Lexington Catholic Coach Brandon Salsman started the following lineup: 6-5 Sr. Taylor Stewart, 6-6 Sr. Jordan Smart, 6-5 Sr. Nathan Novosel, 6-3 Jr. Taylor Botkin, and 6-3 Jr. Vee Sanford. Scott County Coach Billy Hicks countered with 6-3 Sr. Adrian Givens, 6-0 Sr. Marcus Birchfield, 6-5 Sr. Tyler Royse, 6-1 Sr. Jordan Adams, and 6-5 Sr. Tyler Portwood.
Lexington Catholic nipped Scott County by a score of 70-66 on Scott County's senior night. This was a game of runs with Vee Sanford hitting four free throws in the final 19 seconds to capture the victory for the Knights . Lexington Catholic raced out to an 11-0 lead but Scott County went on a 25-7 run in the second quarter to take a 34-25 halftime lead. Lexington Catholic outscored Scott County 31-13 in the third quarter to take a 56-47 lead entering the final quarter. Scott County rallied to take a 65-64 lead but Lexington Catholic surged back for the victgory.
Lexington Catholic shot 41.4% from the field including six of 19 from the three point line. The Knights connected on 16 of 23 free throws, pulled down 39 rebounds, and scored 27 points off 18 Scott County turnovers. Scott County shot 40% from the field including four of 10 from beyond the arc. The Cardinals connected on 18 of 22 free throws, grabbed 35 rebounds, and scored 23 points off 21 Lexington Catholic turnovers.
Taylor Stewart led Lexington Catholic with 18 points and seven rebounds. Vee Sanford added 16 points. Tyler Portwood led Scott County with 23 points including four three point baskets. Marcus Burchfield added 15 points. 6-7 Sr. Jordan Lee pulled down a game-high 12 rebounds.
