Scott County (17-3) vs. Henry Clay (16-7)

Scott County coach Billy Hicks started the following lineup:  6-3 Jr. Rodney Haddix, 6-3 So. Bud Mackey, 6-6 So. Jordan Lee, 5-10 Sr. Jesse Thompson, and 6-4 Jr. Matt Walls.  Henry Clay coach Kirk Chiles countered with 6-4 So. Aaron Boyd, 6-2 Sr. Aaron Miller, 6-4 So. Victor Moses, 5-11 Jr. Chase Minnifield, and 6-2 Sr. Aaron Dunaway.

Henry Clay avenged a 22 point loss to Scott County in December by defeating the Cardinals 73-65 tonight.  It was a game of surges with Henry Clay going on an 11-3 run in a four minute stretch to take a 71-62 lead with 1:18 remaining on the clock to gain control of the game.  Henry Clay raced out to a 22-11 lead after the first quarter only to have Scott County rally to tie the game at 26-26 with 3:12 left in the half.  Henry Clay went on a 15-1 run to take a 41-27 lead early in the third quarter but Scott County refused to give up and clawed back to tie the score at 50-50 with 31 seconds remaining in the third quarter.  The game remained close until Henry Clay made their final run to ensure victory.

Henry Clay shot 51% from the field, connected on 22 of 25 free throws, and pulled down 37 rebounds.  Henry Clay scored 27 points off 21 Scott County turnovers.  Scott County shot 39% from the field, connected on 16 of 23 free throws, and grabbed 30 rebounds.  The Cardinals scored 25 points off 23 Henry Clay turnovers.  Scott County held a 22-6 advantage in second chance points.

Aaron Dunaway and Victor Moses led Henry Clay with 17 points each with Moses pulling down nine rebounds and blocking three shots.  Aaron Miller added 16 points and 13 rebounds, while 5-10 Jr. Travis Bowman chipped in with 15 points.  Rodney Haddix led Scott County with 19 points and seven rebounds.  Bud Mackey added 17 points and Jesse Thompson chipped in with 11 points and six rebounds.
