Elizabethtown Coach Tim Mudd started the following lineup: 5-11 Sr. Alisa Dickerson, 5-8 Jr. Dorian Downs, 6-0 Jr. Alex Jones, 5-5 Fr. Natalie Greenwell, and 5-8 Sr. Jenna Goblirsch. Henry Clay Coach Scott Cromwell countered with 5-11 Jr. Brittany Coles, 5-5 Sr. Raven Price, 6-2 Sr. Gwen Rucker, 5-5 Sr. Demetria Nichols, and 5-6 Sr. Hanna Blankenship.
Henry Clay held on down the stretch to defeat Elizabethtown by a score of 64-62. Elizabethtown got out to a quick start and led 17-12 at the end of the first quarter. Alex Jones led the Lady Panthers with six points but picked up two early fouls and went to the bench. Henry Clay rallied to take a 31-25 lead at halftime. The Lady Blue Devils took a 47-31 lead in the third quarter but Elizabethtown cut the deficit to four, 47-43, at the end of three quarters. Henry Clay surged again to lead 59-50 but Elizabethtown rallied to pull within two, 64-62, but missed a three point attempt with five seconds remaining on the clock.
Henry Clay shot 40.3% from the field including only two of 17 from the three point line. The Lady Blue Devils connected on eight of 12 free throws, pulled down 37 rebounds, and scored 12 points off 18 Elizabethtown turnovers. Elizabethtown shot 41.7% from the field including two of eight from beyond the arc. The Lady Panthers connected on 20 of 25 free throws, grabbed 34 rebounds, and scored 10 points off 14 Henry Clay turnovers.
Gwen Rucker led Henry Clay with 21 points and 17 rebounds. Brittany Coles added 14 points and seven steals. Raven Price chipped in with 12 points. Alex Jones led Elizabethtown with 18 points and nine rebounds despite being limited to 19:45 of playing time due to foul problems. Jones was 12 of 14 from the free throw line. Natalie Greenwell and Jenna Goblirsch added 17 and 11 points respectively.
