Sayre  vs.  Scott County (Girls)

 

Sayre coach Scotty Sutton started the following lineup: 5-6 8th grade Sydney Strup, 5-5 Fr. Jesse Klus, 6-3 So. Gabby Bowie, 5-6 Jr. Hadyn White, and 5-8 Jr. Molly Manella.  Scott County coach Steve Helton countered with 6-0 Jr. Tereka Guyn, 5-8 Fr. Bailey Hawkins, 6-0 Jr. Iman Guy, 5-7 Fr. Danielle DeFoor, and 5-8 Sr. Laura Szorenyi.

 

Scott County scored 33 points off 27 Sayre turnovers in a 75-50 victory.  Scott County shot 37.3% from the field including six of 22 from the three point line.  The Lady Cardinals connected on 19 of 31 free throws, pulled down 40 rebounds, and attempted 25 more shots (67-42) from the field than Sayre.  Sayre shot 38.1% from the field including one of one from beyond the arc.  The Lady Spartans connected on 17 of 24 free throws, pulled down 37 rebounds, and scored eight points off nine Scott County turnovers.

 

Laura Szorenyi led a balance Scott County attack with 18 points and six assists.  Bailey Hawkins added 16 points including four three point baskets.  Tereka Guyn recorded 15 points, 13 rebounds, and four steals.  Danielle DeFoor also recorded 15 points.  Iman Guy added six points, 12 rebounds, and three blocked shots.

 

Molly Manella led Sayre with 25 points and 10 rebounds.  Gabby Bowie added 14 points, 12 rebounds, and eight blocked shots.

Sayre coach Ted Hall started the following lineup: 6-3 So. Quinn Pergande, 6-1 Jr. Martin Durmov, 6-6 Sr. Ray Brewer, 5-9 Sr. Ben Davis, and 6-0 Jr. Justin Sanders.  Henry Clay coach Daniel Brown countered with 6-6 Jr. Trey Grundy, 6-4 Jr. Jordan Green, 6-5 Sr. Darien Tichenor, 6-0 Jr. Teddy Ware, and 6-2 So. Jeremiah Tisdale.

 

Henry Clay defeated Sayre by a score of 58-35.  Henry Clay shot 38.1% from the field including three of 14 from the three point line.  The Blue Devils connected on seven of 19 free throws, pulled down 40 rebounds, and scored 21 points off 30 Sayre turnovers.  Henry Clay attempted 24 more shots (63-39) from the field than Sayre.  Sayre shot 33.3% from the field including two of eight from beyond the arc.  The Spartans connected on seven of eight free throws, pulled down 30 rebounds, and scored six points off 13 Henry Clay turnovers.

 

Trey Grundy led Henry Clay with 17 points.  Darien Tichenor added eight points and nine rebounds.  Teddy Ware also scored eight points including two three point baskets.  Jeremiah Tisdale recorded five points, seven rebounds, and seven steals.  Jordan Green dished out seven assists.

 

Ray Brewer led Sayre with 24 points and eight rebounds.  Justin Sanders added nine points and 11 rebounds.

Henry Clay coach Eric Sanford started the following lineup: 5-9 So. Kerrigan Davis, 5-8 Jr. Kamari Boyd, 5-10 Jr. Areanna Porter, 5-6 Fr. T’laya Lyvers, and 5-6 So. Destiny Carter.  Bryan Station coach Donna Murphy countered with 5-10 Jr. Victoria McCoy, 5-9 Jr. Lakeysha Stennis, 6-1 Sr. Hallie Crumbie, 5-8 Sr. DeShante Clay, and 5-8 Sr. Serena Sandusky.

 

Bryan Station defeated Henry Clay by a score of 46-34.  Bryan Station shot 35.1% from the field including three of seven from the three point line.  The Lady Defenders connected on 17 of 29 free throws, pulled down 36 rebounds, and scored 13 points off 13 Henry Clay turnovers.  Henry Clay shot 25.9% from the field including zero of nine from beyond the arc.  The Lady Devils connected on 34 rebounds, pulled down 34 rebounds, and scored 10 points off 14 Bryan Station turnovers.

 

Serena Sandusky led Bryan Station with 12 points including eight of 12 free throws.  Victoria McCoy added nine points and six rebounds.  Hallie Crumbie recorded six points, 11 rebounds, and four blocked shots.  DeShante Clay chipped in with six points and 11 rebounds.  Lakeysha Stennis added eight points including two three point baskets.

 

T’laya Lyvers led Henry Clay with 14 points.  Destiny Carter added six points and five rebounds.  Areanna Porter recorded four points and 10 rebounds.  Kamari Boyd pulled down seven rebounds.

Scott County defeated Bryan Station by a score of 65-54.  Scott County shot 45.7% from the field including three of 13 from the three point line.  The Cardinals connected on 20 of 24 free throws, pulled down 31 rebounds, and scored nine points off seven Bryan Station turnovers.  Bryan Station shot 34.7% from the field including four of 23 from beyond the arc.  The Defenders connected on 16 of 21 free throws, pulled down 30 rebounds, and scored eight points off seven Scott County turnovers.

 

Quin Richardson led Scott County with 23 points including 14 of 15 free throws, five rebounds, and four assists.  Trent Gilbert added 20 points and seven rebounds.  Jalen Haddix chipped in with nine points and six rebounds.

 

Daquice Allen led Bryan Station with 14 points.  Marcellous Washington added 13 points including three three point baskets.  Jordan Henry recorded 11 points, six rebounds, and four assists.  Tyler Smith chipped in with eight points and seven rebounds.

Bryan Station coach Donna Murphy started the following lineup: 5-10 Jr. Victoria McCoy, 5-6 Sr. Labianca Frazier, 6-1 Sr. Hallie Crumbie, 5-8 Sr. DeShante Clay, and 5-8 Sr. Serena Sandusky.  Scott County coach Steve Helton countered with 6-0 Jr. Tereka Guyn, 5-8 Fr. Bailey Hawkins, 6-0 Jr. Iman Guy, 5-7 Fr. Danielle DeFoor, and 5-8 Sr. Laura Szorenyi.

 

Bryan Station defeated Scott County by a score of 71-51.  Bryan Station shot 49.1% from the field including one of six from the three point line.  The Lady Defenders connected on 14 of 22 free throws, pulled down 42 rebounds, and scored 22 points off 15 Scott County turnovers.  Scott County shot 41.2% from the field including three of 18 from beyond the arc.  The Lady Cardinals connected on six of 17 free throws, pulled down 25 rebounds, and scored seven points off 11 Bryan Station turnovers.

 

Victoria McCoy led Bryan Station with 20 points and 13 rebounds.  Serena Sandusky added 16 points, four assists, and four steals.  Labianca Frazier and DeShante Clay chipped in with 15 and 12 points respectively.  Hallie Crumbie pulled down nine rebounds.

Laura Szorenyi led Scott County with 14 points and five assists.  Iman Guy added 10 points and six rebounds.  Tereka Guyn chipped in with 10 points and five rebounds.

Trent Gilbert and Quin Richardson combined for 54 points to lead Scott County to an 83-64 victory over Henry Clay.  Scott County shot 50.8% from the field including eight of 10 from the three point line.  The Cardinals connected on 13 of 18 free throws, pulled down 39 rebounds, and scored 31 points off 16 Henry Clay turnovers.  Henry Clay shot 45.3% from the field including zero of five from beyond the arc.  The Blue Devils connected on 16 of 26 free throws, pulled down 30 rebounds, and scored 16 points off 14 Scott County turnovers.

 

Trent Gilbert led Scott County with 29 points including six three point baskets and seven rebounds.  Gilbert was 10 of 14 from the field including six of seven from beyond the arc, and three of three free throws.  Quin Richardson added 25 points and nine assists.  Richardson was nine of 14 from the field including two of three from beyond the arc and five of six free throws.  Jalen Haddix recorded 17 points and 10 rebounds.

 

Jordan Green led Henry Clay with 19 points and four assists.  Trey Grundy added 18 points and eight rebounds.  Christen Cunningham recorded 10 points and six assists.
