seven steals. Botkin was 11 of 16 from the field and five of six from the free throw line. Octavia Wilson added 11 points including three three point baskets.
Jariana Gillespie led Lafayette with 17 points and five rebounds. Sarah Martin added 14 points including four three point baskets. Shomari Kendrick recorded 10 points, 16 rebounds, and four blocked shots.
