Scott County (8-3) at Clark County (8-3) 6A Playoffs November 13th
Topic: Football

Scott County led 18-7 at the half and held on to defeat Clark County by a score of 18-15.  Scott County defeated Clark County 40-0 in late September but Clark County had remained undefeated since that game.  The game proved costly for Scott County as defensive end Forrest Baker went down with a knee injury early in the second half.  Clark County made some adjustments at halftime and shut down Scott County's high octane running game but Scott County also made some big defensive plays down the stretch including an interception by Josh Walls to earn the victory.

Scott County recorded 13 first downs and 239 yards of total offense.  The Cardinals were penalized four times for 38 yards.  Clark County recorded 11 first downs and 213 yards of total offense.  The Cardinals were penalized four times for 31 yards, lost a fumble and had a pass intercepted.

Josh Walls led Scott County's ground game with 153 yards and two touchdowns on 23 carries.  Brooks Barber carried the ball 16 times for 51 yards.  Tevin Buffin completed two of seven passes for 29 yards and a TD.  Joe Martin caught a 10 yard TD pass.  Jay Willmott kicked off four times with three touchbacks.  Cody Hudson led the defense with five solo and five assisted tackles.  1.5 of his tackles resulted in losses totalling 12 yards.

Andrew Dini led Clark County's ground attack with 70 yards and a TD on 11 carries.  Darius Skinner carried the ball 14 times for 61 yards and a touchdown.  Dini completed six of 17 passes for 75 yards with one interception.  Mykal Barnes caught three passes for 49 yards.  Josh Webb led the defense with six solo and two assisted tackles.  Robert Bell added three solo and six assisted tackles.
