Who said No Limit can't produce singles?
No Limit Records is used to having #1 records, but #1 singles? That's right, No Limit has scored a #1 single. With the release of the "It Ain't My Fault 1&2" single form Silkk and Mystikal, No Limit has done what many people, including No Limit fans never thought they could do, score a #1 hit. In fact No Limit is storming the R&B singles charts right now. Aside from the #1, they also have: "Woof" by Snoop, Feat. Fiend and Mystical - #4, and "Whatcha Wanna Do" by Mia X - #17. "It Ain't My Fault" is also #20 on the Billboard Hot 200. Is this a new angle for NL? I don't know, but one thing's for sure, there is No Limit to what they can do. Check my NL on da Billboard section to see where the latest NL albums stack up.

P working on another movie

Word has come out that Master P will executive produce, co-direct, and star in the prison film, "Lock Down." Written by Preston A. Whitmore II, whose previous credits include "Fled" and "The Walking Dead," the film depicts the lives of three wrongly imprisoned inmates whose friendship deteriorates behind bars. "I want the statement of this film to be that prison is not a place where anyone wants to be," Master P said in a statement trumpeting the film. This will, of course, not be P's first turn in front o the camera. The rapper and music mogul has previously starred in "I Got The Hook-Up" and will be featured in the upcoming film "Foolish," to be released in April. As for "Lock Down," P's co-director has yet to be named, but the film is scheduled to start shooting in late April in northern California and Los Angeles. The film will be released via Master P's No Limit Films and Palm Pictures and its No Limit soundtrack will also be produced and arranged by P.

Serv-On working on 1st single
New York rapper Big Pun returned to the camera this week -- this time with No Limit rapper Mr. Serv-On. The two went on location in New York City to film the video for "NY to NO," the first single from Serv-On's upcoming sophomore album, "Da Next Level." According to Pun, the song's title refers to the general unity between rappers as a whole, and more specifically, the bond between the Terror Squad and the No Limit crew. "It's dope," Pun told the MTV Radio Network, "because you know it's two of the strongest families in hip-hop. Everybody knows that we the realest and illest MCs comin' up right now." The new clip was shot at New York City's legendary hip-hop club, the Tunnel, and marks the first time a No Limit artist has filmed a video in the Big Apple. Mr. Serv-On's album, "Da Next Level," also features appearances from such members of the No Limit family as Master P, C-Murder, Mystikal and Mia X, and is due to arrive in stores on February 16.

Master P Dropped By Charlotte Hornets
Oh well, it was fun while it lasted. After months of speculation, the question about Percy Miller the rapper becoming Percy Miller the NBA player has finally been put to rest. Rapper and No Limit Records CEO Master P saw his bid to become an NBA player end on Monday when he was waived by the Charlotte Hornets. P had been in training camp with the Hornets since camp began last month and made the cut when the squad trimmed its roster to 16 last week . However, the Hornets told MTV News on Monday that P had been waived, just four days before the season is scheduled to begin on Friday. In two exhibition games with the Hornets over the weekend (both against the Atlanta Hawks), P played a total of eight minutes going 0-for-3 from the floor and 2-for-2 from the free throw line. He also tallied two assists and one rebound in the two games.

P Hangs Tough With Hornets As Season Nears
Master P might make the NBA after all. The rapper/CEO is still hanging tough with the NBA's Charlotte Hornets, and remains part of their 16-man training camp roster. As we first reported last week Miller arrived in Charlotte last Thursday for the team's training camp. One week later, P is still with the squad after scoring seven points in an intrasquad scrimmage last weekend. The next hurdle will come for P next Thursday, February 4, when the Hornets trim their 16-man roster down to the 14 who will start the season with the team (after the first two weeks of the season, the roster will be pared down again to 12). A spokesperson for the Hornets told MTV News that it is likely that an injury will keep guard Glen Rice (another of the 16 players filling a slot on the Hornets current roster) from starting the season with the team, so the Hornets may only have to cut one more player before the start of the season. P, who is wearing the number 0 with the Hornets, has been playing guard with the team.

December 27, 1998: Master P and the Million Youth March

This fall's Million Youth March in Harlem took on the tone of a rap concert when Khallid Abdul Muhammad grabbed the mic. "I want you to put your fists in the air and give a special thanks to the worlds leader in rap music," yelled Muhammad, in front of a less than capacity crowd. Those expecting the former aide of Louis Farrakhan to shoutout to artists like Public Enemy, KRS-One and the Coup got a big surprise: "No Limit Records and Brother Master P!" The crowd took his cue issuing "Uuunnghs!" of approval, prompting Muhammad to chant, "Holla if ya hear me!" Although the non-profit Master P Foundation comfirms donating money to the event, reps didn't return phone calls inquiring about the exact amount, and P's camp firmly states that the Master wouldn't have contributed if he knew Muhammad was involved. "He made it seem as though we were part of his organation," said NL Records' vice president of business and finance, Tevester Scott. Scott added that the foundation was trying to find out exactly how the money was spent.

The No Limit rap star told the media on Monday that he had only been stopped because he was driving a flashy car and that he hadn't been smoking the joint. He said it was an old roach sitting unlit in the ashtray, and that he didn't even realize it was there. He said his gun was registered and that he needed it for protection, and that he hoped to get off with just a fine. Mystikal, released his second album, "Ghetto Fabulous," just last week, added that he thought God was telling him not to celebrate that hard.

Master P was featured today on SportsCenter. Yes, that’s right Percy Miller was the cover story today on the popular ESPN sports news show, SportsCenter. They talked about Master P as a basketball player for the Fort Wayne Fury(CBA), and as an entrepreneur. As for the basketball part they were talking about how P played ball long before he became a rapper. They interviewed P’s coach, Keith Smart and asked him about Miller’s skills as a baller. Smart said that P came into the gym as Percy Miller, not Master P. He said that he is as good of a leader as anything. Former Indiana University star Damon Bailey who is now a teammate of P said that P has a good chance to play for a while. Bailey said that he was impressed by the way P left everything else behind him to play ball. In the No Limit part of the interview they talked about how P was #10 money maker in the entertainment industry. They also talked about the No Limit Compound that P is building in Baton Rouge, LA. The $19 million dollar project is going to be 48,000 square feet, full basketball court, full gym, movie theater and many other features. They showed a lot of pix of the construction site and it looks phat. They talked a lot about P becoming a sports agent. They showed of clips of Derek Anderson and Ron Mercer in an upcoming No Limit Sports commercial. It also talks about other players that he has signed. They mentioned that Derek Anderson is going to be featured in P’s next movie. During the interview ESPN threw a dis at Puff Daddy of Bad Boy Records.
