Fleming County  vs.  Lafayette

 

Fleming County coach Mark Starns started the following lineup: 6-1 Jr. Brady Saunders, 6-0 Jr. Austin Crisp, 6-3 Jr. Troy Steward, 5-8 Jr. Bryson McKee, and 5-10 Sr. Martin Puente.  Lafayette coach Mike Mendenhall III countered with 6-8 Sr. Nick Trisko, 6-4 Sr. Aaron Evans, 6-9 Jr. Jackson Davis, 6-2 Jr. Lance Blakely, and 6-3 Sr. Tranard Chester.

 

Lafayette pulled away in the second half to defeat Fleming County by a score of 78-69.  There were seven lead changes and six ties in the game.  Lafayette shot a sizzling 63% from the field including 11 of 15 from the three point line.  The Generals connected on nine of 11 free throws, pulled down 33 rebounds, and scored 11 points off 10 Fleming County turnovers.  Fleming County shot 43.1% from the field including seven of 19 from beyond the arc.  They connected on 12 of 15 free throws, pulled down 19 rebounds, and scored 20 points off 20 Lafayette turnovers.

 

Tranard Chester led Lafayette with 28 points including seven three point baskets.  Lance Blakely added 13 points including three three point baskets.  Jackson Davis recorded 12 points, 13 rebounds, and three blocked shots.

 

Brady Saunders led Fleming County with 18 points and three steals.  Troy Steward added 16 points including three three point baskets and seven rebounds.  Austin Crisp chipped in with 14 points including two three point baskets.

Edgewater coach Matthew Turner started the following lineup: 6-4 Jr. Eddie Keith, 6-3 Sr. Kaashif English, 6-6 Sr. Deangelo Legrier, 6-0 Sr. Wayne Grant, and 6-2 Sr. Josh Howard.  Franklin County coach Tommy Johnson countered with 6-3 Sr. Conner Meyer, 6-2 So. Ryan Schneider, 6-3 Jr. Chris Roberts, 5-8 Jr. Quinten Brownlee, and 5-11 Jr. Rylan Rowe.

 

Edgewater scored 34 points off 27 Franklin County turnovers in a 92-54 victory.  Edgewater shot 55.2% from the field including 11 of 28 from the three point line.  The Fightin’ Eagles connected on seven of 13 free throws, pulled down 32 rebounds, and held a 44-10 advantage in bench points.  Franklin County shot 46.8% from the field including two of 13 from beyond the arc.  The Flyers connected on eight of 19 free throws, pulled down 32 rebounds, and scored 10 points off 14 Edgewater turnovers.

 

5-11 Sr. Travis Earley led Edgewater with 17 points.  Wayne Grant added 15 points including three three point baskets.  6-2 Sr. Kyle Sanders chipped in with 14 points.  Deangelo Legrier recorded 11 points and seven rebounds.  Eddie Keith added 11 points, five rebounds, and five steals.

 

Rylan Rowe led Franklin County with 28 points and three steals.  6-0 Jr. Lorenzo McCaskill added seven points.

Montgomery County raced out to a 21-4 first quarter lead in a 77-45 victory over East Carter.  Montgomery County shot 62.5% from the field including six of nine from the three point line.  The Indians connected on 11 of 18 free throws, pulled down 33 rebounds, and scored 20 points off 16 East Carter turnovers.  East Carter shot 31.3% from the field including four of 17 from beyond the arc.  The Raiders connected on 11 of 14 free throws, pulled down 24 rebounds, and scored six points off 13 Montgomery County turnovers.

 

Omar Prewitt led Montgomery County with 21 points including three three point baskets and nine rebounds.  Bryan Wallace added 13 points.  Tyler Jones recorded 10 points and nine assists.  Darius Jones chipped in with nine points.

 

Jordan Burchett led East Carter with 10 points.  5-10 Jr. Bradley Marsh added eight points.

Worthington Kilbourne eked out a 60-58 overtime victory over Covington Holy Cross.  The score was tied nine times with seven lead changes. Worthington Kilbourne trailed 17-6 in the first quarter but rallied for the victory.  The victors shot 43.6% from the field including six of 15 from the three point line.  The Wolverines connected on six of eight free throws, pulled down 31 rebounds, and scored 15 points off 12 Holy Cross turnovers.  Holy Cross shot 43.5% from the field including five of 21 from beyond the arc.  The Indians connected on 13 of 19 free throws, pulled down 27 rebounds, and scored 11 points off 12 Worthington Kilbourne turnovers.

 

Ryan Adolph led Worthington Kilbourne with 19 points including five three point baskets.  Seth Hill added 14 points and seven assists.  6-7 Sr. Tyler Stern-Tucker chipped in with 10 points and nine rebounds.

 

Tony Campbell led Holy Cross with 13 points, 10 rebounds, and six blocked shots.  Christian McClendon added 13 points, seven rebounds, and three assists.  Burt Pouncy recorded 13 points including three three point baskets.  6-1 Fr. Markel McClendon also reached double figures with 10 points.

Fleming County trailed 34-20 in the second quarter but rallied for a 59-57 victory over Franklin County.  There were five ties and five lead changes in the game.  Fleming county shot 47.4% from the field including five of 16 from the three point line.  The Panthers connected on 18 of 27 free throws, pulled down 23 rebounds, and scored 12 points off 15 Franklin County turnovers.  Franklin County shot 47.8% from the field including eight of 14 from beyond the arc.  The Flyers connected on five of 14 free throws, pulled down 29 rebounds, and scored 11 points off 12 Fleming County turnovers.

 

Austin Crisp led Fleming County with 20 points including nine of nine free throws, and four assists.  Troy Steward added 18 points including three three point baskets and six rebounds.  Brady Saunders recorded 16 points on seven of nine field goals including one of one from beyond the arc, and one of two free throws.

 

Rylan Rowe led Franklin County with 19 points including three three point baskets.  6-0 Jr. Lorenzo McCaskill added 17 points including four three point baskets and eight rebounds.  Chris Roberts recorded six points and 11 rebounds.

Covington Holy Cross defeated East Carter by a score of 65-56.  East Carter jumped out to a 25-15 lead but Holy Cross recaptured the lead 34-33 at halftime.  There were two ties and 10 lead changes in the game.  Holy Cross shot 60.5% from the field including eight of 18 from the three point line.  The Indians connected on five of 13 free throws, pulled down 25 rebounds, and scored 16 points off 14 East Carter turnovers.  East Carter shot 47.7% from the field including eight of 21 from beyond the arc.  The Raiders connected on six of seven free throws, pulled down 18 rebounds, and scored nine points off 12 Holy Cross turnovers.

 

Tony Campbell led Holy Cross with 26 points and six rebounds.  Campbell was 11 of 11 from the field including three of three from beyond the arc, and one of four from the free throw line.  Blake Tiberi added 16 points.  Christian McClendon recorded nine points, five rebounds, six assists, and three steals.  Burt Pouncy chipped in with nine points, four rebounds, and three assists.

 

Connor Greene led East Carter with 20 points.  Greene was seven of nine from the field including three of four from the three point line and three of three free throws.  Kyle Stewart added 10 points.

Wayne Grant led Edgewater with 24 points.  Eddie Keith added 11 points, six rebounds, four assists, and five steals.  Josh Howard chipped in with nine points, four rebounds, and three steals.  Deangelo Legrier pulled down seven rebounds.

 

Jackson Davis led Lafayette with 17 points, 10 rebounds, and four blocked shots.  6-6 Sr. Charles Sweat-Washington added 14 points  and Lance Blakely chipped in with 12 points.

Chris Roberts led Franklin County with 23 points and 12 rebounds.  Roberts was 11 of 13 from the field and one of two from the free throw line.  Rylan Rowe added 15 points.  Conner Meyer chipped in with seven points and eight rebounds.

Tony Campbell led Holy Cross with 19 points, 15 rebounds, and five blocked shots.  Christian McClendon added 12 points, six rebounds, and five assists.  Blake Tiberi chipped in with 10 points.

Jackson Davis led Lafayette with 19 points and 13 rebounds.  5-10 Jr. Dequise Robinson also recorded 19 points.

Edgewater outscored Montgomery County 30-12 in the third quarter on their way to an 81-65 victory.  Edgewater shot 59.2% from the field including 10 of 18 from the three point line.  The Fightin’ Eagles connected on 13 of 18 free throws, pulled down 32 rebounds, and scored 21 points off 21 Montgomery County turnovers.  Montgomery County shot 48.9% from the field including two of nine from beyond the arc.  The Indians connected on 19 of 30 free throws, pulled down 19 rebounds, and scored 24 points off 26 Edgewater turnovers.

 

Deangelo Legrier led Edgewater with 21 points and 10 rebounds.  Legrier was eight of nine from the field and five of five from the free throw line.  Josh Howard added 15 points including two three point baskets and seven rebounds.  Eddie Keith chipped in with 13 point including three three point baskets. 

 

Bryan Wallace led Montgomery County with 27 points.  Darius Jones added 23 points.  Tyler Jones chipped in with seven points, four rebounds, and five assists.
